Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the COO of an organization that provides IT services, focusing on cloud solutions. We support cloud services with Microsoft and Google which is the majority of our business. We also provide consultation services in the IT sector, and we provide security and back up services and solutions.
What challenge were you trying to address with MMK A&A?
We needed bookkeeping services and we asked them to provide financial reports for our company, especially for 2019. Because of what is going on around the globe due to the outbreak of COVID-19, most of the governments made some exceptions for companies to provide reports in terms of financial and tax reports.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve worked with them remotely on our bookkeeping needs. They provided us with the required financial reports according to the Saudi Arabian government. We then asked them to provide us with the first-quarter tax reports for 2020, and we also requested the tax report for the second quarter, which we have to submit before the end of the month.
We were using a local accounting software, but they recommended that we use Xero. They showed us a demo and it was very helpful for our company to use this software instead, so we moved all our reports and data to Xero.
What is the team composition?
Typically, we work with one person.
How did you come to work with MMK A&A?
We found them through an online search. Previously we were with a local bookkeeping company, but there were certain services that we weren’t getting which was one of the major reasons we moved to MMK A&A.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since around January 2020, so our ongoing engagement has been around for about six months.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They are a cost-effective solution for us which is why we work with them. I’m satisfied with the services that they provide. Even though every country has different tools, they know how to do it all for us, which is good. They’ve been very supportive.
How did MMK A&A perform from a project management standpoint?
I am very satisfied with my point of contact, since I don’t like having to jump around to multiple people. I like that they offer one person to contact.
What did you find most impressive about them?
In Saudi Arabia, we need someone with MMK A&A’s level of experience to handle the certain government tax and procedure and calculations. A great thing about them is that they’re willing to learn how to do what we need. They did a lot of research and provided me with videos and materials on how we can achieve what we need.
Are there any areas they could improve?
So far, I can’t think of anything. They could have more of a presence in our region which is an important factor for us in the future because they’d have more knowledge about the regulations, like changing taxation systems.
