I’m the CTO of an organization that provides primary source verification services primarily to the medical industry.
What challenge were you trying to address with Neebal Technologies Pvt Ltd?
We had an opportunity to extend our technology pool and use an external consultancy. We had a lot of development work to do. We had a large pipeline of work and chose to use external resources to help us handle that volume of work.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Neebal looked at a couple of existing processes and came up with new versions them with modern technology. They redesigned the platform and proposed how we should implement the redesign. Their team essentially came up with a web-based platform using up-to-date technology.
We recently re-engaged them to actually develop the platform. Their team initially designed the frontend of the web platform to capture applicants' contact details. The platform will turn those submissions into records for our business management system to process. That means their team will also build an API integration into that system.

They documented their entire designs using our system. Their team provided us with high-quality documentation for what the new design would look like.

Agrochemical companies are heavily dependent on research and development for new products & this is heavily regulated & compliance heavy industry. UPL is know for very fast & emerging company hence its challenges from NPD are very different compared to other established companies e.g. BASf, Syngenta or Bayer.
We would wanted to build a platform initially to capture all regulatory related projects since these projects are capes heavy & long duration, it’s extremely important to keep tab of those so that these projects are positively impacted on company revenue streams.
Long duration and multiple stakeholders required to cross Collaboration needs, which also means to build functionality for various stakeholders.
How did you select Neebal Technologies Pvt Ltd and what were the deciding factors?
Neebal was already working with UPL & had good reviews from other users. Since their capabilities on Jaava, they were selected as they had history of working closely with business users with better understanding of their needs.
Supporting ever changing business needs require to be flexible , which was a critical factor for us in deciding the vendor of choice. Since this was platform building, which we also started for the first time, there was lots of changes in the requirements initially as we anticipated. Neebal was ready to play on these conditions.

There were multiple functions using the platform, & all info was highly confidential and business critical, we wanted to have very customised authorisation matrix with hierarchy also playing a significant role in it, lots of business validations were built in capturing business info, significant integrations with other systems e.g SAP, BW etc for various info exchange was involved.
Regular workflow including complex query module with notifications were also deployed. Mostly, it was built using Java , magix for integration with SAP
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Project went thru peak phase to lean phase since last 2 yrs. there are 2 people from my team, who were focal point for most of business conversations besides involving actual business stakeholders as per the needs. In vendor team, there were 2 to 4 core team people, while 15 to 20 people were involved in various other tasks. Architect was initially full time later on, it was half fte.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Most of the deliveries were accompanied within the time except migration related activities as there were always more no of iterations than anticipated. Business users were appreciative of the developments as well as vendors ability to resolve their queries in timely manner.

Used various pm tools, e.g jira. Emails were used for communication. However, during the peak period of go live! Team used to be housed in our premises to avoid time gap in communication and ensuring smoother interactions.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Very agile, young and energetic. Less hierarchy and flat culture enabled richer conversations. We were impressed with the never say die approach, it was much appreciated.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Testing and automated testing could have been deployed to avoid time splurge. Documentation & user manuals could be improved.

I’m the CEO of Birla Brainiacs, an Ed-Tech company providing mobile content to students. Finding good-quality teachers in the remote places of India is a big challenge, as well as an opportunity. We’re basically catering to that: offering good-quality content through our mobile network. We also run 125 schools all over India.
What challenge were you trying to address with Neebal Technologies Pvt Ltd?
The content itself wasn’t a problem for us but we had no exposure to the technology segment. We had no idea how to make this content available in remote places with no high-speed internet. Many places only have 2G available or 3G at most. Getting videoconferencing for live lectures in places like those was a big challenge, so our mobile app wasn’t a simple thing to create. Lectures needed to be smooth-running, without any pauses or buffering issues. Neebal took up this challenge.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Neebal designed and developed an Android, iOS, and web app that’s able to run videoconferences over low-speed internet connections. The app serves primary-to-grade-12 students, so the UX part was another challenge. We had to create an app that students wouldn’t find boring, especially small kids, and it needed to be very intuitive and fitting for all ages, from five to 18 years. We went to them only with a problem statement, and Neebal handled the full architecture, design, and development of the app. They conceptualized the entire project.
What is the team composition?
We worked with different members across the project, and there were five people reporting to me at peak. They might have had a bigger team internally, but this was a fixed-cost project, so I wasn’t concerned with the number of developers used.
How did you come to work with Neebal Technologies Pvt Ltd?
They were recommended to me by a friend who used them to develop a mobile app for his own company. Neebal came highly recommended as a professional company with good design skills. I got proposals from three other companies as well and we went through due diligence. Neebal was cost-effective, and, more importantly, had a reliable team and weren’t a small company where we might’ve risked having to shut the project shut down. We wanted to get long-term support from them as well, so it was important that they were financially stable.

