A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the former IOT business unit manager at an internet services company. We initiated, consulted, and implemented IOT projects for our clients.
What challenge were you trying to address with moblers?
We brought on moblers for two IOT projects. One was a software development project and another incorporated machine learning functions. They helped us support the requirements of our clients.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, we introduced the challenge to moblers to ensure they could work with us. We had an ideation process with the client where we outlined their requirements. After drawing out the scope of work with the client, we received their terms and conditions. Then, moblers started the project, working in an agile way with short iterations between deliverables.
What is the team composition?
For the software project, we worked with one project manager and he worked with two developers. For the other project, we worked with 3–5 specialists on hardware and software development as well as project management.
How did you come to work with moblers?
I couldn’t say, as we look for various vendors to augment our in-house capabilities all the time.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement began and ended in 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
For one of the projects, customers stopped working with us because of an issue with their operations. In the other case, we completed a phase of the design, it was sent abroad for testing, and the client intended to start the second part. However, I had left the company at that point so I can’t offer insight.
How did moblers perform from a project management standpoint?
I didn’t have any problems with their project management. They cooperated well with other workers, and it was a good relationship.
We worked very closely with the team throughout the iterations, which ranged from two weeks to one month. There was a presentation with the client after each iteration where the client would approve the deliverable and prioritize plans for the next iteration.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They had a professional working style with respect to development and architecture, and they delivered products on time. They provide a methodology and professional workers, so clients only have to follow the path provided.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have anything in mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Potential clients should go ahead and hire moblers.

iOS & Android App Dev for Virtual Shoe Company

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am a co-founder of Fitfully, a company that looks to solve the pains of buying shoes online.
What challenge were you trying to address with moblers?
Our company came up with an algorithm that would allow users to scan their foot with their mobile phone, which would then produce a 3D model. We then worked with shoe brands to obtain shoe data that allows us to match user models to shoes in an attempt to mimic the in-store experience. We engaged moblers to build the application to facilitate this entire interaction.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We held a series of discovery calls to detail what we envisioned, but we heavily leaned on their experience and allowed them to adapt it to our use case. moblers developed the application for iOs and Android over 2–3 months. We saw their progress every two weeks and tested the product internally.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 3–4 people.
How did you come to work with moblers?
We received a handful of recommendations and met with three firms. We connected quickly with moblers because they were unlike the other vendors. The other companies referred us to Apple developer forums, for example, to determine what we could or could not do. By comparison, moblers was helpful and proactive from the start.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about 120,000 Shekels (approximately ($33,300 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement spanned 12 months during 2016–2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Thanks to moblers’ work and the new application, we secured a partnership with an international shoe brand based in Germany, with whom we have conducted many field experiments.
How did moblers perform from a project management standpoint?
Communication with a vendor is always very important to me, and moblers was excellent all around. They made it very easy for us to collaborate and share ideas. I’d receive notifications through Jira when there was work for me to review, and I wrote my comments in the same space. Shortly after, I’d learn that the issue had been resolved. moblers managed the project in such a way that I didn’t have to call them all the time, which I appreciated.
What did you find most impressive about them?
moblers was transparent at every turn. When we wanted to make changes, they were honest about the cost and UI/UX performance ramifications.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we worked very well together.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I have no advice other than to be honest about what you need. Building an application is a challenge, so it’s crucial to be straightforward about what you expect and want.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of one of the biggest mobile sports apps in the world. It’s basically a one-stop-shop for sports that offers personalized content.
What challenge were you trying to address with moblers?
We needed help building our Android application, especially since we still didn’t have an R&D team. We’d gotten some initial funds so we wanted to do things as fast as possible.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Based on our specs, moblers built the app from scratch. They worked directly with our APIs.
What is the team composition?
We mainly worked with Guy (Owner, moblers). They had 2–3 developers on the project, including Guy himself.
How did you come to work with moblers?
We’re both based in Tel Aviv, which is a small city. I can’t remember how the introduction to moblers occurred exactly, but it was through a mutual connection.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent a bit below $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with moblers six years ago, and the project lasted for about a year. The app was launched six years ago, after which we took it in-house.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our Android app is one of the most talked about on the Play Store. It’s all about the product, but we’d be in a different situation if the development wasn’t done as well as it was. We’re happy with the results, and they speak for themselves.
How did moblers perform from a project management standpoint?
We managed the project ourselves, but we were in touch with moblers daily. They communicated well with us and worked hard to keep up with our tight deadlines. Guy was great. He worked up to 15 hours a day when needed to be aligned with the schedule.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We felt they were a part of our team. They were highly engaged with the project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It was quite a long time ago, so nothing comes to mind.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a product management executive at an educational technology company. Though we’re located in Israel, we offer many services and products to students in the US.
What challenge were you trying to address with moblers?
For one of my projects, I needed assistance from a technical resource with experience in working with native applications. I was looking for someone to help outline a set of specifications.
What was the scope of their involvement?
moblers provided an onsite product manager to put together specifications for a new analytics software development kit (SDK) for one of our mobile apps. The resource analyzed the motivation behind this project, met with our stakeholders, listened to their needs, and documented their findings. Then, moblers’ specialist led discussions with our internal engineers and senior staff to determine the right solutions and wrote out a set of final requirements. Finally, the product manager guided our engineering team through the full development process.
What is the team composition?
We only worked with the product manager.
How did you come to work with moblers?
I posted my request for a short-term contractor on a Facebook group. One of the group’s members recommended moblers for the project.
How much have you invested with them?
We paid about $12,000 a month for their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We work with their product manager from November–December 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The product manager put together a comprehensive set of specifications for our engineering team. They’re still working on it, but everything is going well so far.
How did moblers perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated three days each week, and all of our interactions were productive and transparent. Everyone involved always had a clear understanding of the status of the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The product manager understood our business and our needs, which helped us establish a good working relationship quickly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything.
Any advice for potential customers?
Clients should set expectations for the project scope, deliverables, meetings, and communication in advance. That way, everything is aligned before the actual work starts.

