Fraud Prevention
The client aimed to develop a fully-featured product—Console app—that uses machine learning to automatically detect and dispute fake reviews.
Mission Automate helped the client move from a vision stage to the concrete implementation of the product. We took concepts for metrics and created the appropriate mathematical formulas and code implementation. As the size of the data collected grew, we optimized the backend to manage a larger amount of data. We used a variety of technologies related to content parsing and natural language processing, including Selenium, Scrapy, AWS SageMaker, EC2, and S3.
We have worked with the client for more than a year to implement this product and fine-tune it for release. In September 2021, our efforts have come to fruition as the client has had a big launch for the first version of the new product.

Custom Chatbot
Our client engaged us to develop a custom chatbot—a series of general conversational abilities for an existing chatbot.
Mission Automate used DialogFlow to intake queries from the client’s chatbot that matched general conversational intents. The query is then passed to the backend, a lightweight Flask application that generates an appropriate response using one of several conversational APIs.
We assisted the client in deploying the new components and integrating them with the existing chatbot. The client rolled out the new features to their users and the users promptly began trying out the general conversation features.

Kubernetes Support
The goal of this project was to set up Kubernetes in an AWS environment with docker and swarm.
Mission Automate supported the client in configuring a Kubernetes cluster to allow RStudio to launch jobs using Kubernetes pods.
As a result, the client managed to enable horizontal scaling for their statistical computing team.

Image Classification
Our client approached us to help them develop an MVP—Console Web app—that showcases automation and ML when applied to sewing patterns.
Mission Automate developed an application that processes sewing patterns and analyzes individual shapes. We used an image classification ML model to categorize shapes and a cloud OCR solution to scan the text from the patterns. The application allows the user to upload a pattern and provide corrective feedback to the ML predictions.
Our client used the MVP we implemented to showcase to investors their vision of disrupting the sewing industry using ML and automation technology.

Inventory Management Automation
Our client contacted us with the need to automate operations.
We developed an inventory management tool for a Kevlar distributor so that they can better track the products they sell.
The main benefits for the clients from this project were more efficient and productive operations, minimized inventory costs with maximized sales and profits, automated manual tasks, and maintained customer happiness.

Alexa Skill
The goal of this project was to create an Alexa Streaming Skill that streams our client’s music service to their customers.
Mission Automate implemented an Alexa Skill that users can install to stream music from our client’s service. Additionally, we have automated the process for a user to connect their Alexa device to their streaming subscription.
The client has added a new channel for the users to stream their music subscription, improving customer satisfaction. As a result, more people have begun to use their services.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.1. Use Tweepy to fetch and parse tweets containing #{software} - from Twitter Vendor_Product_Threat Query List and #vulnerability - 20h I will provide a .csv list of common vendors to query and AWS credentials for your engineers. I am open to which ever architecture you believe would be best for this project but I really like the ones below. I want to have the ability to adjust the queries and would like for the entire stack (including anything used to build docker images) to live in AWS. 2. Forecast trending threats vulnerabilities and user response to such (#log4j and #remediation and/or #fix) - 40h 3. Please describe your company and your position there.
PiMios is an IoT product development company. My role is CEO.
For what projects/services did your company hire Mission Automate?
We were attempting to integrate a machine learning pipeline into our product ecosystem, and we did not have internal expertise to build the solution ourselves. Mission Automate built and documented our Google Cloud architecture that we could test and develop further.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We sent an RFP through Upwork. I found Alex had the background and expertise for what we were looking for. After 2-3 interviews, we engaged Mission Automate as an outside contractor to perform the work.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
They built a Flask application to ingest data from IoT devices in the field. The Flask application fed a MongoDB database that Mission Automate provisioned for our application. The MongoDB instance was connected through Google Cloud Platform to leverage Tensorflow for Microcontrollers which allowed us to train and test models based on the data we collected in the field.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We interfaced with 3 people from the Mission Automate team. I do not remember their specific titles.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Their work was high quality and fast. Unfortunately, the project was put on hold due to the customer's finances. We plan to pick the project back when funding becomes available again.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We communicated mostly via email with weekly calls to cover important details. They provided detailed documentation with clear instructions on how to use what they built.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The knowledge and skill set of each team member was very impressive. They can execute reliably with a clear set of requirements.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing I can think of right now
