A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the former chief commercial officer of Fibronostics. We’re an algorithmic screening and diagnostics company for the detection of metabolic diseases, specifically liver disease.
What challenge were you trying to address with MedTech Momentum?
We needed help raising awareness around the severity and criticality of liver disease, specifically how Fibronostics technology can lead to easier, faster, and more reliable screening. Essentially, we needed to increase our company’s visibility.
What was the scope of their involvement?
MedTech Momentum handled our public relations efforts. They provided a retainer, all-inclusive package of social media management, SEO services, advertising, and web development. There was a whole variety of projects such as lead generation, videography, clinical white papers, and more. They produced print ads, digital branding projects, customer-based marketing, and portal development. I think they used Joomla, but I’m not positive.
The website development focused on building an API. It was comprehensive in order to address our main site and subsites designed around target markets. The portal software development resulted in a variety of products. The designers and developers built the portals for interactive purposes. For example, we would bring the software to corporate wellness fairs. Someone could approach the kiosk, put their information in, and get their results back in a follow-up email.
The advertising workflow was very structured. First, we’d have a conceptual meeting to talk about the best approaches. Then, we’d hold highly technical conversations to decide the next steps. Next, MedTech Momentum would pull some of the technical aspects of the content together and then run some concepts by us. Last, we’d review the text, messaging, and content before the ad artwork was created.
What is the team composition?
As needed, we worked with about 6–10 people.
How did you come to work with MedTech Momentum?
One of our principals and investors met MedTech Momentum’s principal, Guillaume (Founder), at a meeting. They got to talking and suggested my team visit them to see their work. We liked what we saw so we contracted them.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $100,000 a year.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement lasted from December 2017–April 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
MedTech Momentum’s quality of work was good. I’ve worked with a lot of agencies in the past so I have a lot to compare to. They were inclusive in what they were willing to put into place. By this I mean all of their services weren’t charged as an add-on or extra project. We paid a monthly fee and they provided a lot of services.
For me, the two highlights were their social media marketing and web development skills. These two areas really stood out to me. We were very impressed with how our Google search ranking jumped to the fourth spot for a certain search term. The LinkedIn campaign and blog posts also gave us a lot of traffic, feedback, and followers.
How did MedTech Momentum perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management was good. We were a challenging client because we changed our direction fairly often. However, they stuck with us throughout all of it. Their team was very responsive. They worked hard to get us lots of information.
What did you find most impressive about them?
From the get-go, we picked up on a great attitude from Guillaume. What’s more, it turned out all their team members possess a positive outlook. I’ll also reiterate how much I like their comprehensive, holistic approach. It was clear that they were there as our partner to help with all of our needs. They didn’t separate or charge extra for different services. The engagement was a comprehensive package.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I advise you to engage with them. Go to Guillaume and speak with him. He’s a great person who is well-connected. Make sure to have a partnership with him in every regard.
The overall quality of the deliverables was good. MedTech Momentum effectively implemented an all-inclusive, cost-beneficial package to address all of the partner's needs. Their team radiated a positive outlook and maintained patience during scope changes. They're responsive and communicative.
