We worked with a project manager from Lemons who helped to keep things on track as there were multiple deliverables. She was very responsive, fast and helped to push accelerated delivery on her end.

Videos were played at the event to great reviews and published on the client's social media with good engagement.

Communications was easy, there were a lot of updates in terms of revised schedules but the team moved ahead of it and incorporated lots of requests from our end clients.

Their creative quality, timelines, good communications were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If we had more time, it would be still nice to incorporate some 3D elements but the client had to move fast and we all had to follow their brand guidelines.

Our product is new and complex, our goal was to produce a video that quickly and simply explained the product to new potential users.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We evaluated multiple agencies, Lemons best fit our budget, tight timelines and had experience working with web3 teams.

1. Determined & agreed upon project scope, timelines and cost.
2. We initially produced/sourced our own script and voice over artist.
3. We provided this content alongside visual ideas and references to Lemons, giving them a foundation to begin concept ideation.
4. Lemons created a visual script proposal with rough sketches for each video scene. We went through 2 or 3 rounds of visual script iteration with the Lemons team.
5. We signed off on the visual script and Lemons began producing refined concept illustrations for each script scene.
6. We went through 3-4 rounds of refined concept illustrations. Each round increasing in quality towards a representation of what the final animation will look like.
7. Lemons began animating and sending us segments of the video to review as they produced them, this sped up the review and iteration process.
8. With the animation 90% done, we worked with the Lemons team to refine micro visual details and refinements.
9. Lemons provided us with a selection of music proposals, we went through 2-3 quick rounds of feedback to find the right music.

We primarily worked with Katya (Lemons Project Manager), Anastasia (Client Manager) and briefly other members of the team. Everyone was very quick and clear in their communications.

The Lemons team is very quick and agile in their communication. Our team primarily uses Discord, the Lemons team was happy to jump into our Discord and do the majority of comms there. They also had some good tools for sharing and gathering feedback on specific animation scenes.

They were very quick, agile, and easy to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Continue to increase the quality of their work, throughout the creative process there were minor details that were overlooked.

Porta Network is a new L1 blockchain. I'm the Head of Marketing at Porta Network.

As a new Layer-1 chain, we needed to share the chain’s capabilities to reach more developers. We previously worked with another video production company, which was a bad experience and yielded a video which we were not happy with. We needed to find the right vendor to help communicate our product vision and mission to a wider audience.

Lemon Studios work speak for itself, I dare you to look at their previous work to not feel inspired and want to work with the team. After finding the team we reached out to begin a conversation and quickly realised we can work with them for this project.

We started with a discovery chat with the team to help describe our vision for the video. The team already had ideas of what the illustrations could look like, options for the voice over and feedback on the script. The Lemons Studio reviewed our suggestion and then emailed us a timeline of production.

The timeline doc clearly outlined each step in the production process - to ensure we as the client knew exactly what to expect at each step in the production journey. The team created the elements of the video, sent it across at different intervals to us to review before moving on to the next phase. At each phase, the team was professional and effective which helped move the production towards its end goal.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Worked with Alina and the creative team. Their feedback on the script was very helpful to help shape the narrative of the video. In terms of giving feedback and acting on it, the team was diligent and always had suggestions to help us arrive at the right creative decision.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

So far the video has generated 8,200+ views and 28,600+ impressions - by far our most successful video.

The team had a great project management style. Whether the comms moved from Google Meet to email or Telegram. The team was professional and timely in every interaction.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The creativity is visible in the final video, we have got great feedback from our developer community about it!

We are the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention service for LGBTQ young people. I'm a Special Projects Manager which means I work on a variety of strategic projects for the organization.

We hired Lemons to complete the animation for six educational videos, each between 5 and 8 minutes in length, covering a wide variety of topics related to mental health for middle and high-school students in New York City.

What were your goals for this project?

This project involved refreshing our existing education curriculum. We wanted the videos to be location-specific to New York City, engaging, and appropriate both in material covered and tone.

We found this vendor through online research. We initially had worked with another animation studio to complete this project and we ended up cutting ties early because we were so unhappy with the product.

Once we selected Lemons, we had an introductory meeting to discuss lessons we'd learned from the first animation studio and the scope / intent of the project. We went over each script multiple times with Lemons, ensuring that all parties understood how we wanted the animation to look.

We then reviewed the studio's storyboards of the animation before seeing drafts the motion graphics. Lastly, we reviewed the animation in each video as a whole. Lemons was extremely flexible in making changes so that our vision could be realized.

What was the team composition?

We worked with our initial contact at the beginning and end of the project. Throughout the duration of our working time together, we worked with a project manager who was very communicative and helpful

The animation was completed on time and was exactly what we were hoping for.

The workflow was very effective - communication was timely and when there were misunderstandings or points of discussion, we worked these out as quickly and smoothly as possible.

