Custom Software Development for Communication Group

Please describe your company and your position there.
Publicis Groupe is the third largest communications group in the world. In the Czech Republic I work as a Research and Analytics Director, having 25 data analysts, scientists and engineers in the team.
For what projects/services did your company hire MoroSystems, s.r.o., and what were your goals?
Our goal was to develop a software that would be accessible both for us and our clients and that would include all the information and data we use in terms of client-agency relationship. The software includes several modules that are also integrated with external data sources.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
At the beginning, there were about 10 vendors on the table to consider. After the intial meetings and first project scope estimation, we shortlisted 3 vendors. The crucial factor was a chemistry meeting and previous experience with similar projects.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Firstly, we focused on the project requirements and estimation and aimed to make them more accurate and specific, so we could have a better understanding of the whole project timeline. Also, we made clear about the roles in the project and expetations from both sides. We were happy that Morosystems provided us with Business analyst, that we were not able to cover from our side. Then we proceeded with the lowest-hanging fruit - the first module that could be developed quickly, without any blockers and could give us the most value at that stage. Although Morosystems were more comfortable with Google stack, we agreed to use Microsoft Azure infrastructure, respecting our global standards. After some initial learnings, different technology experience was never an issue.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Morosystems were able to provide us with all the roles that were crucial for the project, specifically:
- Delivery Manager
- Business Consultant
- Tech Team Leader / Solution Architect for all modules
- Business Analyst
- Test Lead
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The project is still ongoing and we are waiting for one major release, so most of the measureable outcomes will come in next months. So far, we released two modules, that we could immediataly start on a daily bases. The modules were delivered on time, without any major errors or bugs.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Although the venodor team were not familiar with Microsoft stack, they were willing to move the communication of the whole delivery team to Teams meetings. The communication was great. We always had the information we needed to have at that stage. We were getting reminders what issues to address or shloud be addressed soon.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I think that Morosystems was able to deliver a quality software, with main focus on delivering the most value for the money we invested. From my perspective, our cooperation was not only about software, but we actually improved some of our internal processes that were not part of the project. We're inspired by MoroSystems, s.r.o.'s agile development. They incorporated the framework into different projects. Morosystems were always happy to help us with problems or challenges that was not part of the projects (for example "how to implement introspectives into projects", "performance testing" etc.)
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The project grew pretty fast in terms of both scope and pricing. I think that most of the increase was caused on our agency side, since we did not define the whole scope precisly at the beggining. However, having the same project again, I would focus on this even more right form the beggining.

FLECTO – THE DIGITAL TALENT PLATFORM
FLECTO: THE DIGITAL TALENT PLATFORM
Flecto taps into the gig economy by presenting an on-demand talent platform that connects employers with workers who – for various reasons – cannot be tied to one employer. The platform divides full-time work into partial shifts and the platform users then create their own work schedules by picking the most suitable shifts.
The platform development was divided into two sequential phases:
- In the MVP phase, we helped the client to define the essential functionalities of the platform to test the market demand for such product as quickly and cheaply as possible.
- In the following phase, we gradually started to develop the features that proved to be important among the users during testing.
Flecto has been successfully designed and built from scratch by applying LEAN and Agile concepts of software development.

FLOWPAY - EMBEDDED FINANCE PLATFORM
Flowpay.io is a platform for smart financing of small and medium-sized enterprises; the platform falls into the category of embedded finance.
Flowpay’s goal was to get a minimum viable product (MVP) to the market as soon as possible and verify, at the lowest possible costs, whether their business idea makes sense.
The MVP of the Flowpay platform was created with the aim of maximizing the use of existing tools and thus with minimum development. The MVP version of Flowpay.io was built on the low-code Airtable platform. Signi tool was chosen for digital signing, integration of the involved backend engines is provided by Integromat.

SOFTWARE FOR BOXIE - THE SMART DELIVERY BOX
We designed and built the software solution for Boxie – the smart delivery box that allows you to receive packages direct to your door when you’re not at home.
The mechanical engineering company Hestego has been operating in the Czech market since 1995. In addition to its custom manufacturing services, Hestego also manufactures its own product line. For instance, they build and sell disinfection stands, information kiosks, and terminals or smart trash cans.
Hestego’s smart delivery box (boxie.cz) receives packages from the courier – so you don’t have to. Upon receiving the package, Boxie takes a picture of the parcel, weighs it, and secures the smart delivery box door with a code. When you’re ready, you simply collect the package.
While the client was working on the design of the box, we were responsible for the complete proposal, design and development of the technological solution. The solution we designed services tens of thousands of boxes, their 24/7 operation, remote monitoring and updating and their user-friendly operation by the end user. At the same time, the solution is designed to allow linking to the services that deliver goods using API.
The project is very diverse in terms of technologies. We developed software that controls the box itself – i.e., a low-level hardware on the box – the browser runs the React application and the backend service that calls scripts to control peripherals. We had to operate the mechanical lock, scales, camera, light, and the scanner of barcodes. At the same time we had to solve possible power failures, initial configuration and burning of the box. The box runs the Raspberry Pi, connectivity is solved via LAN, Wi-Fi and GSM module. Boxie is connected to the cloud – it runs in AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka and Google Bucket.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the Product and Project manager in telecomunication company.
For what projects/services did your company hire MoroSystems, s.r.o., and what were your goals?
However, the standard delivery of the solution did not meet the specific needs of our company, so we asked an external company to develop a custom solution that could handle our needs. Our goal was to launch a new federal tool for project and line management, including work reporting. The goal was to support the planning and management of demands such as Program, Project, Initiative, Request, Agile strategic team, for the management of line activities and subsequently for reporting work.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
The selection of the supplier took place in a standard way, i.e. through a tendering process. Based on references, we approached several players on the market, commissioned a case study and then evaluated the proposed solutions.
As this was a priority project, we also needed, on the basis of a personal meeting during the selection of the integrator, to perceive the willingness and motivation of the supplier to solve difficulties during the delivery phase.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
At the very beginning, we clarified the individual parts of the delivery that we handled from internal sources and that were handled by the supplier. At the same time, we emphasized that both the internal and external team knew the detailed design of all federal requirements, so that the entire solution worked as one unit, which we addressed at regular agile ceremonies.
The supplier team was always prepared and had studied the issue, including internal processes, and was able to propose solution options. We delivered in two weekly sprints, when we had enough time to test the delivery, debug any modifications and continuously deploy to production.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There where 5 people in the external core team, including a resource manager, a designer, 2 developers and UAT tester. Throughout the project, we had a stable delivery team, which was a very important prerequisite for a successful delivery.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The biggest benefit of the project was the implementation of a federal, unified solution for the entire company. It allowed us to set:
- New setup of PRIO bodies
- New types of demand & thresholds
- Federal project management
- Unified delivery lifecycle
- Common resources prioritization This arrangement subsequently enabled us to optimize and increase the efficiency of work in teams and the entire company.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Project management was at a professional level, all important milestones were met without surprises or turbulence. If there were unplanned changes or changes in priorities, they were communicated in advance, and we always found a solution to minimize the risks of impact on the launch date. Basic communication tools were JIRA and Confluence.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The whole team was very detailed in the areas we delivered. So they were very efficient in finding delivery options. If we lacked knowledge or experience, they were always able to consult the topic within their company without any demands for additional work.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The work was done in order, there were no areas that we would have delivered differently
