We had an initial call to discuss our goals, objectives, business potential, and barriers. After the call, they created a framework and listed the required work scope to generate the highest possible impact.
They divided the whole scope into 3 categories:
Market expansion planning: They knew that our resources were limited, so we first completed a detailed market selection process. The Metheus team created a decision tool to compare countries based on various criteria. These criteria included current & future growth potential, our capabilities as a company, team and budget resources, buyer behavior, and competition. At the end of their research and scoring table, we identified the Nordic markets as a critical priority. We also identified niche sub-customer segments and created the initial implementation plan.
Business Development Optimisation: We had a team of 3 business developers and salespeople. They designed a training program to improve our lead generation figures, return rates, and close rates. The whole team and other operational teams participated in this 16-week training. We learned new concepts, embodied the perspective of key buyers, and their buying patterns, and implemented the learnings in real cases in our sales funnel.
Future Growth & Decision Intelligence: This category was full of new initiatives that we had not established or started before. They created the strategy and business case for new areas and guided us to the next steps once we had achieved our goals.

I'm working as the Head of Growth for Mindsite Turkey. Mindsite is an e-commerce analytics and insights platform enabling marketing and sales teams to take data-driven decisions by providing real-time price, promo, content and share of voice data of both customers’ and their competitors' products from different e-commerce platforms.

For what projects/services did your company hire Metheus Consultancy Ltd?
After our latest investment round in early 2021, we have achieved market growth in our home market, Turkey, with several enterprise FMCG and CPC manufacturers or retailers such as P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Getir, Unilever, Colgate and Pepsico. In early 2022, we had some early adopter customers in the Middle East with referrals from existing customers. However, we were lack of direction on which countries or regions to prioritize. We did not have any awareness other than our home market.
Lastly, we lacked knowledge on lead generation methods and communication styles in different countries. Through the project we did with Metheus, we overcame these challenges now. We have created a lead generation funnel that quickly catches the interest, addresses the pain points of potential customers and covert into our sales funnel.

We have known founder’s previous enterprise B2B business development successes before. We had several meetings during the partner selection process. Metheus team meticulously understood our current positioning, existing customer profile, team structure, capabilities, and targets before giving any proposal. We did not look for any other option when we were confident that Metheus could take us to a further level in our market expansion and being a global player ambitions.

Metheus team drafted a schedule to emphasize 2 main categories:
Building know-how within the team and empowering the existing and future efforts
Review the ongoing operations and optimizations through feedback and guidance.
They’ve created a 16-week scope of work to cover from advanced targeting to agreements and closing sales. We had consultancy sessions on market prioritization, outreach, marketing flows, content strategy, negotiations, and partnership structure. There were quite strong decision-making and process methodologies.
We customized those together in Mindsite’s way of working. Metheus team also gave several exercises to complete in the journey to implement learnings and processes. In each implementation, we had review and feedback sessions on how we could improve the results.

Our team worked with executives of Metheus and the consultancy team. Director led the project with us and team members participated in several implementation cases.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
After the first half of the project scope, we were able to identify our target groups in very lean way, getting in contact with them, actively communicating on business opportunities and having quicker responses. We’ve had several business meetings from different target markets, learn deep insights to improve our offerings and serious deal opportunities to move with our proposals.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had 2 meetings weekly and one focuses on consultancy and the second is on reviews and feedbacks of our operations. All materials discusses in our sessions were shared immediately by team. Additionally, we communicated over email regularly, and had prompt responses.

I would say that they are quite an expert on market entry, expansion strategy and have huge experience in implementation.
