I wanted to set up a website for my business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed the website and handled SEO. We also explored changing the logo but ended up deciding to keep the original. In the first meeting, we went through what I wanted to see on the website and they gathered all the necessary information. From there, they built the site.

What is the team composition?

I worked with two people, one who managed the project and one who handled design and development.

How did you come to work with Melia Marketing Limited?

I heard about them from friends who had used them before and recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent about $1,400 NZD (approximately $1,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since November 2020. The website is live now, but I can still reach out to them with any upgrade or maintenance concerns.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re preparing for a full launch in April, but even from our initial launch, we’ve had a lot of traffic already and a few inquiries for our services. Without any actual promotion of the site, these results have been quite good.

How did Melia Marketing Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

We typically communicate via email. They would contact me at the end of each project step to ensure that the end result was what I wanted. This helped keep the project moving in the right direction.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their regular communication and patience with me have helped make the engagement successful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything for them to improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you communicate well in responding to them. They’ll ask questions that will help you dive deeper into your ideas for the project.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the owner of an international professional development team specialising in child development, physical activity and learning. We provide both online and face to face training in both New Zealand (home) and overseas - particularly servicing International Schools.

Our original website was cumbersome and difficult to make changes. We always had to ask our website company to do this work which was expensive and time consuming. Our goals were to: Simplify the platform Make additions easily ourselves Work with a team who understood our business Modernize the look of the site and drive more people to it

How did you select Melia Marketing Limited and what were the deciding factors?

I had worked with Gareth (head of Melia Marketing) developing our new Toastmaster's website. We had great results, he was easy to work with, understanding of the needs of the club, modern in his approach and thinking and an easy guy to work with.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We liked the look of our original site. It was just difficult to use. Melia Marketing were asked to simplify the site, help us to attract more customers, provide a user friendly shop and help us self manage. I provided the scope of changes, the brand guide, wording and photography and Melia Marketing came up with the concept. We love it.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Two. Gareth who is the lead and Shoaun who did much of the behind the scenes work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I dont have this available at this time. I am working on getting Google Analytics working and will provide this at a later date.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We had a tight timeline and I was impressed with how quickly we were able to get this site launched. The team were very sympathetic to my requests and made changes quickly. I enjoyed the banter and empathy that Gareth displayed. Website development can be stressful, but Gareth and his team were great with the many changes and ideas I threw at them!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

So obliging. Nothing was too much trouble. In order for me to self manage, once the project was finished, I was provided with video to help me learn to use the site and make changes and additions.

Also - I have found the team very approachable, especially when unexpectantly (due to email server problems) Melia Marketing were available out of hours to assist with the problem. Nothing is too much problem for this team!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not that I can think of. I would, without doubt use them again!
