Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm a Senior Vice President at a boutique communications firm focused on strategic communications for investors and founders of the start-ups they invest in.
For what projects/services did your company hire Motion Tactic, and what were your goals?
Our website was created quickly via Squarespace when the company was founded in early 2020. The design wasn't sophisticated, and didn't best tell our story. After completing a refinement of our visual identity, we reached out to Motion Tactic to reimagine our website and bring our new identity to life. Our goal was to add credibility to our brand when a prospective client accessed our site during due diligence.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We short listed three vendors, and ultimately selected Motion Tactic because of their competitive pricing, ability to deliver within our desired timeframe, comprehensive proposal and a clear alignment between our company values and working style.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a kick off meeting to discuss goals, approach, and timeline -- we needed a Wordpress site that we could easily update with new clients and news. Then they went into Current Website User Behavior Analysis and Sitemapping, which were simple exercises given the type of website we were building. We shared reference sites during the Creative Workshop + Design Inspiration stage, and the creative team presented Moodboards for us to react to and provide feedback on.
Once we aligned on a Moodboard direction, we discussed and provided our content and functionality needs, and Conduct discovery sessions to learn your team’s key functionalities and content needs, which were laid out in low-fidelity wireframes, ensuring readiness for full design. Then we went into Design and Development, each with a few rounds of feedback and sign off, QA, and finally Deployment.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
An account manager was our main point of contact throughout the experience, and we had occasional touch points with their Head of Development and Creative Director at the necessary milestones. The CEO/Owner checked in throughout.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We have just launched the site to great feedback from clients, prospects, and peers in our industry. While we're not yet tracking metrics given we recently launched, we're thrilled with the results. Not only did they deliver what we asked for, but they also pushed us in better directions for our UX and design.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The Account Manager engaged with us via email and Zoom at the key milestone moments dictated by the timeline. Updates were thorough and helpful, and when a couple additional asks we made pushed the timeline, they explained our options and implications.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Our favorite thing was the customized Wordpress Training Guide they created for us with step by step instructions for any update we may need to make -- they trained us and made sure we were self sufficient.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nope.

Portfolio

InEight Website Design & Development
InEight came to us with the goal of differentiating themselves from its competition through creative website design. The company needed us to design, develop, and support several of its web properties across multiple departments.
We created modular design systems that can be re-used and extended to hundreds of pages without sacrificing the consistency and creativity defined by our team. The new website required several complex features; dense page count, multiple language translations, ADA compliance, Marketo integration, and more. Our team created a sprint schedule to break the work into digestible modules and to allow for our team to concurrently work on the project. Each sprint contained wireframe, design, development, and testing checkpoints.

Skybox Security Website Design & Development
The world of cybersecurity is nuanced and so is establishing yourself as an authority within the field. Skybox needed a site that not only elevated its brand, but also strategically targeted its audiences to drive revenue. This required a scalable, secure, and future-proof codebase that enabled synergy between its internal teams.
We completed a full website design and development project and digital brand extension for Skybox, creating an optimized front and back end experience.

MediaAlpha Website Design & Development
MediaAlpha came to us with a goal of creatively differentiating from their competition. One of the main challenges of this project was finding a way to tell a complex story about the brand without relying on stock photography or product screenshots.
During the process of redesigning MediaAlpha’s new website, we challenged ourselves to break out of traditional norms. We intentionally utilized a limited amount of raster imagery and sought to explain their offering through helpful graphics – all designed in-house by our design team. We implemented animated graphics to create clarity and understanding. The final product is a uniquely branded and highly informative website that helps MediaAlpha quickly show users how MediaAlpha can impact their businesses.

Awake Website Design & Development
As a brand new business, Awake hadn’t installed its custom window and door systems into homes at the time of the website build. This meant there were no product shots and limited professional photography options for the website. Since the Awake team wanted to target the luxury market audience, it was important to showcase the beauty and intentionality of their high-end products. We were tasked with transforming Awake’s initial branding into a full digital identity and telling its story with minimal collateral.
We landed on a high-end, minimalistic design to tell the Awake story of a luxury custom windows and doors manufacturer on a humanitarian mission. To solve the need for product shots, we created composite images using Awake’s CAD designs.

Cooper Law Partners Website Design & Development
Cooper Law Partners came to us with the goal of relaunching its website and implementing digital marketing strategies to connect injury victims with world-class representation. Since Cooper Law Partners is a national network of lawyers, it competes with local injury attorneys in major cities nationwide. Our goal was to create a sophisticated website design that earned users’ trust and converted them into clients.
Our engagement with Cooper Law Partners started with designing and developing a new website that engaged users in a sophisticated way. Catering to users nationwide, the website is built to scale alongside a robust digital marketing strategy. After the website launch, we began content and SEO optimizations for Cooper Law Partners to help achieve its goal of increasing contact form submissions.

