We needed to hire more developers because we decided to extend our tech team. Hence, we hired MagicHire to help us find new developers for us.

What is the scope of their involvement?
MagicHire’s process of sourcing candidates is very straightforward. First, they conducted market research to understand better what we were looking for. We then agreed on the salary range, provided the qualifications we were looking for in each candidate, and described to them our internal process for hiring. From there, they proceeded with the search process.
They’ve already found two candidates for us, and we’re still working with their team to find new candidates for other positions.
What is the team composition?
We work with four people from their team. We work with different managers for each position that we need to fill.

I’m the talent acquisition lead and HR operations manager at ProFinda, a tech startup based in the UK. Many of our developers are based throughout Europe.

What challenge were you trying to address with MagicHire?
We’re in a scale-up phase and doing a lot of hiring. Our company is currently at 60 people when a year ago we were at 20 people, so we’re growing quite quickly. I’m the only person in talent and HR and needed some support because I don’t have a background in tech recruiting specifically.

We’ve asked that our candidates have technical skills and be a good fit for our team and company culture. So far, they’ve helped us find three resources.

I’ve spoken to about four people from MagicHire: Galyna (Lead of Recruitment Team), two recruiters, and an accounts person.
How did you come to work with MagicHire?
They reached out to our head of HR, and there was a good connection at our first meeting. Moreover, their terms and conditions fit well within our budget, so we decided to give them a go.
We started working together in February 2022, and our collaboration is ongoing.

I’ve been recruiting for 12 years, and positions can take up to two months to fill. MagicHire has found good candidates quickly, so we’ve filled positions within a month – they’ve never had a delayed project with us. Even with the start of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, they placed someone within 30 days. Moreover, the employees they’ve sourced for us have integrated very well into our company.
MagicHire is a pleasure to work with — they’re very responsive and nice people. The team takes the lead and asks the right questions. They get back to us really quickly, and they source quality candidates.
How did MagicHire perform from a project management standpoint?
We mostly communicate via email, though we’ve had some Google Meet video calls to kick off projects. They always get back to me within an hour or two.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m impressed with MagicHire’s level of service. Even though they’re going through hard times having to relocate due to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, we wouldn’t know that dealing with them — they’re very professional.
