What challenge were you trying to address with Megethos?

We were looking to bring in a company to work with us on managing our digital advertisement, both digital search and display, for all our different brands for the individual practices we own and manage.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Megethos took on a few of the new accounts we had acquired, but now they manage a percentage of all the spend in the marketing department for all our practices. They’re involved in all paid advertising, specifically in the digital space.

They have done keyword searches, helped with analysis on historical data, and restructured accounts. They’ve worked on how we were tracking conversions and the structure of the ad groups and campaigns. 

The team also carried out multivariate testing, wrote copy and search campaigns, and did bidding strategies. For example, they ran responsive search ads, giving 15 different ad lines and body copy, and Google did an algorithm to determine the best. From there, A/B testing was done.

Their account manager is our main point of contact, and there is usually an assisting analyst.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Megethos is involved in many different areas. Lasik, one of the services we offer, has a very steep cost per click. They’ve done a good job of helping us stay within a competitive range, increasing leads, and lowering our cost per click. 

It was a challenge for us to see more than 100 leads for any particular brand, but they’ve helped us achieve and maintain that, mostly by changing some of the bidding strategies on our display. That is one of the biggest improvements as a result of working with them. 

How did Megethos perform from a project management standpoint?

They dedicate 15 hours per account per month, which was an important factor when hiring them. The team keeps an eye on conversion tracking, metrics, and methods using Google Analytics, among other tools. 

Megethos does a good job of itemizing what they did for the month, and what they’ll be doing in the upcoming month. They bring agendas to the meetings, which happen in person and over the phone. We also do monthly, quarterly, and annual lookback reports. The team is accessible and responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve become an inextricable part of our team, and I don’t foresee us ending the engagement. I’m very pleased by their punctual response time, and the way they care about their customers, striving to provide the best possible service.

I’ve voiced my interest in exploring the enterprise level of digital ads which is programmatic. They’ve started doing that this year.

Outline your expectations going into the project. They can do great on their own, but nobody should take that chance. Express what you’re looking for and what you need, specifically for your business, in order to get the best outcome.

They first set up Google Analytics, creating goals for online appointments and creating reports for me to understand our website traffic. Then they setup ads on Google and Facebook. They deliver reports each month showing our spend, bookings and other metrics.

We also meet once or twice a month to discuss the campaigns and talk through any promotions or events we have going on. They even give us recommendations on the site to improve appointment bookings which has been a huge help to our business.

The collaboration started 6–8 months ago and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It took a while for Keegan and his team to fully understand our niche industry and its terms. But over the past few months, we’ve seen incredible results. FUEL CYCLE had the best month we’ve had in our history, and that definitely has to do with our PPC and SEO efforts. The average cost of booking demo has dropped fourfold. We’re saving a lot of money and seeing a lot more interest thanks to Megethos.

How did Megethos perform from a project management standpoint?

Keegan is always super timely with answers. I email him about 15 times a week, and he always answers within half an hour, no matter the time of day. Our meetings are quick, easy, and informative. It’s nice to have a partner that’s willing to teach you new things and walk you through concepts.

Both the quality of work and the people stand out to me about Megethos. Keegan is always available to answer any question at any time, no matter how silly or irrelevant. His patience and willingness to teach us are appreciated. Plus, he’s there to make edits, perform site audits, and ensure that everything looks perfect. It took a while to get the right account manager. I would have appreciated it if Megethos adjusted for our needs a little sooner, but ever since we’ve been with Keegan, everything has been great.

Teach Megethos as much about your industry as possible—you’re the expert in your field, and they need that information to target keywords and deploy their strategies. However, Megethos catches on quickly once you do that prep work.

We gave them a blank slate, and they did a lot of the ideating. Originally, we weren't sure we could even use Google as a platform due to restrictions. They developed all the assets based on our brand guidelines, and they made sure everything was connected and in the right place.

Megethos helped rebuild our Google Ads account from the ground up. They assist us with everything from generating ad copy to identifying keywords. They set up different PPC and Google Ads campaigns for us. Every quarter, their team assesses our progress and give us recommendations for our next strategy.

My main contact after diving into the work has been Keegan (Co-Founder & Director of Strategy, Megethos). Although Andy (Director of Growth, Megethos) was my contact at the start, I’ve worked exclusively with Keenan since we started the project.

Clutch helped guide my search, and I contacted one company. Though they ended up not being the right fit, they suggested their partner for PPC projects, Megethos. We chose them because of that recommendation.

How much have you invested with them?

For the PPC campaign and analytics account set up, we spent $1,500. There is also a $1,500 quarterly strategy consulting fee.

What is the status of this engagement?

The majority of the work was completed between February–March 2019, but they still conduct the quarterly assessments.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

A major result of working with Megethos has been gaining a clear idea of the traffic our sub-domains receive. Additionally, we’re now spending our Google Ads grant more effectively and utilizing the funds. Megethos support has helped us create strong strategies and have a more informed approach.

How did Megethos perform from a project management standpoint?

Having one primary point of contact is helpful, and we mainly communicate via email. When we were setting up our strategies, Keegan would send us video recordings to walk us through the process, and he’d record his answers to our questions, as well. They’ve been very reliable and responsive during our engagement. If I have an issue, they go above and beyond to help.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their integrity and flexibility stand out—they deliver on their promises and are willing to go the extra mile. All of our deadlines are met, and they work within our budget. They’ve helped us create a structure that is very valuable to our organization. Additionally, their responsiveness has been great for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any suggestion for improvement.