DealCloud Website Design & Development
DealCloud is a fast growing organization that had previously grown using a sales-led strategy. At the time of connecting with us they were building out a marketing department and were preparing to invest in marketing for long term growth. They needed a website that would support their marketing team’s ongoing publishing needs and convert traffic that they would drive using SEO and PPC strategies.
We completed a full website design and development project and digital brand extension for DealCloud, creating an optimized front and back end experience. We provided ongoing SEO content strategy to support their goals of establishing themselves in search.

Axian Website Design & Development
The Axian team approached us with the goal of reviving its website to better position the firm as a local, trusted, and experienced software-development company.
Axian has worked with companies in the Pacific Northwest for nearly three decades. We designed to be familiar and culturally relevant for users visiting the site in the Pacific Northwest.

Lifewater Website Design & Development
Lifewater sought out Motion Tactic to re-develop its entire website to support a new crowdfunding model that allows users to team together and fund individual projects while getting real-time updates on the status of the project they helped fund. Allowing them to promote individual campaigns and to enable unique funding rules and models on a per campaign basis.
We developed a custom e-commerce website built on WordPress and using the GiveWP e-commerce platform. The website was highly customized and extended GiveWP to achieve functionality that was unique to Lifwater’s needs. The website generated millions of dollars in new donations and was used to fund clean water wells globally.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
I started my project with Motion Tactic with the sole purpose of determining whether or not my project and business was realistic for me to pursue or not. Tyler and his team at Motion Tactic set up a discovery project plan to determine what the cost and roadmap would look like in order to accomplish goals.
I meet with their team multiple times via zoom conference calls where we dove into detail and worked together to determine what exactly I was looking for in my website. Together, we built wireframes for to get an idea of what it would look like and what feature would be required.
After the discovery project was complete, Tyler and his team presented a very detailed proposal of what all would be included in the creation of my website and what the cost for each individual feature would be. I was blown away the entire discovery process and couldn't have asked for better results.
The team presented me with clear and concise information of what it require to get my website and business up and running.I am currently waiting on business funding in order to continue the project with Motion Tactic and get the full website built.
Tyler and his team are incredible to work with and I would recommend them to anyone looking to learn more about what it would cost and take to build the dynamic website of their dreams!

They were very open to listening to my opinions and suggestions and worked with me to help me understand the process as a whole as I am not a tech or website person myself.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The personal relationship I felt right away from the first meeting. They made me feel heard and valued as a client and I felt they wanted what was best for me and my website not what was best for them and their profits.

