BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Overture is a retail home electronics store. We have two brick-and-mortar locations, but 99.9 percent of our sales are done online. We sell many high-end, expensive products and use our website as a point of interaction and information on our items.

I am one of the owners.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Mproven?

We wanted to increase our sales nationally through the use of the Internet. Mproven has helped us achieve that goal.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

Mproven has worked with us on a number of areas, including SEO [search engine optimization]. They've made suggestions on how to improve our existing website and have tweaked our advertising in order to make it more effective in terms of how we are presenting our products. A while ago, Google introduced a remarketing program that Mproven suggested we use.

How did you come to work with Mproven?

The owner of Mproven built our second website 10 to 12 years ago. At the time, he wasn't working with the current company. We contacted him again when we needed his services, and it has turned out to be a great relationship.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The yearly cost for their services is around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The work is ongoing. Mproven constantly comes up with SEO and design suggestions for us. We interact with them at least on a monthly basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

I'm generally satisfied with their services. I wouldn't be spending such a large amount of money otherwise. Mproven has been responsible for the online segment of our business taking off and doing well.

Sales trends may not be completely relevant in measuring Mproven's contribution. We continually change our product lines, so they perform differently. Our business has increased by about 10 percent every year, but this is due to many factors. Comparing one year to another may not be relevant though. We sell expensive equipment, including single items that cost more than $100,000. A few of these sales in a year can significantly skew results.

Any sales increase we see will be due to a number of factors, among them being SEO work. To point a finger at this area alone would be wrong.

How did Mproven perform from a project management standpoint?

Mproven has done a good job of monitoring our online presence and keeping tabs on a number of items like our SEO, what ads are effective and what ones aren't, what products are selling effectively, and so on.

What distinguishes Mproven from other providers?

They're very knowledgeable about their field and about business in general. Many IT [information technical] firms have good IT expertise, but won't necessarily know much about how a business works. This quality has helped us because we can relate better to Mproven.

Is there anything Mproven could have improved or done differently?

I can't think of anything offhand. There are no major mistakes.
