A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a client services team manager that carries out marketing tasks for a digital marketing agency. We offer marketing services to companies across all marketing channels.
What challenge were you trying to address with mhf creative?
Our company was trying to bring out the personality of our brand. We were trying to bring our team to the front of the business via the website rather than have people call us to arrange meetings.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their team produced a storyboard, a selection of short videos, and a long video. They gave me examples, and I selected which ones I liked and which ones I wanted them to take out. It was very consultative. We went back and forth to get the right idea.
What is the team composition?
We worked with four people from mhf.
How did you come to work with mhf creative?
I found them on a social media post on LinkedIn, where they did a really edgy video testimonial for what they did at a university. First, I loved the fact that they were using education as a platform to share that because it shows their work at the university, and they’re looking towards the future.
Second, they cleverly thanked the university by using video, which they’re experts at. And third, I thought they very cleverly brought out their own personality, which we didn’t actually have on our own website. These drove me to contact them right away.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around £10,000 (approximately $13,400 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with them in October–November 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We did a listening huddle. Before anything went live, we showed a video to the team and asked them to make any last-minute improvements. They shared that video with their families to get some feedback. Then, we sent it to existing clients to give them a preview of what was going to be done on the website.
At that point, we launched it onto our email newsletter, social media channels, and encouraged people to click through. We measured success via the engagement it drove to our social media accounts, which was brilliant, and the hits on our website. We increased our website traffic and brand awareness and had lots of inquiries shortly after the video went live.
How did mhf creative perform from a project management standpoint?
I had a discovery form to fill out, which was a very comprehensive document that allowed me to brainstorm with myself about what I wanted. I identified some questions I didn’t think about. The team at mhf creative was able to extract extra information from my mind. By doing that, things flowed easier when I wanted to get the material together.
I gave them complete autonomy of the ideas. When I had a good idea, and they thought it wasn’t going to work, they would expand on it and give me advice on what they would do. They then told me how much it would cost me, and we went on from there.
I received a very comprehensive plan of what we’d actually do, which was great. We discussed the content and budget. The process was kept simple. It was really straightforward, and they were lovely people to deal with. They had great ethos, and their values aligned with mine, which was very important to me.
I also had regular contact with them. I didn’t have to question anything, and any questions I had about anything were answered straight away. Their team was reassuring about the next steps they were going to make.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The customer service was amazing. They were very patient and got to know our business very well. Their team also spoke to a lot of our clients to see what sort of things drew them to us. They weren’t only very professional towards us; they were also very professional towards our clients as well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would put in a meeting with them and spend a good chunk of time. Be prepared to spend time with them so they can get to know your brand and your requirements.
They’re not the kind of company that would simply have a call or send an email. The benefit of working with mhf is that they invest much time in you to get the information needed to give you the best outcome. That was very clear from the beginning. Their investment in time was brilliant, and they spent a lot of time working on what I needed.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the UK Head of Marketing for a Global IT Software consultancy, we have 7000 employees, and we're based in 14 markets
For what projects/services did your company hire mhf creative?
We had a request from one of our clients to help them showcase the work we've built together over the past year and help them celebrate everything that has been achieved. The work is complex but has a high impact so we decided to use a video to help us tell the story.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to help our client tell the story of the work that has been undertaken (to current and new employees), there are multiple, complex projects all working to one goal, so we wanted to build the story of the impact the work will have on customers. The video is for internal purposes only, but in creating the video together it also strengthened our relationship as we were able to pull out key achievements and highlights.
How did you select mhf creative?
I researched online for a video production and also spoke to a referral. Altogether I talked through the brief with four agencies. The deciding factors for selection were - understanding of the brief, rapport, past experience, ability to deliver in the incredibly tight timeline and cost.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
Once we selected the partner we went through the brief in detail. MHF took on the task of creating the script and storyboard providing clear timelines, asks and expectations. MHF then created all visuals, voice over recording/selection, music selection and animation
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Two people were involved from the vendors side, client director and the animator. The process was very collaborative - we used Whatsapp for quick questions and to share ideas and were able to jump on a call to clear up outstanding questions with little fuss (really useful during covid-19 lockdown). We had 3-4 rounds of feedback.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The biggest - and most important - outcome for us was a happy client and an impactful video delivered within the challenging timeline
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Feedback and communication was very fluid - the ability to comment on an animation in Vimeo directly for example saved a huge amount of time, use of whatsapp also made it far easier to provide quick feedback
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The positive attitude - and speed of turnaround - whilst maintaining quality output. We were impressed by their willingness to please and provide the output we required, it felt they went the extra mile - working at weekends, providing a second cut of the voice over and extra feedback rounds.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think they delivered a great outcome, and I enjoyed working with the team