Web Dev, Design & Maintenance for Nonprofit Organization
“Their team is fully invested in helping their clients succeed.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a consultant for a nonprofit organization that provides free surgery for congenital disabilities or burn injuries to kids in countries without the required medical care capabilities. Currently, we have seven live sites, and we’re launching a handful more. In my role, I oversee all of our websites, manage their content, direct their design, and oversee the web development process.
What challenge were you trying to address with Motion Tactic?
Currently, we’re in the process of redeveloping all of our organization’s websites. Our older websites had — and continue to have — a lot of problems. Therefore, we needed someone to rebuild them, as well as to manage our existing websites using best practices in the industry.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Motion Tactic has been helping us redesign and redevelop our websites while providing maintenance to our older websites to keep them alive in the meantime. Their team has been using WordPress to create these sites. Still, these sites have various scripts running to connect different apps, so Motion Tactic also oversees those integrations, using Python for coding.
Whenever we face a complex problem, Motion Tactic solves it for us. For example, they’ve helped us fix API issues. Currently, we’re going through a security audit for our APIs that their team is working on to ensure we have the industry’s best practices in place.
In addition to website development, Motion Tactic has been a critical part of our website design efforts. Currently, we’re getting our branding redone to be ADA-compliant (Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design), a requirement needed to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 3.0, the current web standards for design.
In that regard, Motion Tactic has worked with our in-house designers and me to ensure we meet those standards. For example, I was tasked with learning ADA compliance requirements in detail to guide our team, for which I needed training. Motion Tactic provided us with pointers throughout the training process. Since then, they’ve tested the branding designs we’ve developed to ensure ADA compliance. Moreover, their own design team has taken our new branding designs to design the entire websites we’ve been working on.
What is the team composition?
We work with two main points of contact from Motion Tactic: Jessi (Director of Operations) and Aiyana (Account Manager). However, we also have direct contact with the developers to discuss more complex issues.
How did you come to work with Motion Tactic?
I wasn’t part of the hiring process, so I wasn’t the final decision-maker. Still, I know that another consultant on our team had worked a lot with them, so he highly recommended them. My organization still launched an RFP to different web development agencies, and Motion Tactic provided the most competitive bid.
Their team started working for us on website maintenance before I joined the company. Once I joined, we launched the website redevelopment project, for which Motion Tactic also had to bid. Having worked with them on the maintenance side of things, I highly recommend using them for web development because I thought they were fantastic. The rest of the team agreed, so Motion Tactic also won the bid for this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with the organization in June 2022, and Motion Tactic was already working for us. I believe they joined around spring 2022. Our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Motion Tactic has been excellent at keeping our current sites alive while developing brand-new websites to replace them. They’ve achieved all of our requirements, and we’ve also achieved the accessibility and design compliance we wanted.
Our previous websites had major functionality flaws — a handful of features were broken. Since they joined, Motion Tactic has helped us fix those issues. Overall, we’ve been very thrilled with their work, and we highly recommend them.
How did Motion Tactic perform from a project management standpoint?
Motion Tactic has been hitting our deadlines, which is great. Whenever we have issues, they’re very fast at solving them. Jessi and Aiyana collaborate to manage our project. Depending on their availability, either one or the other answers our messages. Moreover, they both do an excellent job of keeping everything up to speed.
As for collaboration tools, we use Asana for project management. We also use email, Slack, and Zoom to communicate when needed, but we try to keep our communication regarding specific tasks in Asana. Moreover, Motion Tactic uses GitHub on their end, although we don’t use it. We trust them to manage that side, and they do a fantastic job in that regard.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Motion Tactic provides excellent websites for a very reasonable cost, and they’re excellent team players. Their team is fully invested in helping their clients succeed.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When it comes to areas of opportunity, Motion Tactic has gone above and beyond to fix issues, work things out, and make adjustments to improve. For example, there have been times when we’ve requested them to improve some communication processes, and they have.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you consider Motion Tactic to be part of your team, your relationship with them will thrive. Communicate well, tell them everything they need to know, and be focused on the project. It’s very easy for developers to feel like they’re in the shadows and being ignored, and they sometimes need to make quick decisions. If you’re not there for them, a lot of problems might arise. If you come in with a team mentality and help guide the project, the partnership will go smoothly.

Custom Software Development for Large Format Printing Co

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of SignsRX, a large format printing company mainly focused on the fitness space.
What challenges were you trying to address with Motion Tactic?
Due to the many variations of our products, shipping took a lot of work, so we needed to improve our shipping tool. Moreover, we wanted to enhance the instrument our customers used to create their designs to purchase them.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Motion Tactic has been helping us with custom software development, including troubleshooting tasks to our existing software tools. They’re improving and redesigning what we already have, including our shipping and design platforms and home and product pages, to make them more efficient, concise, and clear. Their team has also helped us with copies and added a mega menu and pop-up options to our site to improve our users’ journey based on different types of customers.
We’ve started the process by going through a discovery phase where they’ve jumped in to understand our needs and make suggestions. After that, they came back to us with information and quotes that made sense for different tasks for us to choose from, taking into account the platform’s UI/UX design for our users.
Currently, we’re fixing bugs and errors to launch the platforms and then continue working together on other projects.
What was the team composition?
We’ve worked directly with five members of their team, including Tyler (Owner), Aiyana (Account Manager), a designer, and a developer.
How did you come to work with Motion Tactic?
Our previous developer referred Motion Tactic to us.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent around $45,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in September 2022, and the engagement is still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Thanks to Motion Tactic's work, we now have more efficient platforms and product pages, which we're about to launch. Everything will be more visible and easy to use.
Moreover, we feel confident about getting positive feedback — we're blown away by the results and feel we're getting our money's worth. Our team loves Motion Tactic's involvement and is happy with the results.
How did Motion Tactic perform from a project management standpoint?
Motion Tactic has been very clear in communication, and although we've had problems with them regarding the deadlines, we're working together to overcome those challenges. We always know what to expect, and they're very responsive whenever we ask them something.
Regarding tools, we're using SimpleStage for project management and Google Sheets and Dropbox to share ideas we can potentially add to our platforms. In terms of communication, we use email, phone calls, and stand-up Google Meet meetings. These platforms allow us to make comments on their work and give our approval if needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Motion Tactic has a professional and smart team that makes us feel we're in good hands. Their online sales and marketing approach is very clever and beyond our expectations. Motion Tactic's team has come in with the tools and expertise to develop great designs that blow me away, making them better than any other provider we've previously worked with and with fair pricing. Overall, Motion Tactic has made the process very comfortable and easy, and I think that everyone that can sit and chat with them will feel the same way.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It'd be great if Motion Tactic's team could figure out how to launch the products a bit quicker and communicate better in terms of letting us know why we miss a launch date. However, I don't see this as a major issue because we're all working hard to accomplish the goals we set.

