Williwaw is an online platform that provides online registration, live polls and Q&A for events and conferences. I am the managing director of the company, one of the role is to manage the product development with the help of LinxHQ Pte Ltd.

LinxHQ is tasked to finish our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within 3 months, in order for us to push williwaw to the market. LinxHQ continues to support williwaw on the development of our products.

LinxHQ is recommended to us through a business associate and we have seen some of their completed projects and they are competent.

LinxHQ is tasked to finish our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within 3 months, in order for us to push williwaw to the market. LinxHQ continues to support williwaw on the development of our products.

What was the team composition?

During the development, LinxHQ provided a Project Manager and 2 developers to work on our platform. LinxHQ does have a few teams of developers and also a senior project manager which helped us on projects when datelines are tight.

LinxHQ is a crucial part of the development of the williwaw platform. And they are a prompt and responsible team.

Project management is effective as compared to other vendors we tried.

We are an educational, training and consulting company focussing on intercultural intelligence, corporate culture and English language competence in the marketplace and in schools. I am the company owner and principal consultant.

  1. To produce a language resource platform for online English-teacher training, online language learning and online English tutoring.
  2. To produce an online intercultural worldview assessment instrument.

What were your goals for this project?

For 1. That teachers and learners of English can access curated videos for self-study and tutored learning, leading to increased competence in teaching and using the English language.

For 2. That clients, who live and work in cross-cultural environments, are able to have an instrument to assess their personal cultural worldviews in order to intelligently engage in the cross-cultural spaces of their lives and work.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

They have competent and honest leadership. They listen to my needs and design the online capabilities to those needs. Their customer-relation intermediaries keep on top of my feedback to make adjustments to the online instruments.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

  1. They gave me a detailed write-up of the process and schedule of the project development, testing and delivery.
  2. They walked me through the write-up to ensure that they understood my requirements.
  3. They created a visual mock-up to demonstrate the capabilities of the online instruments.
  4. They wrote the programmes for us.
  5. They began loading the content that we supplied into the programmes.
  6. They are testing the programmes and are making the necessary changes to the programmes with the feedback that we give them.

What was the team composition?

The company owner of LinxHQ and/or his immediate subordinate would interact with me over the progress of the development. I do not know how many others were involved in the programming and design of the online instruments.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have not launched large-scale commercial use of the projects yet. This was mainly because on our side, we had experienced delays in providing suitable and sufficient content to LinxHQ.

At the same time, we were not able to keep up to the schedule of feedback proposed by LinxHQ. However, users of the instruments have commented that the visual designs of each of the web-pages could be improved in terms of the visual attractiveness.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The good part about the project management was that the liaison person understood English well enough and had enough technical expertise to translate our requirements and feedback into making changes to the design and development.

The weak part about the project management was that there was some untimely turn-over of programmers resulting in some delays and misunderstanding of our requirements.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

  1. Their ability to grasp our needs was satisfactory.
  2. Schedule of the design, programming and testing of the projects was thorough and easy for non-technical people like me to understand.
  3. Response to feedback was fairly quick.

Are there any areas for improvement?

  1. The design could be visually more attractive.
  2. Better communication with new programmers taking over from programmers who have left their companies could be achieved.

I’m the technical manager of BES Technologies, a healthcare logistics automation company. We have 30 people working for us.

What challenge were you trying to address with LinxHQ?

They’re developing software for our product development team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re developing software with web and application uses. We had design review sessions with LinxHQ and our team contributed to the design architecture.

The software was developed to support a product we’re developing. The software is meant to run an inventory system, together with different logistics modules. They used PHP to develop the software.

How did you come to work with LinxHQ?

They were introduced to us by one of our staff, and the team provided a good solution. 

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of the project is SGD $500,000 (Approximately $370,600 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with LinxHQ in January of 2019 or December of 2018. The project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The software is still being developed, so I can’t really comment on its quality at this point in time. I don’t have any general feedback at this point.

How did LinxHQ perform from a project management standpoint?

They managed to meet most of our deadlines. Some of the delays were caused by us, which pushed some deadlines.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think they’ve done quite well so far.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

No.