The base cost was $100,000, and we paid a bit more for changes.

We started working with Neebal in September or November 2019, and the app went live in April 2020.

We’ve ranked high on Google Play from day one. Most users have given us ratings of four and five stars, and most of the lower ratings have been due to network issues. We’ve gotten very good feedback in terms of the UI and ease of use. Most users give us five stars on Google Play for UX design.

They’re quite structured and process-oriented. They have proper escalation mechanisms and schedule regular meetings. They used a project management tool, but I was more comfortable with email and WhatsApp.

Neebal is a quite economical solution, and their team is quite good in terms of technical capabilities. Their readiness to solve queries is also important, as there were times when we needed late-night support and they were available. I can rely on them for my business. I’ve referred them to many of my friends and to other companies. I highly recommend them, and I’d rate them a 9/10.

They could go one level up on the UX side. We’ve gotten very good ratings for their work, but they could still go further.

I’m one of the co-founders and co-CEOs at eTeacher Group. I’m responsible for all marketing and technology issues.
What challenge were you trying to address with Neebal Technologies Pvt Ltd?
The main issue was scaling. We have around 30,000 students a year and about 400,000 applications a year. Our learning menu system was on older technology, and we decided to build it almost from scratch using advanced technology. We also wanted a mobile application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team mostly uses frontend technology, which I believe is React. It was mostly developing the UX and interfaces for the website and later the mobile application. They also worked on the mobile responsiveness.
We provided them with wireframes and mockups, but they’ve also contributed their own wireframes in places where we have needed to make adjustments. The team brought us a full solution from the CTO to engineering, and to UX, and QA.
What is the team composition?
I work with the COO. My CTO works with most of the team. Right now, it’s between five to 10 people, which includes a senior developer, UX developer, web developers, QA, and a project manager.
How did you come to work with Neebal Technologies Pvt Ltd?
My partner was in India on a business trip. One of the initiatives that we operate is a coding school for kids. We met with an incredible coding school for adults, and the person who manages this school is one of the founders of the company.
He was actually very impressive in terms of his philosophy. He operates both the coding school for adults and a coding services company that are usually people that come from the school. We had great chemistry, and we had good communication. They’re top professionals who are highly motivated people and good workers. We decided to give it a chance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
What we like about working with them is that they’re really precise. We feel that they follow the industry's best practices. Everything is documented, and everything is done with a scrum approach.
They have good consultancy about using the right technology. When they take on a project, nothing is left behind. We’ve learned a lot about software and project management. It’s been a great experience for us.
In terms of their quality, we feel that for each position, but we really received excellent developers. They’re hard workers. Not only that, but they want the project to succeed. If something is waiting from our end, they will push us and make sure that we don’t forget anything.
They’re also professional. Their work ethic is excellent, and in terms of knowledge, they’re very knowledgeable in terms of best technologies and practices.
How did Neebal Technologies Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
There’s no problem at all. We did have some issues with the language barrier, but we’ve worked over them. The scheduled meetings are on time, and the deadlines are always met.
Everything is prepared in advance with their sprints and version releases. So far, they’ve met all the deadlines. They use Jira and Confluence to make sure that the project is smooth.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their personality sets them apart. They accept everything, and they’re really appreciative. The team wants to take on the work, and we feel like we have good partners. It’s the first time we’re outsourcing, so it’s hard to compare, but in all parameters, I’ll give them an excellent grade.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing in particular. There’s nothing that stands out. Obviously, each project may experience friction, and it takes a while to learn how to work with the provider, but now after a few months, we’ve had no complaints.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You have to really define the project in as much detail as you can in order to have good communication. Everything has to be documented and prepared in advance. If you work like that, it will work out the best for you.