Website Migration for Growth Marketing Company
"They had a solid understanding of web development and UX."
the reviewer
the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
Primer is a growth marketing company that helps disruptive companies grow faster through rapid ad testing and ad creative that converts. I am the CMO.
For what projects/services did your company hire Motion Tactic?
Primer has a proprietary ad and landing page platform where we've built landing pages for our own business. Over time, we combine multiple single-page landing pages into a website to promote our business. That solution was complicated, messy and bad for SEO, so we knew we needed to migrate our business onto Wordpress and consolidate everything into one proper website. We hired Motion Tactic to help us recreate our website in a Wordpress website.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Motion Tactic first approached me with a very friendly offer to have lunch. I was immediately impressed by their founder, Tyler, and his creative ideas, experience and understanding of growth. When it came time to find a partner for this migration, I was looking for a business that was well versed not just in Wordpress but other web development so they could easily understand how our current site was built and then be able to recreate it.
We also wanted a partner that could scale with us. We know that recreating our site is just the first step. We will want to grow it and change it, and we wanted a team that had experience and ideas to help us do that.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The project itself was simple in concept: recreate our existing website in Wordpress. They were so wonderful to work with at every step of the process. I was amazed at how EASY they made everything for me. They scraped everything they needed from our current site and the first version was a very clean replicate of our website.
We had a few rounds of edits that were handled in their easy-to-use review tool, SimpleStage, and everything was addressed in a simple and efficient manner. We are in the final stage now, launching. We have run into a few bugs with our lead capture forms, and the team has been very patient as we work through these.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I have worked with their founder, account manager, lead developer and director of operations. The account manager and lead developer were my main points of contact on this project and were both equally wonderful to work wtih.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We are just about to launch the site, so stay tuned on that! The seamless development of the site, however, is proof that this was a great team and outcome.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It's been very effective. We mostly communicated through email or their tool, SimpleStage, but the team was available for a call whenever we needed to talk live.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They had a solid understanding of web development and UX. They easily picked up from what we were doing and also found ways to enhance it.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
In this late stage as we're planning to launch, I wish we had more direct communication rather than email, but otherwise, it has been a great project overall.

