Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the director of marketing and operations for Men on the Move, a company that provides self-storage facilities in Long Island, New York.


What challenges were you trying to address with Mission Disrupt?

We were looking for a vendor to guide us through Google AdWords and Facebook/Instagram ad world. Our previous vendor wasn't transparent with us about the budget, so we didn't completely understand how the traffic was being directed to our website. We wanted to find a new company that would be more transparent and helps us understand weekly reports.


What was the scope of their involvement?

They started with Google AdWords, explaining to us where our budget goes. They only charge us for their services and allow us to pay Google directly, so we have a complete understanding of how the cash flow works for that campaign. They also go over the reports with us, breaking out the reports into different campaigns. That allows us to see how our campaigns for different divisions within the company are performing. In addition, they do PPC, Facebook, and Instagram campaigns, helping us keep the cost per click as low as possible. For Instagram, they manage both CPC [Cost Per Click] and CPM [Cost Per Mille] options. We give them complete access to our Cloud-based file system, where we have our written and image content, so they can take bits and pieces and put them together to make an effective ad. 

How did you come to work with them?

We found them through a personal connection.

What is the status of this engagement? 

We started working with them in June 2016 and the relationship is ongoing. 


What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've seen a drastic increase in leads. The first week we used them for Google AdWords CPC campaigns, we noticed a sharp difference in reporting.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great communicators and always follow up. They're very proud of their work, so they're happy to discuss progress and reports with us on a weekly basis. They've stayed responsive throughout the project and have never missed a call.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Despite being a small boutique agency, they're quickly growing their level of service.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Every time they find out what they can improve, they do it immediately. One thing they can do is apply any new benefits they're offering to hold the projects and clients.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust their intuition and don't try to control a project. Let them do their job and they'll perform well.
