Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of Lean Start Labs. We are a software development agency that works with a lot of early-stage entrepreneurs in the app and tech space to help them get off the ground with their ideas.

What challenge were you trying to address with Moloney Consulting?

Our company had tried a couple of marketing methods and channels on our own before working with Moloney Consulting, but the results that we received from those efforts were very mediocre.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The majority of our project has been composed of two elements, campaign strategy development and then actual ad execution. All of our ad spend is being focused on Facebook so that the management is as focused as possible.

Our team collaborated closely with them to build out landing pages, write copy and put content together, and even film some videos to use for their advertising efforts. Since that has gone so well, we might think about expanding to other channels, but their specialization is Facebook ads, so that has been our priority for the moment.

How did you come to work with Moloney Consulting?

We saw an ad for Moloney Consulting on Facebook, and the ad copy and focus of their methods were very relevant to what we do, so we decided to reach out to him to try to revamp our advertising efforts as a whole. After talking with their team for a while, they seemed like a good fit for the project, so we decided to go with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The setup for the project cost around $1,500, and the management fees and ad budget are another $3,000, so in total, we have spent around $4,500 and are planning to spend another $3,000 per month going forward.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019 and the campaign is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The number of leads generated per day has exceeded our expectations, especially for this early on in the project. We have never seen the number of leads coming in per day that we have now before working with Moloney Consulting.

Another metric is the ROI, which at this rate we are expecting to be at least two times our original investment. On top of that, the cost per lead acquisition has been relatively low, to the point where we are spending nearly a third of what we had previously budgeted.

How did Moloney Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything has been pretty smooth and on time so far. They keep things simple for us, which helps a lot to stay on schedule and keep everyone on the same page. We use a spreadsheet to track our efforts more manually, but everything else can just be managed through Facebook because of the robust set of campaign management and analytics tools that they have on-site.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team really knows their stuff. It’s clear they’ve built up a lot of expertise in their field over time, which shows in their own lead generation. They’ve been there, done that, and that’s one of the reasons I chose them originally and it has really paid off in the results.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think customizing the spreadsheet to our own campaign a little bit more would have avoided some confusion, but after the first couple of weeks, we were able to talk and clear up some of the terminology and definitions that we were using.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Visibility and hits on our website increased. Our marketing concept has been created and is in a very good state at the moment.

We always found times where we were able to share our thoughts, held video/ phone conversations.

I would lie to say no. Because it is a comprehensive field and audience (our target group) is changing in some way all day. So we always have to adapt and keep flexible alsways with the focus of transmitting our key message.

We haven’t started running the ads yet, so I don’t have any metrics to speak of. However, Moloney Consulting has done more than I originally expected them too, which is great. We’ve had a pleasant experience.
