We started working with Mainstreethost in June 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So far, it’s been a very collaborative partnership. Mainstreethost’s team consists of strong performers, especially Tom, who’s been very knowledgeable and easy to work with. We’ve also given them some side projects, and they’ve done a good job on those.

In terms of results, we’ve quadrupled our leads and are ranking very high for targeted keywords.

How did Mainstreethost perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been very responsive and reliable; we can always reach out to them, and there’s no problem that they can’t handle. For communication, we interact via phone calls and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed with their flexibility, knowledge, and ability to deliver on their promise. They also go above and beyond to meet our needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I wish we could have them host our website.

Ask for Tom to be your main point of contact; he makes the entire process very easy.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mainstreethost?

We hired them because we wanted to have a bigger presence on Google. Our goal was to appear more often in search results.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They were hired to perform SEO and PPC work for us. We also tasked them with increasing engagement with our page on Facebook. 

What is the team composition?

I usually spoke with two people from their team. One person was focused on SEO. 

How did you come to work with Mainstreethost?

They contacted us through cold-calling and got us on the hook that way. They offered a free 2-3 month trial and if we liked the results we could keep going.

How much have you invested with them?

We worked together from November 2018–March 2019

What is the status of this engagement?

The cost was around $1,500 per month. The total cost was around $7,000.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Their work was shoddy. We saw zero traffic coming from their work. We knew SEO takes a bit of time to work, so we decided to continue working together but I told them we wanted to be updated and informed in a monthly fashion. 

How was project management handled?

When I would call and ask for updates or analytics on the changes they were tasked with making, they didn’t have anything to show us. I never knew what they were doing because they never provided any monthly updates, which concerned me. They knew we were new to Google Analytics, so I didn’t really feel a lot of integrity. 

Is there anything that Mainstreethost did well or that you would consider a strength?

I did like the way they did the Facebook work. They posted content to get engagement and engaged with followers, which was pretty nice. That showed me that they were at least doing something on our part. However, they did charge extra to take care of that stuff. 

In what specific areas can they improve?

They need to be more transparent and there was a trust issue because of that. I needed to know what they were doing and how it was affecting our company. We weren’t getting that. It goes back to the way I felt the integrity wasn’t there. 

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Make sure, at your first initial meet, to have a clear outline and description of what you want to see. Demand to receive monthly updates on their progress and hold them accountable.
