Branding, Web & Logo Design for Cannabis Startup Company
"They were very good at meeting the design goals we were trying to accomplish."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a wholesale cultivation product manufacturing cannabis startup. We’re getting licensed in Massachusetts, and we currently operate in the medical caregiver program in Maine, where we have a 1000 square foot canopy.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movetic?
We were trying to build a brand and we wanted professional assistance in creating our aesthetic, brand story, guidelines, and logo to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we approached Movetic for a logo design that includes the type, and what our core colors are going to be — that all came together to form a brand story. From there, we were able to create the ethos, the foundations, and the guiding principles of our brand as we moved forward. Once we had those, we moved on to designing a one-page website, and the additional branding assets that can be used for future packaging, and merchandise creation like our business cards. Their bread and butter was really creating a one-page website that we wanted to use as a marketing tool, to bring in potential customers and investors. They designed the website on an Adobe application and hosted it on WordPress.
What is the team composition?
In the initial kick-off meeting, there were about 15–20 people. However, we worked closely with Josh (CEO), Andrew (Creative Director & Co-Founder), Shawn(Developer), and Daniel (Senior Graphic Designer). They brought in some people here and there, but they were the four core that we worked with mostly.
How did you come to work with Movetic?
I actually had a friend that started a CBD company out in Colorado that used Movetic for their branding. I saw what they did for my friend’s brand, and I really liked the design and aesthetic they created. When we were looking for brands on the east coast, there were just a lot of generic, cookie-cutter marketing companies, and I really wanted to bring in some fresh ideas and a fresh look. We got in contact with them and had the initial conversation about what we wanted to do, and it seemed like there was some good working chemistry that looked positive going forward — and that’s why we chose them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $40,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from August 2020–February 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Movetic had a really in-depth marketing and design process. We sat down with them in our bi-weekly meetings and they were really engaging. They took the time to understand who we were as founders and operators, and pulled out information from us through their own kind of proprietary process. As for the logo design, we spent hours working together to create an idea that would be the foundation of the logo. We wanted a lot of the natural aspects of the east coast to make it more modern, edgy, and cool. Everybody we talked to was very impressed by the design and aesthetics of our brand. In terms of getting people excited and being impressed, we’ve gotten a lot of potential investors on board, because they can see how put together our brand was.
How did Movetic perform from a project management standpoint?
It was a slower process, but they were great at the deliverables. The success wasn’t so much about reaching the deadline because we didn’t really have strict deadlines. They just made sure that our branding was right, and from a project management standpoint, they came back and always incorporated the things we wanted to a tee. They put their own ideas to help us iterate, but they were very good at meeting the design goals we were trying to accomplish. I communicated directly with the CEO and we didn’t use any tools. We just had weekly meetings that were more of an iterative process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What was impressive about them was their aesthetics and their ability to cultivate, develop, and design a look to really make your brand stand out. Movetic had a great team that can put together a really good and clean-looking brand. They really knew what they were talking about as they had reasons for why they do everything. At times we weren’t sure about what they were trying to do, but when it all came together, it was really impressive.
I always use my brand guidelines once a week to put together new packaging, branding assets, and brand stories, and it always blows people away about how clean and professional it is. Partnering with them was a big investment at first, but it’s paying huge dividends right now. Right now, we don’t have to worry about anything anymore, because we have the brand, aesthetic, and design, thanks to Movetic. They put it all together in a way that I don’t think other agencies can.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I think having a more realistic timeline about how long the design process takes will help people plan better. We initially planned for the design to be done by November, but it took until February to finish. There was definitely a discrepancy in the timing, but I wasn’t mad about that because we got the brand that we wanted out of it. I didn’t care much about the timing, I just wanted it to be right. Movetic was really responsive and took their time with us, so I don’t think it was necessarily a bad thing that the process took longer.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just know exactly what you need and what you want. They’re expensive and you can basically spend an unlimited amount of money with them, so just make sure you really understand what your deliverables are.

We believe the minds and technologies that solve our challenges in space will help to solve many of our most pressing challenges on Earth. This is why we are creating affordable public access to the critical infrastructure and testing environments necessary for human spaceflight training and the rapid development of impactful technologies.
