Feedback summary:

Lifeisgoodlabs filled a gap in internal expertise that has expanded business opportunities. Their internal QA processes ensure the quality of their code and they’re flexible on schedules, willing to work after-hours to accommodate.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of a development consulting firm in Sweden.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lifeisgoodlabs?

Our expertise is Microsoft architecture but we’ve been getting more requests for open source development projects. We needed a good offshore development company that could work with different programming languages.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve worked on multiple projects for our company including websites and integration tools for our clients. They worked with WordPress, Django, Python, and Amazon AWS.

What is the team composition?

We work with three different project managers, depending on which programming language we’re working with. We’ve worked with up to seven developers.

How did you come to work with Lifeisgoodlabs?

We found them through Upwork. We had interviews and test projects and went from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $100,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in April 2017 and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve become 80% of our open source development team. Their work has allowed us to take on new clients and deliver more projects. We’re happy with their deliverables.

How did Lifeisgoodlabs perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Slack, Skype, Jira, and Confluence to communicate.

They have an extensive QA team. I have been working offshore for 20 years: there’s a difference when there’s an organized QA team or not.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re flexible with work schedules—like if something comes up on a Friday evening—which is number one. It’s very important for us, especially when working with global companies that are 24/7.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I like working with them but they currently don’t have a Microsoft technology team. They’re working on that.
