A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder of Esmonte Ventures, a supply chain distribution consultant.
What challenge were you trying to address with Nashville Supply Chain Consulting?
We hired Nashville Supply to provide us with fresh strategies to improve how we advise clients on the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic and related issues, like trucker strikes, on the supply chain.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Nashville Supply provided us with various services, mostly centered around supply chain optimization. One service was supply chain advisory optimization, where we tried to find better ways to predict future inventory and determine our optimal mix of production and distribution. Nashville Supply also utilized AWS connectivities to add more data points to our system to forecast supply chain and inventory changes. We then determined how to send that information across our networks most effectively.
What is the team composition?
I only worked with Ryan (CEO).
How did you come to work with Nashville Supply Chain Consulting?
I was referred to Nashville Supply by a mutual friend, and after some discussion, we decided to start a business relationship. One of the reasons we hired Nashville Supply was because of their location and their expertise — they knew about consumer and packaged goods industries. They were also the right price.
How much have you invested with them?
We've invested around $26,000 with Nashville Supply.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our partnership began in October 2021, and it's ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Nashville Supply turned our holistic approaches into more iterative computation solutions to reduce QA and lead times — our lead time has been reduced by three and a half days. Nashville Supply saved us around $200,000 by helping us better manage our inventory so we're not paying as much in warehousing and transportation fees.
How did Nashville Supply Chain Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?
I'd give them a five out of five project management. Ryan provides us with on-demand service, but I don't contact him outside his preset work hours. Generally, we communicate over email or in person.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Small businesses don't often look to work with consultants because they often don't understand the broader context behind the work. I like Nashville Supply because they actually understand my business and how our data provided applies to the real world. Their supply chain knowledge is top class.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We had a capacity issue working with just Ryan, and I think Nashville Supply should look to hire more teammates so they can scale up their business. We have more business to bring them, but we won't be able to if they don't have the capacity.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I'd advise customers to be upfront with their problems instead of dancing around the issues — Nashville Supply is there to address problems as they are, not as the customer wants them to be seen.
Nashville Supply Chain Consulting's optimization strategies have saved the client $200,000 and cut their lead time by three and a half days. Nashville Supply Chain Consulting has great project management and a top-notch understanding of the client's industry, a rarity for the consulting industry.
