Litening is a fully remote branding and design agency. We live and operate in the cloud — which is a parallel to real life phenomena of lightning — utilizing the internet and technology to its full potential. Our tools and processes live in the cloud also and this enables us to hire some of the best talent for a project, without limitations to location, anywhere in the world.
We exist so that we can electrify our clients’ visual projects and assist in their marketing efforts to help their businesses gain awareness and grow.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a cinematographer and producer and I own two film business — TS Cinema and Play Test Network — both of which Litening has helped out with.
What challenge were you trying to address with Litening?
They’ve helped with post-production, graphics, and web design.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Currently, I’m working on a documentary that Litening designed a web-page for. They’re also going to do post-production on this project.
Danny (Founder & Creative Director) has been incredibly transparent about the work. They’ve designed multiple web pages, both for my businesses and my client’s projects. Additionally, they’ve done graphic design and After Effects compositions. On top of that, he’s done a fantastic job being communicative about any questions I have.
What is the team composition?
I communicated with Danny but I assume there were other team members based on the scope of the work I assigned him.
How did you come to work with Litening?
I was referred to them. I’d seen their Google listings before as well so I decided to inquire.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $10,000–$49,999.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since December 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They went above and beyond, answering emails and questions late in the night. It seems like Litening is always working. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.
How did Litening perform from a project management standpoint?
As far as being transparent, they were amazing. Oftentimes I’d get a response in 20 minutes or less. I set a lot of deadlines and gave them a fair amount of work to do but they met all their deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their professionalism stood out the most to me.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They did a fantastic job. I don’t have any complaints.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re very dedicated so make sure you’re dedicated. Be communicative and ready to move forward. Respond to their emails and questions because they want to get the project off the ground.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I lead the marketing team for AGM Container Controls.
What challenge were you trying to address with Litening?
We were redesigning an old corporate website that had a lot of different kinds of content. We hired Litening to redesign the UX for the site, as well as helping us think through how to display different kinds of content.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We ran them through the details for our site, including that we’re going to be on a WordPress platform and using WooCommerce to display the products. They took that and helped us build the UX of the site around what we’d already settled on as a platform.
What is the team composition?
Danny (Founder & Creative Director) is my point of contact.
How did you come to work with Litening?
We were referred to Danny. Someone on our team had worked with Danny in the past on a different project and spoke very highly of him. I called Danny and interviewed him, going over what we wanted and what he thought he could do to add value. I enjoyed speaking with him and felt he not only knew what we wanted to accomplish but also understood how to help us do it together.
How much have you invested with them?
By the time it’s over, we’ll have spent between $15,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in December 2019 and we have an ongoing relationship. We’ve completed a few different projects, but have two more that we’re working on.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work is strong from a UX standpoint. They’ve been good at integrating best practices into the UX. Their support frees up time for my in-house team to work on other things, too, so it helps us be more efficient.
For one of our projects, the image and presentation were incredibly important for the audience, and all of the feedback we’ve had has been very positive about that. For the larger corporate website, they helped us reach our goal of creating a unique look and experience while organizing thousands of pages of content.
How did Litening perform from a project management standpoint?
One of the reasons I continue to work with Danny is that the pricing is reasonable and he is a great communicator. We’re always able to talk and work through any concerns or problems that come up, as they inevitably do. They’re very responsive.
There have been many times where we are on a Zoom call and I can watch Danny make changes while we’re talking, so it’s very collaborative. We’re able to work together very quickly to solve anything that comes up. He has a strong work ethic and is committed to being efficient.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are very talented designers with a good sense of aesthetics to bring all the elements together. He takes a lot of pride in what he does and it shows in his work, which is why we continue to work with him. Their layout and design skills are very good. They can take whatever I give them and run with it and turn it from a concept to an actual project.
As a designer, I appreciate that he understands it’s important that we sell something at the end of the day. They know it’s not just about creating great art, it’s about creating an effective presentation. I appreciate that I can tell him something could be better and he never takes it personally, he just wants us to reach our business goals.
Are there any areas they could improve?
If there was anything to say, Danny is sometimes a bit optimistic about how long it will take to finish something. I’ve learned to add a bit of time in, because we may not have communicated every aspect that needs to be taken into account. Even though we’ve been delayed on some internal deadlines, we’ve hit all the deadlines that actually matter.

"The experience and the ability to coach us through what we wanted for branding was tremendous."

Please describe your company and your position there.
We are a smaller manufacturing company that builds and designs custom environmental control hardware for the government and other agencies. One of our divisions focuses on the manufacturing of high end wheelchair lifts.
For what projects/services did your company hire Litening?
The Litening agency has designed a number of our websites, as well as other marketing materials from backdrops for trade shows, print advertisements, visuals for a VR application.
What were your goals for this project?
The project was an entire website overall where we wanted to refocus the image and improve our overall brand recognition with a redesigned website that better reflected our product and our marketing message.
How did you select this vendor?
After talking with multiple agencies we decided on Litening as they were very personable and responsive to our messages, as well as, courteous and professional in all their communication. Danny (Art Director, Litening, never hassled us about our project and we never felt rushed into a decision.
Describe the project in detail.
We hired Litening to help us update our brand image. They started by having weekly calls to establish what our brand vision was and helped us develop the overall style guide and brand image across all mediums and channels. Once a style guide was agreed on we proceeded with designing and developing a website.
Again this included weekly meetings and progress updates as well as support for our developer with graphics and formatting. While the website was being developed, there were designs and branding completed for ads that would be placed in print (magazines) and emails, as well as, media to be passed out at trade shows. Once everything was completed and everything was checked for completeness, Danny insured that there were no problems and if we had questions after everything was implemented he supported us at every step.
What was the team composition?
From the vendors side it: 1 point of contact Danny (Art Director, Litening)
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We initially saw a dip in overall leads but we noticed that each lead was a lot more qualified than what we were getting before the re-branding. We also started to gain around 10% to 15% improvements to our overall organic sessions.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The work flow was great. While our developer was working on the homepage the ancillary pages would be either designed or be going through testing. We used Asana to track tasks and overall project completion.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Since we have a small team the design expertise was extremely valuable. The experience and the ability to coach us through what we wanted for branding was tremendous. The eye for the smaller details made our site stand out in our niche and helped to capture the eyes of our customers and we constantly received complements about the design of our site.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The only improvement I would have suggested but wasn't really at the fault of the Litening team, would be that when we initially did our budget we didn't incorporate a mobile design and as we completed the project we weren't able to return to it in a full capacity.
Communicative and hard-working, Litening offered attentive service. They displayed stand-out professionalism and managed packed deadlines. Customers can expect a fast partner.
