Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a brand manager at a global FMCG beverage company, based in South Africa.
For what projects/services did your company hire MAGNETIC Creative, and what were your goals?
As a global brand, we have struggled with tightening up our digital ecosystem. We run a variety of sub-sites, ad accounts, campaigns, fulfilment partners and e-commerce platforms. There was very little cohesion between all these aspects, and we wanted to create a healthy, thriving digital ecosystem which remained true to the brand but also relevant to the regions we service.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched for a local agency with international experience. We also received word of mouth recommendations from trusted shareholders.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
Upon initiation of the contact, Magnetic did a comprehensive review and discovery of all aspects of our digital ecosystem. Magnetic built a strategy which aligns with our business objectives and began work on ensuring that we were building a healthy, thriving digital environment in which our consumers discover the magic of our brand. Together we have:
- Built a healthy email marketing flow
- Increased our site health and SEO scores dramatically
- Launched a global campaign which was received incredibly well
- Created world class content and blogs
- Launched two products globally
- Increased our follower base and created an engaged audience.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with:
- an account manager
- creative director
- CEO
- graphic designers
- analysts
- designers
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
- Increased site health by 26%
- Increased SEO score by 50%
- Increased site visits by over 50%
- Increased e-commerce revenue by 34%
- Increased follower base by 28%
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had weekly meetings with the account manager to ensure that we are always aligned on projects. Worked incredibly closely with the creative team. The workflow was always smooth and timeous.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They are extremely thorough with project strategies, budgets, and reaching key marketing objectives. Plus their creative studio will absolutely wow you with the efficiency and execution of all video and still content. As a full turn key agency, BOS is reaping the rewards of having a fully optemised digital funnel which means our consumers all over the world are eager to engage with us. Highly recommend them if you want to take your business to the next level.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The lack of an Amazon expert in the initiation phase was a small problem but this has been rectified .

Marketing Manager at a shipping & oil company.
For what projects/services did your company hire MAGNETIC Creative?
A full rebrand which included a new logo, new brand guidelines, strategy, visual identity and advertising.
How did you select this vendor?
We selected Magnetic due to their South African presence and award-winning work.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Research and discovery phase determined our KPIs and goals. They worked on the overall creative, messaging and brand DNA. This included a brand workshop and a brand DNA presentation. Next, they worked on a communication strategy and corporate identity, including audience archetypes, a CI manual, and overall design. They also developed all website content, design and development for the website.
What was the team composition?
We worked with their Art Director, Account Executive, Brand Strategist, and even CEO who were all heavily involved and exhibited their passion for the project.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have had positive comments about our website from other web agencies as well as people from our own industry. Internally, everyone is happy with the rebranding and excited about the next era for our company.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Regular emails which were always responded to in a timely manner. We also had weekly status updates in the form of phone calls or emails, as we preferred.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Strategy was top-notch. They took the extra mile to really understand the competitive landscape and develop a unique proposition. The film they developed was also beautifully made and they were very particular about having it perfect. In fact, we had approved it when they asked us to go back to make a few more amendments to improve it.
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
More flexibility with regards to our tight budget.