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a senior brand manager for a business travel company.
For what projects/services did your company hire mhf creative?
We needed to create a brand video to help us maintain relevance during COVID-19. We needed a quick turnaround and a low-cost option that would still be impactful.
What were your goals for this project?
We hoped to maintain brand relevance during a turbulent time by anchoring this video on our website and driving traffic through paid and owned.
How did you select this vendor?
MHF helped another person on my team to create some event round-up videos - she highly recommended them to me.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
MHF worked closely with us to understand the purpose and goals of the video. They helped us create something that was low-cost, whilst still being polished. The video contains stock videos, home videos and animation. We provided some guidance here but generally speaking, MHF did most of the leg-work in sourcing footage and coming up with ideas.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
We worked with Matt directly and had four feedback rounds.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We're only launching the video this week, so no firm results yet. Internal feedback so far has been great. MHF have created something fresh and modern for us.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
MHF are super responsive - ready to hop on a call whenever needed to move things along. We never had to wait long for the next iteration after feedback. Any hold up was on our side, not theirs!
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Genuinely nice people. Open, honest, helpful, nice to talk to. Costing is completely reasonable considering the high standard of output, never have to go back and forth negotiating.
Are there any areas for improvement?
N/A

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of marketing for a worldwide events company. We’re currently doing online conferences exclusively.
What challenge were you trying to address with mhf creative?
We were looking for a company that could help us with recording online sessions, editing them, and distributing that content to our attendees.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We briefed them on what we wanted and how much editing we were looking for. They then came back with a written proposal that we reviewed. During the event, they were proactive in making sure that they had all the necessary assets. They did the post-production editing of the videos, and they helped us upload the videos to a cloud-based platform.
What is the team composition?
Matt (Founder/Creative Director) and Ciara (Head of Business Development) were my main points of contact.
How did you come to work with mhf creative?
I was referred to them by a colleague. I looked at mhf creative’s website and saw that they had experience working on similar projects. We also had a great rapport with them during our initial call.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested approximately €3,000 (approximately $3,422 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2020, and we wrapped up this project in June 2020. However, we’re considering working with them again for future events.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We got good user feedback. They even helped us beyond the scope of the project.
How did mhf creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They were great at meeting deadlines. There were even a few times where they were waiting on us so that they could move forward. The team was responsive whenever I needed them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their work is most impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so. Our briefing was very specific, and they met all our requirements.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear with the briefing and give them enough time to get the assets.

Video Production for Electrical Equipment Manufacturer
"They had fresh ideas about how to shoot the videos."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director of WAGO. We’re a German family-owned business that manufactures electrical connections and automation equipment.
What challenge were you trying to address with mhf creative?
We have a client in the UK with 391 stores and outlets. Biannually, they have an exhibition, and they attempt to attract 4,000 people to the two-day event. At the end of the event, they also hold a sales conference.
Our challenge was to work with our client to bring more people to the exhibition, get more exhibitors, and bring more value.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We did three things with mhf creative. We did a pre-event video where they interviewed our client. They created a video that captured the event, talking to customers about the event and products. Afterward, we did some post-editing videos that we shared with our customer base as well. We wanted the videos to maximize what we can achieve from the event.
What is the team composition?
We worked with three people, including Matt (Founder & Creative Director).
How did you come to work with mhf creative?
We decided to work with them because of their enthusiasm and what they brought to the table. They had fresh ideas about how to shoot the videos. I’m not used to video as a communication medium, but mhf creative proved their excellence throughout.
How much have you invested with them?
It was around £10,000 (approximately $12,500 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from February–April 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We won a prize for being the best supplier with the best social media engagement. That was down to the videos that were run prior to the event. We moved a lot of traffic to our website to the exhibition’s site to get customers to register. At the end of that, we won an award for all of the coverage we got.
We were also tracking our own social media and our contacts on LinkedIn. We were looking at the number of likes, and we nearly doubled our contacts. Because of the linkage to our client, it made such a difference from the number of shares and likes. We also increased our brand value.
How did mhf creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They were excellent at deadlines. To be honest, they were also easy to deal with. Even with small bits of feedback around the production or music, they were fantastic. The team always brought alternatives to the table, showcasing their past video experience. They also tried to immerse themselves with our client base.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciated their passion and openness. Their team was straightforward and effective throughout the engagement. They brought passion to their work each day, which infused with everyone involved.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, the attention to detail was always there.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
We went with an open mind to start with. Have a little bit more of a storyboard in mind for yourself. They were great at bringing it to the table, but we probably could’ve saved one or two meetings if we had more ideas ourselves before we started.