The key Academy apparatus will include: Boeing 767 for parabolic flight, high-gravity human centrifuge, 4-million+ gallon neutral buoyancy tank, hypobaric and hyperbaric chambers, and a host of other supporting facilities and equipment to come. The academy’s vision is to foster a thriving culture of collaboration by establishing an environment where all explorers, students, trainees, researchers, government, military, industry and entrepreneurs can work in tandem.
The academy will be the hub for space innovation designed to enable more solutions than would have been possible without the cross-pollination our campus is designed to cultivate. I am the Director of Communications for the academy.
For what projects/services did your company hire Movetic?
Movetic supported the development and launch of our website in the form of a simple landing page.
What were your goals for this project?
We sought to execute a soft launch by means of a landing page with select information about our activities.
How did you select Movetic?
Personal contact/connections
Describe the project in detail.
Movetic worked closely with the team to develop a landing page for the soft launch of the project. This involved capturing the intended look/feel of the website, and supporting iterations of design and content ideas.
What was the team composition?
We worked with all fantastic members of the Movetic team to launch this website. They were all extremely helpful and responsive, especially considering the tight timeline we were facing for this soft launch.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Movetic delivered a great website in very short time, encompassing all of the design and content inputs we required. This website allowed people to learn about the academy and to sign up for updates.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team was very efficient. They were responsive and helpful with our various update requests, and we are particularly grateful for their turnaround time on this fast project.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
This company was collaborative and timely. By providing us with a website we can be proud of in very little time, and by capturing all our needs along the way, we are very impressed with the service delivered.
Are there any areas for improvement?
It would have been preferred to hard code the website, however this is totally understandable given the very limited timeline we were working with.

Website Design & Strategy for Boutique Surf Hotel
"We’ve worked with other companies in the past, and none make us feel as valuable as Movetic does."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-owner of Surfhouse Boutique hotel located in California.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movetic?
Our site had been designed by several vendors in the past, but it was lacking the functionality and branded look we wanted. We hired Movetic to redesign our entire platform and recreate our messaging with an online presence that matches our identity.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our engagement began with a discovery meeting in which we shared information about our business and the direction we wanted to go in. Movetic proposed their idea for the design, got our approval, and we had another vendor build the platform. Once the site was developed, their team polished off the features and made small changes.
From there, we created a strategy for our Instagram and Facebook presence. Together, we then filled out a social media calendar for our posts. Their team also manages our Google Ads campaign.
What is the team composition?
Josh (Co-Founder, Movetic) serves as our dedicated project manager, and Daniel (Associate Designer, Movetic) was the lead designer.
How did you come to work with Movetic?
I’d had a connection to the owners of Movetic, and many local companies spoke highly of their services. Picking them for our project was a clear choice.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent around $11,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in September 2018, and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The daily rate for our hotel has increased by over 10% because we’re able to display ourselves online more confidently. We’ve had an increase in revenue and overall business thanks to the support from Movetic.
How did Movetic perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been phenomenal at managing the workload and communicating with us. All responses come quickly, and the meetings are helpful and informative. They’re patient and ensure we’re comfortable with whatever direction the project is moving in.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’ve worked with other companies in the past, and none make us feel as valuable as Movetic does. They give us their attention and ensure we don’t feel like just another client. Their mission is to provide as much value as they can, which is clear from the way they approach the work. From the very fair price they charge us or the special care they take to fulfill our requirements, we’ve been satisfied.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I truly can’t think of anything for them to improve on; I have nothing but positive remarks to say about them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust the process. Movetic knows what they’re doing and understand what’s necessary to achieve success. Even if you’re in a niche industry, Movetic will take their time to create a strategy that fits your needs.

Web Dev & SEO for Valet Parking Company
“It was great to work with a team that took pride in and ownership of their work.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the owner and founder of Preferred Valet Parking, a veteran-owned company that offers parking management and valet services for private and corporate events.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movetic?
Our website was outdated, so we were looking for a developer to rebuild and update it.
What was the scope of their involvement?
