Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the manager of BELA Brand Seafood. We import and distribute our products throughout the country through brick-and-mortar and online stores.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mopro?

We needed a website and Mopro offered us their services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We didn’t have a website, so Mopro had to build it from scratch. They didn’t use a template, but certain functionalities are plug-and-play. It’s a static website — the purpose was to give information about the product, so we didn’t need it to have e-commerce functionalities.  

We provided them with the content, such as the copy and the photographs, but they created custom videos on location, which are featured on our site. They shot it at our manufacturing facilities in Portugal to show how our product is made. Mopro continues to provide maintenance and updates for the website.

What is the team composition?

I work mainly with an account executive who manages the project. They pull in a few other people as needed.

How did you come to work with Mopro?

We met them at a trade show several years ago. At the time, not many companies provided video creation services, so that’s what set them apart.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $5,000 upfront, then we’re now paying $99 per month for maintenance.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership started in March 2016, and it’s still ongoing. The website was live three months after we started working together, but they still provide ongoing updates for us.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website Mopro made is good and people enjoy it. We measure the success of the site just by the look and feel of it, uptime, downtime, and inbound requests.

We like that the website isn’t just based on a template. It’s also great that some elements on the website are plug-and-play — that makes it easy to add useful features, like a contact form.

How did Mopro perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very service-oriented and all deadlines are met on time. We communicate primarily via email. When they were building the website, we were meeting three times a  week — since the site was published, we only communicate about thrice a year now for updates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They offer ongoing services, which is good. However, what really differentiated them at the time were their video solutions. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think the website technology they used is a little dated now, especially with all the different modalities like social media. They also have to be the ones to update it — it’s not so intuitive that I could make my own updates. Nevertheless, their service is very good.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to make sure you settle the pricing and contract terms with them upfront before starting any work.
