For over 15yrs we’ve been very successful growing our software services for our clients and we decided to launch a proprietary Fintech product in response to the Digital Asset Business Act passed in Bermuda in 2018.
We started development in 2019 and completed the entire UI/UX with plans to complete the back-end development in early 2020. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we had to focus on serving our clients and helping them pivot and survive the global lock-down.
As a result we did not have time or resources to complete our Fintech product. We hired the team at Affle (mTraction Enterprise) to help use develop the backend of our application. Our goal was to launch a fully functional MVP in a timely manner and be first to market.

We found them after an exhausting search online for a seasoned mobile developer. We considered them along with 3 other vendors. Due to the complexity of the project, high priority and necessity to get to market first, we needed a results-driven development partner that was committed to following our UI/UX and requirement document to the letter.

They helped us develop the back-end of the mobile application using our UI/UX as a guide. We first started with a discovery workshop to review the UI/UX and go over our functional requirements.
They provided detailed feedback, Phase 1 scope of work, and a timeline for completion before starting development using React JS and Dart. They completed Phase 1 (MVP) in 2 - 4 week sprints which allowed us to test functionality and give feedback.

There were 22 people connected to the project with 6 people in the core team. This included an account manager, project manager, project analyst, 2 senior back-end developers, and 1 analytics developer. Other core resources would come and go depending on the sprint requirements.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to develop the MVP in a timely manner which was a major accomplishment considering the global pandemic. Due to the high quality of the project we’ve been able to form a partnership with the government to become their digital asset remittence provider for government services. The development experience was exceptional and enjoyable. So we decided to retain their services for further iterations to our product.

The project management style was great. We met monthly with the account and project manager to go over the project status and feedback. We also met weekly with the project manager and development team to go over the status of sprint and overall project wins and challenges. We communicated through Google Meets, Whatsapp, and email.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The most impressive thing about this company is their dedication to the task and project. I never heard no or not possible. All of our ideas and requirements where executed perfectly.
We also had direct access to the project manager and team via WhatsApp which made communication instant and clear even though the team was in different locations and timezones. This was very impressive considering the global lock-down and transitioning to WFH (work from home) several time through-out the project.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
While the quality of work was great overall, there was a slight language barrier which caused clarity issues in the early stages. Once we got familiar to the accent, everything flowed smoothly. Additionally, since we provided all the UI/UX, a little attention to detail would have eliminated a few delays during the project. Awesome experience otherwise. I would definitely recommend the team.

What was the scope of their involvement?
mTraction Enterprise designed and developed our mobile app for Android and iOS using React. This platform allows users to consume our key products, and we’ve implemented readable content in it, including news, articles, and product descriptions. It also serves as a tool for the public to interact with us and register for public events and webinars.
Currently, mTraction Enterprise is creating another mobile app to address upcoming businesses. They’re also increasing our platform’s information capabilities and expanding the registration processes for events. We have to meet certain KPIs and standards for our websites and applications because we report to the central government agencies who oversee all these initiatives. mTraction Enterprise is now working with us to ensure that we’re meeting all those KPIs.

Although some things initially took longer than expected, mTraction Enterprise’s project management has been great. Our communication improved when we understood each other’s working styles. We use Basecamp, Jira, and Google Docs to manage the project.

We hadn’t done a mobile development project before, so we discovered that these projects have many complexities. However, mTraction Enterprise has done a good job handling all of them and teaching us a lot of things. We are a USA-based internet service provider headquartered in Greater Boston, Massachusetts. We offer communications, network broadband, VOIP, and managed services.

For what projects/services did your company hire Affle Enterprise?
Affle has developed a video streaming cum customer service app in React Native. It's for android and iOS mobile devices. However, the admin portal is a web-based solution.
What were your goals for this project?
Our primary goal was the user engagement and provide a video streaming experience to the customer where they can upload the hyperlocal informational videos and can chat with each other too.

How did you select Affle Enterprise?
After a lot of research, after all we wanted a long-term partner. We initially reached out to several companies. Affle offered thorough, in-depth analysis and advice before we even agreed to hire them, which was very impressive. My tech lead gave the highest rating to Affle.

Hyperlocal community engagement is our major focus. However, my app is meant to raise the service requests and get them solved upon priority. After COVID-19 my customers demanded an app, I thought to get something on which I can proud of.
What was the team composition?
They assigned 2 business analysts & a project manager to help us out with the scope of work and progress on the project. Further, 2 designers, 4 programmers, and a dedicated QA were aligned on the project. Their business head Anuj Tripathi and Shubham from the marketing has helped us to keep a check on my marketing expenditure as well.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
So far so good. Planning a launch event soon. Adding more features in between before we go live next month.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They were behind us for the feedbacks. I liked the push attitude. There was excellent communication between the teams and that helped us to improve our final product more and more. Affle also provides great support and the team is always available to answer any question.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They are true professionals. They have an excellent portfolio of companies and make apps that are very clean and easy to use. Also, they are very good at assessing needs. The questions were very detailed sometimes.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The documentation and communication on tools could have been less. We were not too handy with the project management tools earlier. But they managed us well.

The project was to develop My Spectra Selfcare App for our customers that allows them to make their internet recharge/bill payment online. We have individual as well as corporate users and the app allows all of them to manage their profile, keep track of data usage, raise a service request/report an issue, manage family users, etc.
What was the team composition?
Initially, we were assigned a Sr. Project Manager to understand & support us and serve as the main point of contact throughout the project development and completion. We started with the analysis phase where a Sr. Business Analysis was assigned on the project to detail and finalise our requirement, the BA helped us a lot with her valuable suggestions to automate the process. Followed by 1 Designer, 1 UI/UX expert, 2-2 frontend-backend developers and 1 Testing Engineer.

Within 3 months of application launch our revenue started increasing considering new user acquisition as well as cross selling to existing users. We received good review/rating on Google and Apple play store for usability of the application.

The project manager assigned was easy to communicate with and provided us frequent updates. We received valuable suggestions on the application in weekly calls. The communication with the Affle Enterprise team was flawless. We used Zoom to connect for online calls and WhatsApp for quick communications.