Mobile App Dev for Incident Management Platform
"They delivered on time, which was the most important factor for me."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the former CTO of OnPage Corporation, also known as Onset Technology.
What challenge were you trying to address with moblers?
Our original application was designed to provide highly secure communication channels for government agencies, police departments, and healthcare institutions. It was developed only for BlackBerry. We hired moblers to develop a new iteration to our application to serve more of a B2C audience on Android and iOS, in addition to the original BlackBerry.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We relied on moblers to create a new version of our mobile application and rewrite our security stack. The design effort included frontend changes to the mobile app and determining a unique way of implementing a secure method of interaction and communication. moblers helped us implement a way to encrypt every session of the interaction between people with a different set of encryption keys, which was rare at that time.
We not only migrated to new mobile platforms, but we were also still serving the government agencies and other institutes with a dashboard that allowed dispatchers and management teams to send agents, doctors, or police units to a location with the required information to act. When migrating, we had to ensure zero downtime of the platform.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Guy (Founder/CEO, moblers), who also served as the lead developer.
How did you come to work with moblers?
I selected moblers based on their code quality, performance, security measures, and a few KPIs.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement spanned August 2010–May 2011.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our business was heavily reliant on this project and on moblers’ contribution. We tracked KPIs to measure business success—such as monthly recurring revenue and annual recurring revenue, among others—as a result of moblers’ contribution.
How did moblers perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team split time between working at our office and at their office. I requested them on-site time for stand-up sessions and product orientation. We used Jira, Skype, and Confluence as project management tools. GitHub was a very young product at that time, so we used Apache Subversion instead.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I remember moblers for their commitment and delivery. They delivered on time, which was the most important factor for me. They showed a deep understanding of mobile security and mobile development. That was central to our project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they did not underperform in any way.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
We were bound by a tight deadline, so we learned that the better we clarified our requests, the faster moblers could deliver.
