I’m the founder and CEO of a company that uses image recognition to locate sneakers for sale in real-world settings.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mindbowser Global?

We wanted to create a visual image of the smartphone application, so they made a clickable prototype and wireframes.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

With the wireframes that they’re creating, I plan to go to investors, incubators, and other sources of early-stage funding. They provided us with a clickable prototype that allows investors to click through screens to model the experience of the app itself. I provided most of the sketches and concepts, but they brought the ideas to life through enhanced UX and visuals. 

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with two of their team members.

How did you come to work with Mindbowser Global?

When I first had the idea, I reached out to several companies in the image recognition industry. Their team found us on a forum regarding our needs. They reached out to us, and we got started. 

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent about $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them in the spring of 2017 but then took a hiatus from the project. We started back up in 2020, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They go above and beyond because they’re keen on getting context from us regarding my needs and vision. Their product is representative of what I wanted but also features a sophisticated UX. 

How did Mindbowser Global perform from a project management standpoint?

We kept up communication pretty easily through Basecamp, and they always kept me in the loop on next steps. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked that they were proactive in finding me, because I was used to reaching out to other developers. They were able to offer development and strategic guidance for startups. I could tell that they were committed to seeing me succeed.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything because I only have good things to say about them.

Stay on top of communication. Be respectful of their time because they’re investing in you as well.

Our goals for this project were beyond just "let's get some developers to do a project," we needed additional staff that could take on leadership, conceive of new approaches, and guide implementation of key functionality.

How did you select this vendor?

We had been in discussions with 10-12 development staffing organizations. We ran each through a series of multiple rounds of interviews and a proposal process. We narrowed down the list to 3 and commenced a reference check. The selection process lasted approximately three months before we decided to begin a three month trial with Mindbowser.

My company is called Keystone Technologies. I’m the co-founder of the app that we asked Mindbowser Infosolutions to build for us.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mindbowser InfoSolutions?

We asked them to build a mobile application from the ground up for us. The product is a project management app for commercial home builders. It’s a hub for them to bring contractors, vendors, and home builders to a place where they can all interact. In the app, you can see the status of different projects and tasks. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built iOS, Android, and web solutions. Due to their input, we ended up realizing we would need multiple applications for both Android and iOS. So, in the end, we realized we would need four apps altogether and a web app. They used React to build the product.

What is the team composition?

In total, it was a team of five. They all worked on the project throughout its duration. Our main point of contact on a day-to-day basis was Arun (Team Lead). They also had a couple of front-and backend developers, a UI developer, and another team lead. 

How did you come to work with Mindbowser InfoSolutions?

We found them through Upwork. I made a post, and a lot of companies applied for it. Mindbowser InfoSolutions was the first one to reply to it. They were very proactive, and they responded to everything really fast. 

Over the course of the first week, they made it really easy for us to figure everything out. They answered all of our questions. Also, I did research about their company, and they seemed to have a great culture. It became evident that they were the right company for us.

How much have you invested with them?

As of right now, we’ve invested about $35,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March of 2018, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a phenomenal job. The CEO and his team did a great job of walking us through the process. We’ve received exactly what we expected to receive from them on a weekly basis. They take care of their clients.

How did Mindbowser InfoSolutions perform from a project management standpoint?

The app was broken down into eight different sprints. The sprints were very broken down realy well according to the features and requirements. 

We used software such as Google Sheets so we could communicate easily. We have a master sheet where we communicate issues and priorities (e.g. issues that come up during Alpha testing), and they fix them. It’s a really good feedback loop. 

They always shared all the upcoming sprint sheets with us. When they were delivered to us, we could easily check the app. If it wasn’t to our liking, they’d adjust it according to our feedback. 

We communicate through multiple platforms such as video conferences and WhatsApp. They are always available. For project management, they used an app called Figma, which allowed us to see all of the screenshots easily. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Whenever I email any member of their team, I get a response back. Even if I email them at 4 p.m. here, which could be 2:30 a.m. there, I’ll get a response back. It’s remarkable how quickly they respond.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve had very little-to-no hiccups at all—it’s been a really pleasurable experience. It’s a really well put together team. We’d like to work with them on future projects as well. 
 
Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We talked twice a week about the project, which ended up being 4–6 hours per-week spent teleconferencing. Those conversations made a huge difference in the overall outcome. 

You should keep an open line of communication. This will be critical to ensuring that everything comes out the way you want it. If you can provide them with drawings of what you want your product to look like, that will help a lot.

Could you briefly describe your company?

I work for a subsidiary company of an international conglomerate.

We came up with a global commerce app that enables consumers to instantly buy products from any social media simply by sending a text message. Last year, we wanted to go into production before the holiday season. We interviewed 35+ different vendors operating in the mobile app space. We then systematically filtered that list down to Mindbowser. Their work looks great and this was one of the best decisions for our company; it’s working out great for us.

SOLUTION

Could you describe the scope of the project and what parts Mindbowser were involved in?

They constructed our corporate website in addition to creating our mobile app. At that point we shifted them to creating our infrastructure in the Cloud, AWS, Amazon. They have considerable experience in managed cloud services.  

When was this project completed?

It remains an ongoing project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

When working with Mindbowser, Is there anything that you would consider unique or special compared to other solution partners you’ve worked with in the past?

In our industry, the top three things are: (1) you have to be familiar with PCI compliance; (2) innovative, patentable solutions; and (3) familiarity with deployment and management of cloud services. Mindbowser excels in all three areas and they've been absolutely invaluable because of it. 

In retrospect, are there any areas that you think Mindbowser could improve upon, or things you might do differently as the client before approaching this type of project?

We usually work with vendors here in the U.S. The norm is that when you provide business requirements there’s an implicit understanding of what the U.S. marketing and advertising space looks like, and you cater towards that from a development perspective. However, if you were to work with somebody in Argentina, Pakistan, or India in this case, then the mindset is not the same. There’s a learning curve on both sides. For me, it was a great because I've worked with Indian companies before.
