Please describe your company and your position there.
Tectonic Video creates award winning videos for nonprofit organizations all across the world. Creative director, writer, editor, DP.
For what projects/services did your company hire Movult, and what were your goals?
We hired Movult to design and animate 3 30 second videos for a campaign raising awareness about the illegal trade of exotic wildlife.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We've worked with Movult several times in the past, and knew they were a good fit for this project. They deliver on time, are great creative partners, and have a deep level of understanding about the design and animation process that helps solve problems and creates great results.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
The videos we created with Movult featured 3 distinct animals. Each animal needed to be cute and immediately likeable. Movult created sketches of the animals, which were approved by our client. Then they created storyboards of each video.
Once those were approved, they began animating the videos. Every step of the prices was smooth, delivered on time, and the creative work met and exceeded our goals.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked with Gavin. The feedback process was really easy. All our feedback was well received and he came up with creative solutions to help us reach our goals.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our client was thrilled with the outcome. The campaign hasn't rolled out yet, so no numbers to share.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We communicated through email and shared files through Dropbox. Communication was always within 12-24 hours.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They always do a great job and are great to work with.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Video Production for Rainforest Protection Nonprofit
"One of the pleasures of working with them is that we had a common goal to achieve."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for Rainforest Trust, and we are a nonprofit that works to protect rainforest habitats. We work with partners and local communities to ensure long-term protection for tropical ecosystems.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movult?
Movult actually came to us and offered to design a video talking about how the rainforest is an important cause for people to care about.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We worked with Movult to develop and produce an animated video about the importance of the rainforest. We posted it on all of our social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, we sent it out in an email, and it’s one of our highest viewed YouTube videos as well.
In addition, while I wasn’t involved in the development of the content, we may have helped with some of the language used in the video.
What is the team composition?
We were just in contact with one member of their team, but it’s possible that more of them were involved in the project on their side.
How did you come to work with Movult?
They reached out to us to offer their services because they thought they could help us get our message and mission out. We saw what they had done in the past and we thought we’d be a good fit working together.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested less than $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from January–April 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Most of the metrics and analytics would come from the video’s social media performance, because we posted it on all our platforms. It got a significantly higher performance and watch time than 95% of our other videos. The video is one of the most watched videos on YouTube. It got a lot of traffic and earned our organization several donations.
Even a year later, it still gets a fair amount of views.
How did Movult perform from a project management standpoint?
I’ve personally communicated with our contact over LinkedIn, and we communicate with them by email as well. Beyond that, since I wasn’t the primary contact, I’m not exactly sure how else they communicated.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They went above and beyond for the final output they produced. It’s definitely something we could not have done on our own, and we’re very thankful they came to us to help us save the rainforest. Knowing that the people you’re working with cares about the same cause and have the same drive to produce the final project — that in itself is impressive. It was really cool working with them because we were on the same page, working on the same thing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not that I can think of. They got it out for us on Earth Day, which I think was a bit of a rush, but they put in the time and effort to produce a great video. They were a real pleasure to work with.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They came to us with a passion to help save the rainforest, and that helped us communicate why the cause was so important. It created a drive that really got everybody emotionally involved in the project, as opposed to just being another piece of work to put out. One of the pleasures of working with them is that we had a common goal to achieve.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Blink Media is a global content agency. We work with brands, agencies, and publishers to create content all over the world. I’m the executive producer of video for the branded content studio.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movult?
We reached out to Movult to help us with motion graphics, illustrations, and animations.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We work with Movult a lot. Gavin (Motion Graphic Designer) helps us on a variety of projects like live-action that needs graphic elements, motion graphic mixed media, and full illustration and animation.
Gavin comes in at the beginning of each project and helps us shape the look and feel of the graphics. From concept to completion, Movult is with us every step of the way.
What is the team composition?
Gavin is my main point of contact, and he’s an incredible resource for us. He acts as the producer, project manager, and head of the studio, and he communicates down to his team.
How did you come to work with Movult?
I’m not entirely sure, but I believe that my boss found Movult’s website and sent it over to me. He liked Gavin’s work and suggested that I get in touch with him.
We worked together on a couple of projects, and they were a natural fit for our workflow and team. We found that working with them was extremely pleasant, so we have continued working together ever since.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $50,000–$70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The first project we worked on together was in March 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The end products that Movult delivers are great, and the process is very transparent. The way that we envision and conceptualize the product is always how it ends up looking. There have never been any surprises about how it is going to look or feel. Their work is always excellent and executed perfectly.
How did Movult perform from a project management standpoint?
Gavin is very communicative and meets deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Movult and Gavin himself have become very well integrated into our team and process, and they can tackle any creative challenge.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing they could improve.
Any advice for potential customers?
Come prepared with a fully fleshed-out brief. Know the direction of your video right off the bat. As with any company, be prepared to engage them. They’re there to support you and your production, but you’re the one in charge of how it needs to go. Make sure your ideas and timelines are defined and that the budget expectations meet the scope of their work.

Video Production for TED-Ed
“We enjoy working with Movult and look forward to continuing producing films with them.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m part of the production team at TED-Ed, which is the education branch of TED. We produce animated short films that are shared worldwide. We have over 10 million subscribers on YouTube and our content is used in classrooms and for various educational purposes. My team works with artists and educators to produce animated short films.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movult?
Movult is one of the hundreds of freelance animation studios we work with to produce our animated lesson videos.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Movult produces animated lesson videos for us that take 3–4 months to complete. We provide Movult with a script and connect them with the scriptwriter. Then, they share design frames, animatics, and the final animation with our team and scriptwriter for review. Once they receive our feedback, they incorporate it and work on the film until completion.
Movult has occasionally provided insight to help us communicate our message in a clear manner and worked with musicians to produce the sound design for the film. We’ve produced three lessons with them so far, and two of them are live. We plan to continue working with them.
What is the team composition?
Our main contact at Movult is Gavin (Director). He oversees each of the lessons.
How did you come to work with Movult?
We find our collaborators in various ways, and we’re very connected in the animation industry. Usually, animation studios reach out to us or we look into their work after hearing about them from someone else. That being said, we looked into Movult’s work on their website, and it matched the quality of the animation we produce for our YouTube channel. We have award-winning animated films. Therefore, we look for very high-quality standards, and Movult lived up to that.
How much have you invested with them?
We have an agreement with them for $5,000 each lesson, which makes $15,000 for the three lessons we’ve produced so far. Since TED-Ed is a nonprofit organization, we have a reduced fee with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working in January 2020, and we’re still working with them. We focus on building long-term relationships with the studios we work with, and we hope to continue producing animations with Movult.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve produced three lessons with Movult so far, one of which hasn't been published yet. However, we measure success through the views on YouTube, and each of the published films has over 500,000 views and hundreds of shares in less than a year. Our videos' views tend to increase in engagement over time, so we anticipate even more views. The performance has been very strong so far.
How did Movult perform from a project management standpoint?
Gavin is the only one we communicate with. His team is very good at meeting our deadlines and communicating his process with us. We have a project with him for Earth Day, and he’s delivered on time and exceeded our team's expectations. He’s been very patient and understanding whenever we have last-minute accommodations, which is great considering our tight timelines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Gavin has been very flexible and helpful whenever we have changes in the script or content. He understands what’s important for us and that makes our team trust him. We enjoy working with Movult and look forward to continuing to produce films with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing that comes to mind. Movult has been great at everything.
Any advice for potential customers?
I would tell potential customers that they’re in trusted hands with Movult.
