A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
My name is Claudia Salguero and I’m a self-employed, full-time artist and muralist.
What challenge were you trying to address with Mission + Theory?
I needed to promote the GoFundMe campaign that I’m working on. It revolves around the creation of a big mural I’m creating in town.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Mission + Theory produced a promotional video. We discussed our goals and plans, and they launched into full-service production. It’s a 3-minute video that shows me painting my murals over a three-week period. The team lead asked me questions about what my larger goals were in establishing this mural, the articulate expression of which would help me promote my funding campaign.
What is the team composition?
I just worked with Jack.
How did you come to work with Mission + Theory?
They followed me on Instagram, which introduced me to their profile and portfolio. They described themselves in a philanthropic way — as being not so concerned about making money, but building community instead.
That led me to call them and ask them for their help in promoting my mural. They were immediately receptive to my idea. I got the sense that our values regarding individual and community growth were very aligned.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project took place and wrapped up in August 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
My interaction with Jack was phenomenal. He was very open to understanding my drive behind creating this video. He was extremely sensitive, open, and sympathetic, resulting in a video that beautifully conveys who I am. It’s clear that he puts both his mind and heart into what he does.
The video has already succeeded in generating significant funds for my project. It’s a beautiful and moving piece that’s directed with precision. I was blown away by the quality of the images and the film angles.
How did Mission + Theory perform from a project management standpoint?
Jack’s communication was impeccable. He never missed a deadline and was absolutely true to his word. He was amazingly supportive in answering my questions and comments.
What did you find most impressive about them?
While I don’t have extensive experience working with other providers, I’ve seen others simply fulfilling a project so that they can get paid. I don’t get that sense with Jack at all; he’s generous and mission-driven. He will execute the work with conviction.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think so. I think they’re doing a great job.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend them. Just be yourself and talk to them, and they’ll work alongside you.
Mission + Theory delivered a stunning film that conscientiously portrays the artist’s identity, vision, and goals. The team lead shared the client’s values and long-term goals, rendering him a flawless partner. They demonstrated a genuine and steadfast commitment to the project’s mission.
