Key Largo's online scheduling has benefitted from the introduction of the customer's questionnaire as this feature has alleviated some of the strain caused by hounding electricians and customers for information. Key Largo workers are now able to focus their time on other aspects of scheduling instead of playing telephone tag.

Longhouse created a brand identity, logo, and messaging for Travel Pendleton's new event, Interwoven: Where Cultures Meet--essentially a multi-day fashion festival presenting the work of Indigenous and Western designers in Pendleton, Oregon. The event is for local talent, emerging, talent, and a regional audience with plans to grow and develop into a design show in the future. I worked closely with our assigned Longhouse task leader Simran to tease out the story and purpose of Interwoven. She led me through a series of workshops and exercises, all intentional and centered on drawing out the values and details that inform the development of our brand identity. Because our event is about cultural storytelling, it was critical to get this right and executed respectfully. After inital workshops Longhouse used data to design multiple stylescape versions of the brand. Realistically, any of the three design and style personalities could have been selected but we did select one for the final design. Within a week a complete branding presentation was prepared and packaged up with mock-ups for print, digital use, and even applied physical interpretations of the logo design. After approval, a complete package of exports was delivered including typography, colors, art files, stock photos, and brand guidelines.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We had a project timeline for meetings and deliverables which we adhered to, with the exception of my team taking longer thatn anticipated to narrow down a selection from three stylescape options. This was a reflection on the quality of work shared by Longhouse--all three options were marketable, on point, and could easily have been selected so the decision making process for my larger board took longer than I thought it would. Longhouse was flexible through this process. The final delivery of the brand package included all the workshop components, design options, as well as all the final design assets as outlined and promised.

Building a brand from the ground up is a monumental task and it was very important that we work with a company that aligns with the values of our event. Once I spoke with Keenan in our initial call and reviewed case studis and other design work I knew Longhouse was going to be the best partner for our needs.
The work is reflective of the two cultures in our community. It balances tradition and innovation, it's bold and new but also nods to rooted and natural elements. What really set Longhouse apart though was the care involved throught the process--it feels like the team is a partner in this event. Longhouse is as much a part of the story of Interwoven now as the designers, artists, and makers that will debut their work at the event. Longhouse has set us up to be successfull, memorable, and yet distinct from a growing group of peers that are all doing important work in cultural tourism and the preservation of heritage and cultural arts.