Lighter is a company with a cause. We produce, procure and endorse brands that will have a positive impact on your carbon footprint for our current and future generations. Lighter Balls & Rhino Balls Eco-Firelighters are two of those brands. Marketing Director - Phoebe Vosloo
For what projects/services did your company hire MAGNETIC Global?
Lighter is a very small company based in South Africa that endeavors to use our extensive corporate backgrounds and networks to have a lighter impact on Mother Nature through the brands and products that we supply and/or endorse. Magnetic was given the task to create a new Corporate ID for us that will be our Mother brand as well as a brand that will be able to endorse other brands that have the same values and hunger to make sure our planet stays protected.
They exceeded our expectations that was very high to begin with! They created the "Lighter" CI in such a manner that you can have a playful tone but yet serious message that carries through in the brands and communication strategy. They also designed our first two brands packaging with the incorporation of the "Lighter" brand to ensure there is a golden thread in all that we do.
How did you select this vendor?
We searched for an Agency that has the same passion for nature as we do. We did not have to go far as they were also involved with designing and supporting Rhino Conservation with a very strong link to International companies that support our way of thinking. Our brands are already available international and thus it was crucial that the research and work done on the brands had to be global and not only focused on the local market.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Our scope doc contained: Detailed international research on the market that we currently operated in. the outcome had to ensure educated decisions on Industry, competitive brands & companies as well as consumer insight that ensure correct targeting. Brand DNA that was born out of the research and ideas for the future of both teams working together.
Brand messaging were created from a signed off doc on where we all felt that Lighter will be able to take us into the future with sustainability and scalability in mind. The current 2 brands were redesigned and new packaging created that would insure we know exactly how we want that golden thread to run through all our communication on all platforms. All the work was managed and communicated online and kept up to date with weekly status calls and updating of our project calendar to ensure there was no delays.
What was the team composition?
We worked very close with Dean (Partner, Brand Strategy & Creative Development), Account Manager: Melissa Tuck, the Design Expert Lauren Frates and Russel Smith that made sure our copywriting was always on point!
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our new Corporate ID is only launching in the next few weeks in the retail space but from consumer research through Twiddle we already receive extremely positive feedback not only on the Company and what we stand for but in the disruptive nature of the brand look and feel that we are putting into the market.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Workflow was seamless. The online communication was great and we were able to incorporate all our workstreams with the integrated google platforms to ensure Realtime updates. Melissa was an absolute star and made sure that we always knew where we were at each step of the process.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We were impressed with their commitment to ensuring that we were happy with the outcome, as well as the passion that they shared for our vision.
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
In person meetings would have been great but due to Corona it was impossible and we made our interactions work with a very personal touch online.

Our company is a barbecue manufacturer with partnerships in leading retailers globally. I was the Marketing Manager at the time of Magnetics' appointment as our Marketing agency.
For what projects/services did your company hire MAGNETIC Global?
Our company has a few brands in which Magnetic provided brand strategies for. We needed a rebrand for our current brands, as well as strategies on going global with these brands. Magnetic provided brand strategy, campaign strategies, website development, content creation, social media marketing and digital marketing for us.
What were your goals for this project?

How did you select MAGNETIC Global?
Through quite an intense selection process. Magnetic presented their proposed strategy to us. Which we then screened internally to see if this could be a beneficial partnership.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
After we selected Magnetic, we had a series of discovery meetings based in our respective global offices. The meetings were to discuss our goals, key issues and to understand the major drivers of our business. From there they developed a full brand strategy and marketing plan for both of our core brands which included branding, creative, web development, social media marketing, digital marketing and content creation.

We had a designated account manager, however the partner of the agency was very involved and was in all communication.

Are there any areas for improvement?
In any industry, everything can always be done faster, but we were very satisfied with their work throughout the process. Magnetic delivered on quality every time and went above and beyond to meet pressing deadlines.