After an initial call with Movetic to go over their process and our goals, they laid out the scope of work and pricing. They designed and built the website from scratch on Wordpress, providing the photography (custom and stock) as well as the copywriting. They also incorporated SEO and forms for visitors to fill out for special event requests or to submit applications.
What is the team composition?
I mostly worked with Josh (Co-founder, Movetic) and Yichen (Partner, Movetic).
How did you come to work with Movetic?
My accountant worked with Movetic on his website and recommended them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I first met with them in November 2017 and they completed the project around February 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
With the new website, we're still consistently ranked in the top search results on Google. We receive job applications and special inquiries through the site on a daily basis, so we know locals are finding the website and it's working properly.
How did Movetic perform from a project management standpoint?
They do a good job of balancing their creative talents with their business and technical knowledge. They set and meet timelines without fail. While I was able to meet in-person with them regularly, we worked very closely over email, phone, and through video conferencing as well. Any small errors that came up, their team was able to fix quickly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're very personable and down to earth. They're willing to take the time to have in-depth conversations to ensure all client needs are met. From start to finish, I felt like I was working with friends who care about the work they do more than most people I encounter in my daily life. It was great to work with a team that took pride in and ownership of their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Go into the relationship with specifics about what you want, so they can best pick a team and approach to meet those needs.

Web Design & Branding for Experiential Design Firm
"They have a lot of creative young minds and are not afraid to try new things."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We're an experiential design firm in Pasadena, California. Our primary focuses are theme park design, museums, and cultural attractions. We have in-house creative, architecture, and media teams composed of art directors, architects, media producers, illustrators, and other experts.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movetic?
Since we're a design firm, our website serves as our digital brochure, but the website we had was outdated. We wanted to create an effective new website that works for our branding, so we were looking for a company to help us with that.
What was the scope of their involvement?
It was a collaborative project: we have an in-house graphics team and they have a UX/UI skill set as well as graphics capabilities. They came up with some unique concepts and our in-house writers created the content. Movetic took the code and the aesthetic to a new level, delivering a spectacular WordPress website.
What is the team composition?
We worked with their founder Josh Roush, a UX/UI designer, and a graphics designer.
How did you come to work with them?
Movetic was a referral, but we received proposals from about 12 developers. We could tell they were engaged because they took time to customize their proposal and were willing to answer all of our questions before signing the contract. That was one of the deciding factors for us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project happened in October 2016 – January 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website was launched about a year ago and has been performing very well since then. As soon as it launched, we saw an increase in traffic and received a lot of compliments from new and existing clients. The number of new leads is on the rise and our clients are looking to do future phases of work with us.
As a company, we design different experiences, so it's important for us to have a unique and engaging website. Movetic has achieved that goal for us.
How did they perform from a project management standpoint?
We had one small challenge in the entire project, which was due to coding – we were fairly ambitious in our design. We had to slightly extend the timeline, but it paid off and we ended up receiving a CSS Design Award.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a lot of creative young minds and are not afraid to try new things that are out of everyone's comfort zone. This results in spectacular designs and interactive website platforms.
Also, they're great listeners and communicators. I always felt I could call them if I had any questions about the design. I would definitely go back to them for future projects.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can't think of anything.

Web Design & Branding for Personal Development Company
"I couldn't be happier with their work."
the reviewer
the review
The client submitted this review online.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Life on Fire is a personal development and growth company that offers transformational events for leaders and entrepreneurs. I am the CEO.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movetic?
Our website was tired and outdated.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Movetic came in and helped us clarify who we are in our market and how to stand out and dominate. This was much deeper than just design and branding. They helped me clarify my company's vision and core values.
Movetic did the frontend branding and design of the new website. We hired a separate developer for the coding and we built it in Genesis Framework.
How did you come to work with Movetic?
I've worked with a few other enterprise-level branding agencies. I found Movetic through a referral. Another top branding and design firm recommended them. I was sick and tired of being overcharged by large branding firms and was even more tired of working with inexperienced designers. I wanted to work with Movetic because I trusted their portfolio and because the conversation I had with their owners made me feel really comfortable.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with Movetic in August 2016 and finished in December 2016. They worked with us first on our brand and then the website design. I then spent a few months with the programmer from a separate company to go live with the website in July 2017.
