Time to film

Lost Clock Productions is a small, Glasgow-based film production company, that is devoted to making creative, inspiring pieces, from small to medium scale projects.

Since 2018, we have produced a variety of content, including documentaries, award-winning short films, photography, event coverage and corporate promotional film. These projects have been contracted by a number of clients, ranging from SMEs and new businesses, to large PR & marketing firms and national television production companies. They have involved working to a range of budgets, in locations across Scotland.

We produce high-quality content, at fair prices, and can flexibly work to tight deadlines when required. We offer an end-to-end process whereby the pre-production, production, and post-production divisions of the project will be carried out by Lost Clock. As a small company dedicated to creating interesting visual pieces which convey any number of messages, we will aim to work as closely as possible with the client, such that their creative expectations are regularly exceeded.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Education Manager for an arts organisation based in the U.K. We organise music projects for people of all ages both in school and community settings.

For what projects/services did your company hire Lost Clock Productions?

We contracted Lost Clock Productions to create a short 5minute film to document a music project in schools, and to interview some of the children about their experiences during the project.

What were your goals for this project?

To demonstrate the vibrancy of the project taking place. To record the pupils thoughts and experiences. To visually show examples of the work taking place. To give parents, project partners and funders a sense of what the project entailed. To use as evidence to support the work being delivered.

How did you select this vendor?

Through an email proposal bid, a phone conversation and recommendations from other people who had used this company.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The company was responsible for working with the project musicians to capture footage, proposed by our company, and to work with the schools and musicians to interview children about the project. They coordinated with the musicians on logistics and artistic vision. We provided the company with a brief which included the video purpose, aims, type of footage required, film length and interview questions.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We worked with a producer prior to the filming to arrange all the project logistics and contract, and he also worked with us during the editing process. The filmmaker worked with the project musicians to get the footage. There was an edit process which included a draft being sent over to us, feedback and changes given and done and then the film was signed off.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Stakeholders were very pleased with the film and felt the content and style reflected the project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were highly efficient. Communication was great, the team were easy to talk to, friendly and approachable. They listened to ideas and followed the brief really well. They created a timeline based upon our deadlines and project dates and they kept to these. The process was very straight forward and we had complete confidence in their ability to deliver.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They understood what we were looking for and achieved this without any fuss. The team were really good to work with, nothing was a bother and they kept us in the loop with progress. They gave us options and advice and were happy to explain and go over things with us. They were professional and approachable.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No. We loved the final outcome and enjoyed working with Lost Clock Productions.

Overall Score It was a successful partnership and we look forward to hopefully working with them again in the near future.
