I’m the owner of a supplement company in the pharmaceutical industry. We have several of our own brands and we import several other brands.

Doctors prescribe our supplements to their patients. Back in 2018, we saw that digital marketing is becoming popular in Indonesia. We saw our competitors go into digital marketing. We contacted a lot of digital marketing offices around our office. Our product didn’t have an exact branding that was quite there, so we were looking for a full-service agency starting at branding, including social media, website, and more understanding of the nature of our products.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Previously, our product was sold through doctors. But digital marketing helped that and we wanted to expand our online sales. They took our statistics of the product — Indonesian women 24–50 years old use the product — and started on social media first. We used social media apps and more to target them. We used Facebook and Instagram, with Instagram as our main channel.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

At first, we realized it was important to penetrate social media, so our first metric was followers and clicks. However, we realized that it wasn’t as relevant as our main goal was to improve our sales. Clicks to e-commerce and clicks to WhatsApp are the most important metrics for us and they’ve been meeting them. Their work has given us additional sales.

Their workflow is quite nice for us. We’re doing our own work internally, so their social media and other work is given to us early so that we can give proper feedback.
