Meticular partnered with our team to manage the day to day development needs of our marketing site. As our relationship progressed, Meticular also provided significant support for our rebrand. Functioning as an extension of our team, implementing our new design system on our marketing site.

Meticular was a great partner to us, successfully launching new code each month and completing our rebrand on time.

James and Dustin were always incredibly responsive to our needs, giving us the flexibility to shift priorities when necessary as well as helping us efficiently plan our sprints in terms of both time and cost.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Meticular truly functioned as an extension of our team helping us to strategize best approaches, being forthcoming about obstacles and challenges that could cause delays, and being willing to work with us to stay within our budget. I very much trusted James and Dustin as partners and knew they would always give us honest guidance.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Meticular could have done differently?

At no fault of Meticular, we went a few months trying to nail down a system to use (JIRA, excel, Meticular's tool) to manage the workload. Once that was settled, the process went much smoother. I would suggest working that out right at the start to prevent any disorganization.

Meticular conducted a UX web audit for a long-standing client's website. In addition to being online for over four years, the website was managed by the same team. To gain a fresh perspective and provide recommendations for UX optimization, I contracted the Meticular team. They reviewed and audited ten key web pages. 

My main focus was on best practices, user experience feedback, and trend recommendations. I met with the team to review the site, needs, and our goals along with reviewing key converting web pages. A formal audit report provided a user experience breakdown, an audit of each primary page, and creative visual comps of the recommendations. Additionally, each suggestion was accompanied by a rationale, making it easier to present to my team and web owners.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The UX audit report allowed me to provide A/B testing recommendations confidently to my client. I presented the findings, created and tested the recommendations, and implemented the successes. All the recommendations offered by the Meticular team outperformed each testing experiment I created. The client was very happy, and I provided a better user experience for my client's online users.

The Meticular's team made project setup and coordination easy, and the bidding process was seamless. As I explained my needs and goals, the team was very professional and explained their expertise clearly. They worked independently and did not require handholding or excessive communication. The work was completed and delivered on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their expertise and streamlined process were greatly appreciated. They were prompt and efficient; I didn't have to wait weeks or months. Taking in the audit findings and recommendations was easy due to the report layout. In our final virtual meeting, we discussed the visuals and logic behind each suggestion in detail. It was a pleasure to work with the team, and they were very accommodating.

No. I was happy with our work together and the deliverables.

Meticular created an online public engagement website that connected to Qualtrics API. The site presented information and tradeoffs about options and gathered public input through a survey-like format. Meticular provided graphic content as well as design, user experience, and programming.

Almost 30,000 people visited the site and answered at least one question. Feedback about the site was overwhelmingly positive.

They were very responsive and easy to contact. Deliverables were often late but they worked hard to make sure everything worked and issues were ironed out.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Meticular offers a lot of value for the price. They are very responsive and communicate well. They also quickly understood what we were trying to accomplish and were able to create a great product.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Meticular could have done differently?

Meticular was late in delivering all aspects of the site, which meant that there was a pressure-backed time period when we were working to finalize everything and work out bugs. As a result, not all of the bugs were completely ironed out by launch.

I’m an executive for a fintech community bank that does everything from local lending to home improvement and construction loans. We also do fintech sponsorships, partnerships, and SBA loans.

What challenge were you trying to address with Meticular?

We were having a difficult time in the staffing market, so we were looking for a consultant. We didn’t have the resources for UI/UX design, so we hired Meticular.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Meticular was responsible for the UI/UX design of a lending application. They regularly attended meetings surrounding UI/UX development and created the designs using Figma. We had a previous version of the application, but we were building a second version and gave them the first version as a reference point; Meticular modified processes from there. 

Meticular also assisted us with defining user personas; they conducted interviews with all the departments that interacted with the tool and helped us refine some of the existing definitions. 

What is the team composition?

In total, we worked with five people. 

How did you come to work with Meticular?

We tried to work with another company, but that fell through, and someone referred Meticular to our company. We interviewed them and explained what we were looking for, and they showed us their portfolio with similar projects they’d done in the past. We thought they had a modern style and liked their approach. 

How much have you invested with them?

They use a monthly subscription model, but in total, we spent between $250,000–$300,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between July 2021–January 2023.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Overall, we’ve had positive feedback; our internal feedback has been mixed because some of the individuals on our team are resistant to change, but we’ve built more automation in the tool, and the changes have been necessary.

How did Meticular perform from a project management standpoint?

We had our own internal project managers, but the team from Meticular collaborated well with our managers. We used Azure DevOps as a code repository and project management tool. We communicated via Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They spent extra time with our employees who were resistant to change and explained why we were making the changes; this helped because we knew they cared about the project. They were also good about incorporating feedback into the design, and we felt they did a great job meeting our design needs. They came up with many suggestions and ideas that helped us create a better tool. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We wish we would have embedded them more into the project, but that wasn’t necessarily their fault, and overall we were very satisfied. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Try to help them understand the business in addition to the tool you’re trying to create. We wish we would have taken more time to explain our business in the short term, which would have saved us time later.

IdeaCloud is a platform for sales and marketing teams to present interactive and immersive content to increase engagement across stages, screens, and devices. My role at IdeaCloud as the Product Manager was to help drive engagement and usage of our platform, identify user needs, and implement solutions and features.

Our project is an ongoing project including the general design and usability of our platform. We also used Meticular to design new features including not only the actual design but user testing as well. The features they have been involved in have helped us identify and solve user issues we were previously unaware of.

We worked with two members of the Meticular team. James (the owner) and Gigi a UX/UI designer. Both were amazing to work with and provided great insight.

We were able to make additional sales based on prototype features we received from Meticular

The workflow we established was very effective. They were very punctual with any deadlines we had.

The consistent high level of design and responsiveness was very impressive especially for an ongoing project like ours.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would have been great to have a little bit more insight into the details of design decisions made from user testing in order to better inform stakeholders on why a design decision was made.

I’m the founder and CTO of Bloo Kanoo. We create embeddable livestream shopping experiences for the e-commerce industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Meticular?

As we were starting to launch our product, we needed someone to build out the UX design for our mobile application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Meticular created the UI/UX design for our mobile app. First, they created a prototype and conducted a series of usability tests with our target audience. They interviewed potential users to identify their desired features and then improved the interface as needed. Eventually, the team landed on a final design, which our developers then implemented into the mobile app.

What is the team composition?

We worked with four teammates. There were two designers and two people who compiled and analyzed the results of the usability test. 

How did you come to work with Meticular?

I had worked with them previously, and they did a good job, so we decided to hire them again. It was an easy choice to make.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $15,000–$25,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from October 2020–January 2021.

We had no issues with the design they created — it was highly intuitive, and our users adapted to it quickly. Meticular did a great job of creating a well-designed interface that made sense.

How did Meticular perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great, and we didn’t have any issues. The team managed themselves, so we didn’t have to worry about anything. They handled everything well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They exhibited incredible expertise and conducted in-depth usability tests to create the best deliverable possible. I had worked with several design agencies, but Meticular stood out because of their desire to dig deeper into our audience’s behavior. The team didn’t just want the app to look beautiful, but they also aimed to provide an excellent experience to our users.

I can’t think of anything they could’ve done better.