Web Tool Design & Dev for Sustainability Education Program
“It was a completely unique project, and they nailed it.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a project manager at Arizona State University. At the time of the project, I managed a team of student employees working on a large grant.
What challenge were you trying to address with Motion Tactic?
Our team was trying to publish and host sustainability information on our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We met with Motion Tactic to discuss our idea; we imagined an interactive web tool to help users visualize sustainability. They designed and developed a web tool for our website from scratch. They used our style guide, which included our fonts, colors, and creative elements.
During the discovery phase, they came up with design concepts and presented us with wireframes. We provided feedback, and then they presented full designs. We provided more feedback on these and one revision before they started staging the designs on our existing WordPress website. Throughout the project, we collected information we wanted to attach to each concept within the web tool.
The tool acts as the home page and search bar for our site. They stitched together an interactive 365° globe and attached the concepts of water, energy, food, well-being, etc., to the globe; the concepts were all connected to each other. For example, food resources were connected to water and waste resources. The color palette they came up with is complementary to ours to highlight the new tool.
We met with Motion Tactic again before launching the web tool to ensure that the features were functioning as planned. We also made a few final adjustments to ensure the tool was meeting the needs of our users. Motion Tactic created a guide to help our undergraduate and graduate students manage and update the tool on our site. This way, if one of the terms used in the tool became outdated, we could update it on our own.
What is the team composition?
I met with Aiyana (Account Manager) first, and she discussed the project fit with me before we started. She also managed the whole project and was our main point of contact. Jessi (Director of Operations) coordinated payment and communicated with us when Aiyana wasn’t available. We also worked with Roberto (Creative Director) and Gareth (Lead Developer), and Tyler (Principal Owner) attended meetings as well.
How did you come to work with Motion Tactic?
We knew they worked with WordPress and would be able to complete the project within our short timeframe.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $27,000–$30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted 6–8 weeks, from August–October 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We saw an increase in site traffic and click-through rates (CTRs) after launching the tool on our site; users visited our site more frequently and stayed longer.
Motion Tactic built a really cool web tool that fits our site beautifully; it was completely customized. They added value by expanding the project beyond our initial vision. I think it’s the best part of our site now, and it’s a great learning tool, which we hadn’t anticipated. We shared the tool at a conference and received so many great compliments. Users were excited to share the tool with students or their teams to better demonstrate how the concepts within sustainability relate.
Our experience with them was incredible from start to finish. They were a talented development team that came up with fresh ideas. Roberto especially came in clutch; he helped articulate some of my students' ideas and made them feel seen and heard. Gareth created exactly what we wanted. We hadn’t seen anything like this web tool before; it was a completely unique project, and they nailed it.
The guide Motion Tactic created was helpful; I appreciated that it enabled us to maintain the tool ourselves. In that sense, they created a sustainable project about sustainability, which was kind of meta.
How did Motion Tactic perform from a project management standpoint?
They hit all our deadlines and turned around the web tool very quickly, which was very important; we had a specific timeline noting when content needed to be launched on the site and when we needed to be charged for their services. They stayed within budget and clearly communicated projected expenses for extra work, which made me feel very comfortable.
Each week, we received more information, which was great. They updated us regularly to let us know that a teammate found new information or had been looking into a potential solution; they let us know what they were going to implement and showed examples. Tyler attended meetings to ensure there was close attention to detail and that our needs were being met.
We used SimpleStage to share designs, and we communicated via email, phone calls, Zoom, and in-person meetings since we were nearby.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their vision and creativity are some of their best assets; they developed this tool from our harebrained idea. Their positive energy was comforting when we weren’t sure if the tool would come together.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, working with them was such a good experience.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Check out examples of Motion Tactic’s work and reach out to them to start the process. I recommend giving them a shot because they’ll do something great.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Actnet Solutions, a custom software development company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Motion Tactic?
We paused our social media and PPC campaigns and wanted to get back into advertising. So, we hired Motion Tactic to increase the performance of the ads so we’d get the most out of them.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Motion Tactic is in charge of all our advertising campaigns, including our Google, Facebook, and Instagram paid ads. All of the creative aspects, aside from the copy, which Motion Tactic’s team writes, are done by the agency that maintains our website and develops landing pages.
Our most successful campaign to date was focused on custom software development, which we execute for the healthcare, education, and government industries. We wanted to advertise those services effectively, so when we restarted the campaigns, we just started with a few keywords that were high in volume but low in competition.
Once the metrics from those campaigns rolled in, we worked our way up. We targeted more competitive keywords, which expanded our search volume. That campaign took more time to execute.
What is the team composition?
We work with two teammates: the owner and the copywriter.
How did you come to work with Motion Tactic?
I first met Motion Tactic at an in-person networking event in Phoenix, Arizona. They told me about their advertising services.
How much have you invested with them?
We invest $2,000 a month with Motion Tactic, so we’ve invested around $8,000 in total.
What is the status of this engagement?
After the first meeting in February 2022, our ongoing partnership kicked off in July 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
After running the first PPC campaigns on Google, our site traffic and leads improved. The second campaign has taken longer to see results, but it has worked well. The Google Ads campaigns have been very effective — we’ve gone from 1–2 leads a week to 6–8 a day.
The ads on Facebook and Instagram have produced some results, but it's too early to demonstrate the effectiveness of the social media advertising campaigns.
How did Motion Tactic perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve never had an issue with Motion Tactic’s project management. They’ve completely exceeded my expectations, delivering ahead of deadlines. Motion Tactic’s team used to send us weekly reports, but we’ve since moved to a monthly reporting cadence. Those reports, which include a Loom video, are sent through Google Docs and highlight where the ad spend is going and what is and isn’t working.
Motion Tactic is very, very responsive — their communication is great. We primarily communicate through WhatsApp; several teammates from our team and two of Motion Tactic’s teammates are a part of a WhatsApp messaging group. Sometimes, I meet with them in person, but we also have Zoom meetings and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I like that they take the time to understand our business and our vision for the company.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, everything has gone very smoothly for us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be as transparent as possible with Motion Tactic and provide them with as much information as possible about your business and goals. If you’re looking for a positive ROI on advertising campaigns, Motion Tactic is the team to hire.
After relaunching the website, the client saw positive feedback from clients, prospects, and industry peers. Motion Tactic led an excellent management style and provided timely updates via email and Zoom. They were helpful, efficient, and highly engaged with the project.
