To The Moon used Apple’s AR kit and other design platforms in development of 3-D augmented reality models for iOS apps.

The apps containing the AR components are live and generating revenue. To The Moon was able work with an aggressive timeline while still delivering high-quality products. Their promptitude and price model both made for a positive vendor experience.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of a marketplace for iOS and Android personalization applications.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with To The Moon?

The marketplace is a new product within our existing personalization apps. The content in those apps has previously all been user-generated and available for free. The new, premium section of the app features licensed, monetized content. We can split all revenue with the artists.

Since we were trying to turn a free app into one that also included paid content, we wanted to introduce new content types that felt premium (i.e., no expectation on the customer’s behalf that these content types can be found for free elsewhere). We partenered with To The Moon to develop some 3-D augmented reality (AR) figures.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

To The Moon provided our first batch of 3-D AR models for iOS. They used Apple’s AR kit and various 3-D design platforms. They delivered the content as OBJ files.

What is the team composition?

I work with three people but mainly interact with one point of contact. We negotiate the terms and he assigns the work to various designers on his team.

How did you come to work with To The Moon?

I investigated 6–10 3-D design companies and negotiated with four of them. To The Moon had the best combination of quality products and reasonable pricing.

They work they’ve delivered is high quality. It’s live and generating revenue in a customer-facing mobile app.

We communicate via email and phone. They’re incredibly prompt and work on a highly aggressive delivery schedule. They’ve hit all our milestones.

No. They just need to keep doing what they’re doing.

I suggest people use them and try to get to them before they get too busy.
