Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of a golfing business. There are lots of new connected devices coming to the game of golf, and we are connecting them all together to be the consumer-facing aggregator of that.

What challenge were you trying to address with mintensive?

We didn’t have any development experience, so we needed a team to set up the platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

mintensive is developing our app using Go. It has storytelling functionality similar to that of other social media platforms as well as messaging, photo upload capability, and the ability to edit photos in specific ways. The next step is to aggregate data from different sources into those stories.

What is the team composition?

Boris (Founder & Product Strategist, mintensive) is our main contact and product designer. He manages a team of two people. My interactions with them were small, but from what I saw, the work they did was good.

How did you come to work with mintensive?

They were introduced by a contact.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent £80,000 (approximately $105,300 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with mintensive in November 2017, and the collaboration is ongoing. We’re still in the main development phase.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

mintensive has done an excellent job. We’ve had some bugs and issues, but they’ve worked hard to solve them.

How did mintensive perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication has been excellent. We’ve used a combination of Atlassian tools and WhatsApp. They deliver everything on time and on budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is talented and professional.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Any issues have been my fault. However, they could’ve learned more about my product and aims. A couple of features were more things they wanted to build rather than things I wanted to do, but I let that happen.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should make sure that the mintensive team learns more about their vertical.

We are a technical startup that’s focused on digital security, online identity management, and password management. I am the CTO [Chief Technology Officer].

What challenge were you trying to address with mintensive?

Our business challenge was iOS mobile development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have an online security product, and mintensive had the knowledge of encryption and security. They provided information regarding the best UX [user experience] practices and design. They used Xcode, which is the native environment used for iOS. We are currently still in touch and improving the product.

How did you come to work with mintensive?

We’ve been cooperating with the founder for a long time. We’ve known each other for four years. It’s always a pleasure to work with them.

How much have you invested with mintensive?

Our work with mintensive was between $10,000 to $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with mintensive in November 2013, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Developing the app helped grow our user base because we could publish our product on new platforms, which are iOS and Android. Mintensive helped us a lot.

How did mintensive perform from a project management standpoint?

The good thing is that we are based in the same city, so it’s pretty easy to meet. They were very flexible and fast regarding some meetings and alignment and communication. We communicate via Slack which is very comfortable.

What did you find most impressive about mintensive?

From my experience, I would say they are pretty fast and uncomplicated. We just sat and wrote down the requirements of what we needed. They evaluated it, made all the inputs, and made estimations based on the small information that we gave them.

Are there are any areas mintensive could improve?

There is always room for improvement, but as I said, in the beginning, they received almost no information from us. Regardless, they did a copy of our browser extension on the mobile platforms, which is what we were asking for.
