What challenge were you trying to address with Logikview?

We needed someone to develop a forecasting tool. We’re a manpower driven company and we were experiencing a lot of problems of absenteeism at work. We have over 5,000 people. It was very difficult to predict what tool to add to help presence of manpower. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve finished the first phase, so they have given us a solution and that particular solution is working. We are able to predict now 95% attendance. It is somewhat accurate, but we have already asked for some modifications.

They’ve given us a dashboard system. Any point of the time, I can see on that particular day what we actually spend, and the percent we are getting through the dashboard. We get the actual probable number of our manpower.

What is the team dynamic? 

Sumeet [Co-founder, Logikview Analytics] was the project manager. He had the help of two developers. 

How much have you invested with them?

$10,000, but the solution is still going on. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2017 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The tool was supplied to us. They have taken care of all of the streaming on all dashboards. They did quality work. Our management says the product is good. 

How did Logikview perform from a project management standpoint?

There were no problems. The team was friendly. When there were issues, they were taken care of. They come to us with a solution. We had weekly reviews and met on a weekly basis. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The developers are really friendly and very good listeners. Sumeet is also a good listener and very friendly. They’re working toward giving us a solution. They are very time consistent. We gave the three-month timeframe and they provided a solution within three months. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

I recommend using Logikview because they are very project specific, time specific, and they’re friendly.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a company that provides retailers solutions for omnichannel commerce, point of sale, e-commerce, data analytics, data integration, and customer relationship management. We’ve been in business for decades and have offices across the U.S., Europe, and India. Most of our customers are large fashion retailers, but we also work with vertical retailers in telecommunications, food and beverage, and specialty areas.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Logikview Analytics?

A multi-million-dollar conglomerate customer wanted to examine and consolidate their store and e-commerce system data. They didn’t have identification information for all of their customers, because of the data sources and because they weren’t all loyalty customers. They wanted to profile this data.

My company laid the groundwork by creating communication channels and integrating them with the e-commerce and point-of-sale systems, but we needed a partner to help us with customer data analytics.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They ingested the data and used their own open source platform as well as a Spark Platform to store it. They cleaned, normalized, and merged the data themselves, removing anomalies and filling the gaps from a data sanctity perspective.

Their initial proof of concept incorporated a set of high-level analysis approaches to answer certain questions about the data. They laid out their proposed tools and the potential effort involved.

After discussing the proof of concept, we zeroed in on the specific approach we wanted them to take. We gave them a list of eight different types of analysis to perform on the data, such as customer clustering, customer profiling, and segmentation. Their platform was capable of performing the level of analysis that we needed. They completed an initial effort in-office, then presented their findings and tweaked their data model until we were satisfied with the analysis.

Once they handed over the analysis and data models, we asked them to clean up the data from a privacy perspective and give us the archives.

What is the team dynamic?

They used three to five resources during the life of the project, including data engineers and scientists. We only interacted with the team lead. I’m guessing they had a dedicated project manager, but they handled all project management on their end.

How did you come to work with Logikview Analytics?

We received a personal reference from someone who had used their services. We were looking at mid-size companies that were capable of handling the work. We looked largely at off-shore vendors that had the tools for our required analysis.

The analytic software was a big differentiating factor. Neither we nor our customer wanted to purchase additional tools, so Logikview’s unique, open-source solution, capable of both storing analyzing the data, was very attractive.

We also appreciated their flexibility. Because this was our first project of its kind, we didn’t know the questions we wanted to ask of the data upfront. So we needed a company that could flex with us as our understanding developed. Their approach of presenting the options for models, prototypes, and analytics at the outset, and then adjusting based on feedback, worked for us.

When we considered flexibility, references, availability of tools, and cost, Logikview was the clear choice.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in mid-2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were very happy with the work, as was our customer. Logikview’s deliverable generated additional business for us with that customer on analytics and engineering projects. That alone is a big win for us.

How did Logikview Analytics perform from a project management standpoint?