What can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In terms of our Alexa ranking, we went from not even being on the map to growing like crazy. Our audience and customers are raving about the new site.
How did Movetic perform from a project management standpoint?
They under promised and over delivered in all aspects of the project which was incredibly refreshing. They finished ahead of deadlines and always showed up for our calls early. Project management was crisp and on point throughout, I literally couldn't be more impressed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I couldn't be happier with their work. For the first time ever in business, I love my website and I'm proud to show it off. The best part is that they helped me clarify our unique positioning and strategy in the market so that we can stand out and dominate.

Branding, Web Development, and Advertising for Auction House
"They have the ability to make a plan and then execute it."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Harcourt is an auction business in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, China, Indonesia, and Fiji. About two years ago, we entered the United States marketplace as well. We conduct approximately 12,000 nondistressed property auctions a year. Movetic helped us with marketing the website and continues to help us as an integral part of our business by branding us and keeping us up to date with everything in the marketplace. I am the director of auctions.
What challenge were you trying to address with Movetic?
They helped us with branding, web development, and advertising. They helped us develop our guides to buying and selling. They helped us on a content basis as well. We would give them the message that we want to get across and, not only would they design it, they would also do the copy and everything in respect to that. They've also developed our website and made it as fresh as possible. They are integral to who we are and what we are.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built everything from the ground up and are continuing to work with us. They had a development meeting with us where they suggested we get the app live and then develop it gradually. It's been extremely beneficial from a cost perspective as well.
How did you come to work with Movetic?
We looked at six other organizations and had a website built by someone else that was not up to par. When we met Josh [Roush, co-founder and chief brand officer at Movetic], he and Andrew [DiPaulo, principal and co-founder at Movetic] were the only ones involved in the business at that point. We were their first big client. We liked the fact that they were going to be spending the amount of time they did on us, and it was a fit that worked well. We gave them some small projects to work on to build trust, and they executed perfectly. The communication was outstanding. I feel that if you're going to do something with my company and me, you have to be communicating with us because I want to know what's going on.
How much have you invested with Movetic?
We've spent more than $250,000 in two years. We went to some of the bigger companies that had extremely large clients and, at the end of the day, they wanted us to spend $500,000 to $750,000 for them to give us the attention that we wanted. Josh and Andrew were willing to work with us.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them around July 2014.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Our business has grown 500% within two years. We're bringing the traditional auction platform to the U.S. so that people can sell their normal residential real estate that way as well. We need a lot of marketing, education, evidence of the volume we do, and the success that we've had. Everything they've done has helped us with our growth. They've built statistic sheets, fun facts sheets, complete guides to buying at auction, and complete guides to selling at auction. They've filmed and edited videos with us. They've built the content on our website. When people are selling one of their biggest assets, they need the volume of information, and we have so much information that people can feel comfortable. On the site we developed before we met Josh and Andrew, we were getting two or three hits a day on our website. Now, we get in excess of 350 to 500 hits a day.
How did Movetic perform from a project management standpoint?
Even as Movetic has grown and taken on bigger clients, their attention to us has been the same. They provide us with a scope of how things are going to work for each project. There are certain stages that they will commit to, and they execute on every single one of those stages. Each stage has a date, and if it's not going to be met by that date, they call us. We know any issues well before the due date.
What did you find most impressive about Movetic?
Their ability to innovate and create has shown initiative. When you're paying somebody to do something, you don't want to come up with your own ideas. You might have a vision of what you want, but they help you get what you want. They will bring ideas to us, and if I don't like it, they'll move onto other options. For example, they'll give me six different ideas for a statistics sheet and ask which one I like the most. They have great initiative and creativity. They have a great service package. For example, they're great at design, but also great at building apps. I don't have to have three or four different people on a project. If they don't have the ability to do something, they project manage the other part of it. I love the fact that I can go to them for everything.
Are there any areas Movetic could improve?
They've grown very quickly and handled it well. The deadlines have gotten pushed out a little more but, if they're successful, it means we're dealing with the right people.