Videography for Trade Shows and Event Company
"They’re good at communication and hitting deadlines."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am a marketing manager at Hyve. We specialize in trade events.
What challenge were you trying to address with mhf creative?
We needed videography for our event company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I’ve worked with mhf creative for a couple of years now on the fashion portfolio. We hold 10 fashion tradeshows throughout the year, and they work as our videography team for these events. The majority of the videos they produce for us are interviews.
One of the shows we work on is in London. It is a leading fashion tradeshow based in London and runs for three days. We worked with mhf on creating and executing the videography. We interviewed exhibitors, and mhf creative edited the footage and provided the final cut four weeks later.
We’ve also done a video that was turned around in a day since it was the highlight video of the event. They will film throughout the day, then edit it and deliver a video that we send out via email and all of our social media.
What is the team composition?
Onsite, we have worked with a team of four people including an editor, a producer, and two videographers.
How did you come to work with mhf creative?
Before I started with the company, Jake (Producer), reached out to my manager on LinkedIn. It so happened that we were looking for a new videographer. We don’t tend to change them, but we wanted a new direction. When we got in contact with them, Matt (Creative Director) came in and presented to us. They had worked on multiple fashion projects before including Burberry and a couple of fashion tradeshows.
They came across really well. Everything that we pitched to them and what we wanted to do, they came back with new ideas. We wanted a new direction for our show, and they were keen to take that on.
How much have you invested in them?
We invest about £12,000 per 3-day show (approximately $15,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them about two years ago in July 2018, and we’re still working with them. We’re not in the midst of a project currently with everything going on. We have no shows this year, but we are looking to work with them again next year.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We always get amazing feedback about how good the video is, and how lovely the team is because they spend the day with our interviewees. The videos are always praised by viewers and partners.
How did mhf creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re good at communication and hitting deadlines. Event planning is a really difficult industry to be in because things always change and we have very quick turnaround times. However, they’re great at meeting our deadlines, and they’re always willing to adapt.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I would say the quality of their work is the most impressive. We’ve used a couple of different videographers and teams in the past and the quality of the videos that mhf creative produces is second to none.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Come up with a few ideas before you go into meet with them. We get the most out of brainstorming in a room together and scribbling stuff down on paper or on a board. When we first started working together, we would tell them exactly what we wanted and in the last couple of seasons, we have been able to get their input and ideas. They know our shows like the back of their hands now and it is great to get an outside perspective.

Event video production, newsroom live, webcast and interviews

How did you select this vendor?
We have used MHF for over 3 years at all types and sizes of events. They are our number 1 supplier for this type of work and we often suggest them to other companies.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
Multiple videos taken over 3 days in the news room alongside DevOps.com with speaker and thought leader interviews. Action videos taking in the key parts of the event for use in future promotional videos and photos for use on marketing material, website and social. 5 team members from MHF.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
I am afraid I don't understand the question..
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Fully sold out 2020 conference (over 2000 people and 50+ vendors). MHF play a huge part in the overall marketing of this event so we feel their work is integral.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Always a joy to work with. Matt and the team are professional and engaging. We would not have them as our number 1 go to for event video production, live recording and photography otherwise. Nor would we promote them to other customers.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Professionalism, the ease to work with them and their end results.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not that we have come across.
The client’s website gained more traffic and user engagement, indicating positive feedback from end users. mhf creative managed the project efficiently, helping the client identify what their company needs, and taking the time to understand what customers liked about the business.