We are a shipping container rental & sales company, based in Southern Africa and Indian Ocean Islands. I hold the position of Managing Director.
For what projects/services did your company hire MAGNETIC Global?
We have been working with Magnetic for the passed 7 years on various projects and on this company as well as other companies we own. They have been able to deliver the full spectrum of services. Brand development, web development, SEO ect.
What were your goals for this project?
The idea was to re-brand our company and create a recognizable brand/image through CI and new website.
How did you select this vendor?
I found Magnetic through word of mouth, from a colleague (or friend) who suggested I approach them. I chose to go with Magnetic as they tailored a deal according to my needs and budget, instead of a 'quote' to suit all, which worked for our business.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Magnetic made use of current data to determine KPI’s and goals as well as brand equity opportunities. Assessments and information derived from the provided data became the foundation for the overall creative, messaging, and brand strategy, in which our Brand DNA was developed. As we continued to build the brand story, Magnetic developed the brand’s logo mark, visual aesthetic and messaging approach across a variety of platforms to ensure the brand value is upheld while advancements are made to create a brand built on purpose and promise. Based on the completion of the strategy phase and brand positioning statement, Magnetic continued with the creative development process by building the brand story with a memorable logo, visual and design aesthetic, corporate identity assets; something that was defining and differentiating. Throughout each process, Magnetic held creative workshops with our team to ensure key messaging was approved and improved on. Magnetic developed an online experience in which the overall UI/UX and design reflected the brand story to convert leads. Magnetic responsively developed all approved website pages and templates based on final wireframe and design files. Magnetic managed the creative and design aspects of our social media platforms, SEO and PPC, which included monthly analytics reports. Magnetic also assisted on an ADHOC basis from brochure designs to container sticker designs.
What was the team composition?
Magnetic supplied an Account Manager who was our direct line of contact. The Account manager was responsible to relay any design or strategic requirements we had to the Magnetic Web, Design, Social or Strategy team.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Keeping in line with our budget, Magnetic has assisted in lowering our web page bounce rate by 41%, sitting at 24% lower than the industry average. Platform growth continues to perform well with a 100% increase in session duration. There has been major growth across all platforms with increased reach across all audiences. An overall increase in 15% and a 100% increase in organic search. Cost per click also continues to decrease. When managing social, Magnetic had increased page views by 40%, increased engagement by 80% and increased post reach by 42%.

Branding for Software Company
“Our leadership and partners are happy with the work MAGNETIC Global has done.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the digital marketing manager for AVEVA, a company that makes automation and control software for engineers. I’m in charge of a team that manages all things digital, including social media programs, digital campaigns, and SEO. Our team is also in charge of creating customer case studies and success stories.
What challenge were you trying to address with MAGNETIC Global?
We’d recently gone through a few mergers and wanted to improve our Wonderware brand, one of the most beloved names in the automation and control software industry. We needed an external partner to help with the branding, and the engagement extended to other projects.
What was the scope of their involvement?
MAGNETIC Global not only helped develop the new Wonderware brand, but they also managed the social media campaigns as well as producing a few videos for the product. Once the branding was completed, they began promoting the software and a few related products. We even sent the creative assets to our partners, who use them on their own sites. They also began working on customer success stories and case studies.
After the Wonderware project, MAGNETIC Global worked on a few other websites, including the main AVEVA site. All of its design elements are a direct result of our partnership with MAGNETIC Global, and they used HubSpot as the project management system. They rebranded our company and updated the site to become a manifestation of that new brand. Other projects include event collateral, sales enablement tools, advertising spots, and social media projects.
What is the team composition?
We have about 20 people in total: 10 for coding, 4 for videos and customer success stories, 4–5 for copy and other creative assets, and 2–3 for project management.
How did you come to work with MAGNETIC Global?
One of our creative directors found them. We wanted a local agency that shared our same work philosophy and had the technical capabilities to meet our needs. We did a pretty extensive search and interviewed a few companies but eventually chose MAGNETIC Global because they met our criteria and also had strong project management skills.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $2 million–$3 million.
What is the status of this engagement?
We partnered in June 2015, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our leadership and partners are happy with the work MAGNETIC Global has done. The Wonderware Branding and Acceleration Campaign helped launch System Platform 2017 with InTouch OMI, selling $317 million of software. They also worked on other projects that’ve brought in over $300 million in sales.
How did MAGNETIC Global perform from a project management standpoint?
We have weekly meetings with their team to track progress and address any concerns. The creative teams also meet weekly in person to discuss projects and collaborate more closely.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Our company offers complex technical products, and MAGNETIC Global is able to condense all of that and translate it into concepts and ideas that customers and potential clients can immediately understand and identify with. Their team is creative and technically proficient, making them a great partner for both short-term projects and multi-stage campaigns.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could’ve scaled a bit faster to keep up with our expanding campaigns, especially after our mergers.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
They’re a great partner for companies that create lots of software products.
