Welcome to the Medicine Show.

We develop creative strategies, campaigns and content to help brands find and inspire customers who share their values. Brands who are making the world more useful, human and interesting.

We get to know your business, culture and goals. Clarity is key. We learn about your customers, their values and their experience. Then we create strategies and messages that target where those two intersect.

We can help with creative strategy, campaign development, copywriting, graphic design and content creation. In collaboration with trusted partners, we can also provide digital marketing services like web design and development, search and social marketing, and digital display.

And we’re flexible to suit your particular situation.

Oregonian Marketing B2B Campaign

Oregonian Marketing, the marketing arm of The Oregonian, offers a full suite of digital advertising and marketing services. Unfortunately, most businesses don’t know it. To many, they’re still just a dusty old newspaper with print ads.

So they brought us on board to create a print and digital campaign with clear, smart messaging to begin telling a new story.

Oregonian Marketing Advertising Style & Messaging Guide

Oregonian Marketing, the marketing arm of The Oregonian, needed to develop advertising style guides to ensure brand consistency across all channels, as well as standardize and simplify ad creation.

In addition, they wanted ideas for a new B2B campaign, plus tagline development for B2B and B2C audiences.

ADX B2C Awareness Campaign

ADX — a.k.a, Art Design Exchange — is PDX’s pioneering makerspace. Besides providing accessible space to work on DIY projects, it offered classes, team-building programs, and nurtures small manufacturing businesses.

But after 7 years, ADX learned it had a perception problem. Once, it was embraced as an innovative leader in the maker movement. Now the shop was seen as intimidating or exclusive. The best prospects

hadn't heard about its supportive community and didn't understand its true value.

Add multiple competitors who’d moved in since, and ADX knew it was time to get back to its roots.

Medicine Show was hired to develop a comprehensive strategy and revitalize the brand.

Ren Energy Strategy & Content

Ren Energy helps global manufacturers power their supply chains with renewable energy, managing the entire process from discovery to actual deployment. It’s complex, and the next frontier in corporate carbon reduction commitments.

But a lot of education is needed to raise awareness around an area that’s so far been ignored, and persuade stakeholders of the benefits. Medicine Show was brought in to help position Ren

Energy, develop a plan of action, and create the resources needed to tell this important story.

Grovemade B2C Desk Campaign

Grovemade’s motto is ‘Find What Matters.’ That’s reflected in their product design, the care that goes into their work, and their desire to share that experience with customers.

Social media and PR had been big in winning over design enthusiasts — until they weren’t. Engagement plateaued, and Grovemade needed a way to get hardcore fans excited again while reaching more creative pros in the wild.

Grovemade Customer Testimonial Video

It's true -- Grovemade makes stuff. It's right there in the name. But their mission is driven by a desire to focus on what matters first, whether that's materials, processes, people or a singular vision.

Their products create spaces where creative professionals can find what matters, too. And the Grovemade team was itching to tell those stories.

Enter William Anthony, a Portland-based photographer who relies

on Grovemade gear to bring his art to life. We collaborated with Nomad Film Co. to shadow William on a shoot and get his take, in his own words.

Nomad captured the frenetic energy at Portland International Raceway, where William photographed the oil, asphalt and rubber for his series 'Time Slip.' Medicine Show provided creative direction.

Wayfinding Academy 'Maybe' Video

Wayfinding Academy is on a mission to redefine higher education. Rather than choose a rigid major from a list while taking on massive debt, they help students explore their potential, their communities, and their place in the world.

Because of their unique approach, they needed something that would clearly communicate their vision, attract new students, and get the community and donors excited.

It's the kind

of client -- and challenge -- we love.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CEO/Founder of Ren Energy. We help corporations, institutions, and government replace their dirty energy consumption with renewable energy.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Medicine Show?

We were looking for a way to be efficient and targeted in reaching our clients. We have a very niche B2B market for which we needed to develop coherent strategies and voice. Even though the brands we work with can be big names, the specific part of these companies that deal with environmental initiatives tend to be small and hard to reach at Fortune 500 companies.

What were your goals for this project?

Create strong copy for a targeted B2B sales effort focused around LinkedIn and website content.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I had worked with Michael Foreman of Medicine Show previously at two previous companies.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

Michael helped edit our website copy and sales materials and develop a cohesive voice for all subsequent content generation—white papers, blog posts, and a video. He also advised on web strategy and digital marketing.

What was the team composition?

Michael, plus an outsourced videographer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Outcomes include a much more robust and cohesive site that (in my biased opinion) is among the best in the renewable energy consulting industry.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Michael is an effective communicator, with post-meeting notes and snapshots and cover work done and next steps. Those were particularly helpful.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

No nonsense, direct communication, no coercion to do more or spend more if it doesn't help your business. Truly out-of-the-box creative strategy. Fantastic copywriter. Big thinker and can act as a high-level executive marketing head.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not really. In-person meetings are preferred by Ren Energy, though video meetings are very common in today's business environment and did not slow down our work.

Advertising style guide and campaign development.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed style guidelines developed for the in-house production of display advertisements.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

First referenced in

Describe the project in detail.

The guidelines educated designers on the proper usage of assets, visual elements and messaging to streamline production and ensure alignment with the established brand identity.

Cross-channel ads promoting news features, recognizing staff reporters, social media teams, special sections and newsletters, as well as general awareness of digital marketing services for advertisers were a result of these guidelines.

What was the team composition?

Medicine Show led the project with collaboration with local creative shop.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Traffic has gone up 800% MoM.
