Television channel 24

24tv.ua is a news website with large data sets. Today it is one of the TOP Ukrainian websites thanks to the automation of processes, optimization of editors' work and a comprehensive approach.

Luxnet developed CMS that provides efficient content creation for hundreds of editors and journalists. Content delivery processes are fully automized. For example, a content manager can decide what

should be uploaded on youtube, SmartTV, AppleTV, Android/IOS and schedule push notification or social media posts.

Work optimization has helped to scale processes and grow faster. To sum up, the average number of visitors per month more than 35 million people. 24TV platform is a good example of an efficient process automation solution that helps to produce, deliver and manage a huge amount of content.

Newsmaker Image

Newsmaker

Newsmaker is a comprehensive content management system that allows to organize the production of content for different media within one television company.

The platform does not require installation on a computer and all that is needed to work with it is the Internet. Newsmaker is well compatible with modern browsers.

A security system was additionally developed for the platform because of its openness. Each

employee has certain rights and restrictions in order to minimize the possibility of interference in the system from the outside.

The creation of a media archive is another important function for a video content producer. Experience shows that not any archive of files can exist autonomously within such a company. Therefore, it was decided to add some media asset management (MAM) functions to Newsmaker allowing solving tasks linked with storing, cataloging, searching, transcoding and moving content.

Teleportal - Second screen APP Image

Teleportal - Second screen APP

Teleportal allows you to access various data of the sporting event or TV show: participant, player or character origins, screenshots, and plenty of other additional content. Many shows feature their own apps nowadays, and while those tend to provide a narrower, more focused experience, second screen apps like our highly-successful “Teleportal” have a much broader appeal. Television shows and specific broadcasts can build their

own page on “Teleportal”, which acts as a database. Viewers can use the service to find their favorite shows or sport events and discuss them via social media, or to get up to speed on the most recent goings-on.

Shows can have their own "TV modules" within the app where fans can chat throughout the day, and interact live with games, polls and other features when they're on-air.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

    BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’ve created a portal where Czech employers can find Ukrainian employees. I’m the marketing manager of the company. It’s a startup, so I’m the only person in charge of marketing.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Luxnet?

It was our first time creating a web platform, and we had no idea what it needed to look like. We came with an idea, but we didn’t know whether we needed a software application or something else, so we went to Luxnet for help.

    SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Luxnet developed our platform using Symfony PHP, MySQL, Node.js, Webpack, CSS, HTML5, and Elasticsearch.

    What is the team composition?

There were 7–10 people involved, including three developers and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Luxnet?

They were recommended to my CEO by a friend who’d created a website using Luxnet.

How much have you invested with them?

    It was around $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Luxnet in January 2019. They’re still helping us create graphic designs for banners and ads.

Our company has had a stop because of the current situation. The borders are closed, so we can’t provide our services. We’re still improving our website, but we’ve stopped the work with Luxnet for two months.

Even though we’re not paying them, they’re still finding things that need to be improved, and they’re working on them. I don’t know why that is, but it was pretty surprising.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We asked for an audit from another company, and they gave us a really good review of the website made by Luxnet.

They created a website that’s really good-looking, useful, and comfortable for our clients. If we’d chosen another company, the website wouldn’t have been this high-quality. We got a European, good-quality website, and we’re happy with the functionalities we have.

We didn’t really have a vision of what we needed, and they offered us different possibilities and options all the time, and they worked like a partner. They told us what each option would cost and which ones would be the most useful for our customers. We didn’t get it at that point, but, after we started to use the website, we saw that they were really right.

How did Luxnet perform from a project management standpoint?

They kept the deadlines, and we were able to see how they were managing tasks. Task management in our company is really low-level compared to theirs, and we learned from them on this matter. We were very happy with the quality they offered us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m not very good in terms of tech, so I can’t say how good their PHP coding is, but I can say that Luxnet was really interested in our project and in building something good; not just offering a service, but building a real website.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We don’t have a lot of experience in this area, so we were just happy about the website they built. Maybe we’d know how good they are after working with another company.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

    BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the general director for News 24 TV Channel, a news broadcasting company. We operate in multiple channels, including radio, TV, and the web.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Luxnet?

We needed help with managing all of our content for advertising and marketing. We wanted to be able to synchronize it.

    SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?
Luxnet developed a CMS for us, providing the software needed to make it work. There is an automation system involved, making it easy to manage all the content. We can sort through content easily, choose the appropriate content, and air it a minute later

They used the necessary technologies to make the system reliable, productive, and accessible from mobile devices.

    What is the team composition?
There were 3–5 people working, including a project manager, some developers, and designers.

How did you come to work with Luxnet?

We considered several companies. Luxnet had the best price, and their team had a good understanding of how to tackle our project.

What is the status of this engagement?

    The project ran from 2015–2017.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We used Jira to track each piece of the project and enter the necessary corrections. With this system, we can manage two radio networks, 20 quality sites, and two advertising slots per hour quickly and easily. None of our competitors have this, giving us a great advantage.

How did Luxnet perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication was simple. They were very responsive to our requests.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They took the time to understand our business process and our desires as a client. They made changes when needed with no problem. They went the extra mile for us.