We were quite happy with how they performed. They are a young and very agile company. Once we set the tone of the project with our goals and timelines, Logikview handled project management with minimal direction from us.

Their black box delivery model saved us the hassle of managing individual resources. It was basically a turnkey solution.

Early on, we communicated daily with their team lead via half-hour to hour-long video conference calls. Once we agreed on all deliverables, we communicated on more of a weekly basis. They provided daily status reports and weekly progress reports.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We found their software solution most impressive, along with their analytic services. They were flexible, easy to work with, and understood the kind of analysis we wanted, which made them the right partner for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Our analytics projects were of medium complexity, and they had the necessary capabilities. However, I suspect they would need to augment their data science team if heavier analytics were required.

Do you have any advice for other potential customers of Logikview Analytics?

In projects like these, there has to be a meeting of the minds and a good fit in terms of the approach. I recommend our turnkey model, since all of Logikview’s resources are off-shore. Also a proof of concept is helpful at the outset, so you can approve prototypes before completing the entire work.

We are a real estate firm based in Indore, India.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Logikview?

We were looking for a solution that would provide an impetus to our entire marketing and sales team. We have many walk-ins across our various sites, and we wanted to do a bit of profiling for them. This would help us have the right marketing pitch, one that incorporates all necessary points. We were told that there weren’t too many companies working in the real estate area or providing a similar solution.

We had worked with similar companies, but not in the analytics space. On the development side, we’ve implemented an end-to-end ERP [enterprise resource planning] solution for managing our construction and sales. Since we are not that big of an organization, we wanted a customized solution that could meet our scale and budget.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

During a six-month period, Logikview handled profiling for a number of our customers. To the best of my knowledge, they had a data-analytics tool that was used to pull information. We sent them email IDs and phone numbers, as well as names in some cases. Logikview then performed social profiling for those customers through various social media websites, coming back with parameters like their preference for leisure activities.

Logikview fine-tuned the tool so that both our senior and junior staff could read the data. We wanted the tool to be handy and fairly easy to comprehend. We incorporated Logikview’s input into our sales pitch. When our sales team discussed projects with clients, they highlighted facilities that would match a client’s interest. For example, some customers were more inclined towards basketball or tennis, while others preferred indoor games or spa facilities.

What is the team dynamic?

We worked with three people from Logikview. I was able to discuss my problems and expectations with our main contacts.  

How did you come to work with Logikview?

Logikview was working with one of our competitors in Mumbai, who happened to be a good friend of mine. He referred them to me. Since they were also based out of Madhya Pradesh, I could connect to them on different social portals as well. I did a bit of background research and found that Logikview was the best choice for our needs.

How much have you invested with them?

We paid approximately $12,500 for this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Logikview at the start of October 2016. The project continued until March 2017. If we can maintain the same cost, I’ll hire Logikview for the next season. Our season starts around November or December and extends to March and April, which is the end of the financial year. That’s usually the time people plan their real estate investments.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Logikview’s work helped increase our conversion rate since we knew what points to highlight to our clients. The walk-in conversion ratio has increased. In 2016, we had around 1,000 leads, and the conversion was 4–10 customers. After using the tool, we increased it threefold. I was hoping that the conversion ratio would be even better, but we performed better than we could have without the tool. In terms of competition analysis, the solutions Logikview provided met our expectations. We have definitely outdone our competitors in the space.

How did Logikview perform from a project management standpoint?

We preferred to communicate via email, but we also used Skype. We had 2–3 meetings in total, including one with Logikview’s entire team. We documented what we wanted and set expectations to avoid unexpected issues. We used different tools whenever Logikview wanted to give us a presentation to showcase how the tool operated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our expectations were high, but Logikview did a fair job of achieving the scope of work promised. I am looking forward to doing business with them in the future.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The cost could always be better, but it’s hard to put a dollar value to figuring out the technology. It would have been nice if they’d provided a longer maintenance period for data feeds.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s important to have a good maintenance view. The tool, scoping, and delivery were good, but it’s always recommended to negotiate on costs.
