Mindster developed a mobile application to manage the care delivery for caregivers employed by home health agencies. The application tracks all caregiver activities and rewards them for performing their tasks based on the scoring methods configured for the specific organization. The application has gamification features for rewarding users and thereby encouraging them to use the app regularly.
The software engineering was planned and managed in 2-week sprints in a classic agile methodology. Daily standing meetings were attended regularity and tasks were managed in Asana. The product was written in Flutter, with Firebase GCP functions, push notifications and geofencing.

The team consisted of 4 members which included 3 developers, 1 tester, and a project manager (part-time)

They handled the project extremely well and accepted all our needs and went the extra mile in post-go-live support and helped us with onboarding new clients. As per our product strategy , we decided to develop a cross-platform mobile application within the travel/Lifestyle domain. We approached Mindster with the idea along with first few documentations. Based on the first few talks, we mutually decided to kickstart the collaboration with a focus on UI/UX design project. The challenge was to streamline the ideas, research on the right design methods and come up with an excellent UI/UX design for the app.

We shortlisted multiple vendors based on our network, recommendations as well as online reviews. Mindster was shortlisted based on online reviews, an excellent product portfolio that they had showcased online as well as a productive first contact call. Mindster was tasked with providing a Figma-based UI/UX clickable prototype. This was the agreed deliverable for the project. After the project contract was signed, we worked closely with the team to turn the ideas into clear requirements. The next step was to create a wireframe of the app and get approval for the same. Finally, the team provided us with different options for the UI and based on our feedback the team went ahead and created a Figma prototype as a final deliverable.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
4-5 members were working on the project from Mindster. Positions of the team members included UI/UX designer, Researcher, Business Analyst, Team Lead, and Project Manager. Our Interface for the project was the Project Manager, the role which was filled by a Management team member.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The outcome of the project was a Figma prototype, which simulates the app design. Design is very catchy, clean, and practical. One could clearly see the efforts put into it by the team. The design is done very neatly, and we were impressed by the work.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
There were minimal exchanges between us and Mindster, but this did not impact any of the work. On the contrary, we were very surprised and happy that work could go on without much intervention from our side. There were weekly meetings set up between the core teams on both sides. On-demand there were additional meetings set up by Mindster.
Additionally, the design team came up with their own ideas and questions independently, which significantly helped in finalizing the design. Feedback was always provided via Figma as well as by email. The response and the changes were mostly done within the next business day.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Our experience with the Mindster UI/UX has been excellent. They have been very professional throughout. The design team is proactive and experienced. The Management team also understood the challenges of Startups and worked constructively towards a long-term relationship.

We would definitely work with Mindster UI/UX team for any upcoming projects. If I have to say on betterment, then that would perhaps be to work on a shorter timeline, especially with startups - but without any compromise on quality and innovation.

How did you select Mindster and what were the deciding factors?
We were searching for mobile app developers in our locality when a friend suggested Mindster. We looked up their portfolio and were impressed with their previous works. After communicating our requirements with them, we decided they were the best choice for our project.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the IT director at C3, a French-based group with a presence in 42 countries, including the U.S. We have been a part of Edenred Group for the last four years, and have been operating in Dubai since 2008.
What challenge were you trying to address with Mindster?
When we started the company, our biggest challenge was finding software development resources. Rates are high, and attracting the right resources in the Middle East is difficult. Almost all companies outsource to Asian countries, with India accounting for 80%. Our requirements were mainly centered on mobility development and web business portals. In 2010, we were mainly working with SharePoint and other Microsoft platforms. We were not satisfied with our website at the time, which had been made by a local company in Dubai.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We chose Mindster for a complete revamp. This was a basic WordPress website that served as an information portal and was built using market technologies.
From there, we also started working on mobile apps in the financial technology space. Our main project with them was to create a payment app for end users. We developed natively for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
What is the team composition?
We have been in touch with a single point of contact, our project and delivery manager. The project was arranged by his subordinate, who collected data and system requirements on the technology side.
We also had a development team, but didn’t get involved deeply with that layer. We had a business contact, a project manager and a senior technical lead.
Depending on the project, we have had approximately three to four developers working for us. Some projects had tight schedules and requirements changes, which demanded that we go live within short periods of time. In those cases, Mindster assigned more resources.
How did you come to work with Mindster?
We found them through references and looked at the work they’d done for Indian companies. Mindster had built some excellent websites.
How much have you invested with them?
The mobile development project had a budget of $40,000. In total, we’ve spent between $50,000 and $200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Mindster in 2009 or 2010. We have an ongoing relationship.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
At the time, we were stepping into the market with real payment apps, which needed to be connected with multiple APIs and third-party service providers. Our previous partners found it difficult to complete these integrations, but Mindster’s approach allowed us to successfully launch the mobile apps. They have become the main revenue streams for our company, and we are highlighting them as such.
Mindster’s input and expertise enhanced our ability to work with large credit card companies and other APIs. This was the first time in the Middle East that a cross-border money remittance service had been launched, and we have tested it successfully with one of the major credit card providers. We were outsourcing the work, but from the card provider's perspective the work was being done by the C3 team. We showcased Mindster as part of our company.
How did Mindster perform from a project management standpoint?
We found them to be dedicated, professional, and flexible in terms of timing. Many of our projects have been completed by larger Indian companies. In comparison, Mindster has been very flexible in not adopting a systematic, Agile process. They didn’t insist on going through all the project management steps, but worked systematically from the start of the project to its end. They do have an Agile process in place, with systematic meetings, but we didn’t have these requirements.
We have used JIRA internally. They had their own instance of it, which they synchronized with ours.
What did you find most impressive about them?
When compared to local resources, they are very economical. At the same time, Mindster offers great quality.
Are there any areas they could improve?
So far, I’ve been happy with their performance. They have explored any new technologies we needed and hired resources if they weren’t available. I have no recommendations to give.
Mindster thus far has completed one solution out of the two projects — they've delivered the private booking app for drivers, which has improved the company's productivity, operations, and throughput by 100%. The team flexibly and committedly works as they keenly understand the requirements.