I found their creative sensibility very impressive and their working process and communication! Really, could not have been happier.

They helped us with a video explainer to promote our channels. Everything was pretty professional. The process was split into different stages with our approvals on each stage (script, concept, scenes drawing, animation). Plus, they gave their recommendations on each stage, so we've got a feeling that we don't just pay for their hands, but also use their expertise, which is always a good thing when you work with a creative studio. Overall, everything was pretty organized, plus we got a really great result and will probably use their services again.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

There was a sales manager from their side. who handled all the paperwork, and a really great project manager, who helped us with all the deliverables, followed the deadline, and discussed all the organizational issues.

First result came in a week. We got lots of positive feedback on jokes in the video and animation style. People have enjoyed it and went to see our social media accounts. Our team worked hard to make high-quality news this period, so we got an impressive subscribe-rate (conversion). After three weeks, subscriber plan is 80% ready and we expect overall growth for a long period of time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Despite being in different time zones, project had no delays. We handled all the communication in Telegram and deliverables in Google Drive. They also showed scenes in boords.com, if I’m not mistaken.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Honestly, for this amount of cash, we expected slightly poor animation (had some projects done before with other vendors). What's the most cool is the reaction of our audience, of course.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Maybe we'd like to see this product cheaper, but actually 50% of money we spent already returned with subscribers. Expect a full return and then a profit in two months.

We are a startup developing a crisis-management mobile application. It is meant to help organizations communicate effectively in times of crisis and plan for those events. Our system enhances these processes, making it easier and more convenient for organizations to resolve crises effectively.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lemon Digital?

We needed to create a short video that explained the concept behind our solution in a way that could easily communicate our vision to potential clients. Videos make it easier for people to understand what a startup is about.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lemon Digital created an animated video that explains our concept to people who have never worked with crisis-management tools, showing them why these resources are a good idea. They responded quickly whenever we had a question or correction to make, and I enjoyed working with the team.

I came up with the product idea and explained what we wanted in detail. I prepared a script and made some rough storyboards, which Lemon Digital transformed into the final product. They created illustrations. We had between 5 and 7 options to choose from in terms of music.

How did you come to work with Lemon Digital?

I had seen animation videos from another Danish startup, which looked interesting. Many of the other videos I’d seen had a cheap appearance, but those didn’t, so I contacted the startup and asked them about the creators of their content. They introduced me to a co-founder at Lemon Digital.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Lemon Digital in March of 2017 and finished in May.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

I am very happy with the result and have shown it to a couple of people already. Since they’re my friends, they may have been biased, but they did like the video. Lemon Digital did a great job, and I look forward to posting the video on our website. We are a B2B software company, so we don’t have a lot of traffic, but I will track the metrics around our video once it’s posted.

How did Lemon Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was delivered on schedule. I actually postponed the work a bit. Lemon Digital responded well to the numerous corrections I wanted to make and did them by our next version. They have a professional process.

What did you find most impressive about Lemon Digital?

I liked the animations themselves. They quite are lively, with smooth transitions between each shot. The ways that shots transform are actually relevant to the next frame.

Are there any areas Lemon Digital could improve?

Our terms of agreement were long, and I had to ask internal resources for help with reading and grasping them. That was annoying, but I’ve been happy with the collaboration and end product.

I’m the CEO and one of the founders of News360. We make personalized news products for consumers, publishers, and advertisers. One of our most recognizable products is the News360 app, which has over 10 million users, mostly in the US. It’s available on iOS and Android. The app learns what you’re interested in by analyzing your behavior, then finds interesting news stories for you around the web.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lemon Digital?

We wanted to create a promotional video for one of our products, and we were looking for a good vendor to help us to that. We planned to use the video on the product page of our site and in our sales pitches.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a rough idea of what we wanted in the video and a rough script for the voiceover. We talked about the project with Lemon Digital and got the financial side of the equation worked out. Then we spent time on the script, working collaboratively to improve it. They got to work on sketches on what the visualizations would look like. We had ideas of how we wanted it to look. Lemon Digital suggested some changes and alternatives, then presented a couple options. After several rough cuts, we got to the final product. So far, our work with them has been on two videos and some broader marketing and brand design, such as landing pages and case studies.

How did you come to work with Lemon Digital?

I researched different production firms and watched a lot of videos. I looked at all the brands I’m familiar with and all the startups I liked, and I found out who had made their videos. I liked one of Lemon Digital’s videos and got in touch with them. I thought we had a good fit, so we went to work with them.

The first project began in October of 2015, and we’re still working with them now.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The work they did wasn’t for wide consumption, so it’s hard to quantify it. It was definitely helpful for our sales process to have something that explains what the product is and how it works. It has been quite successful in solving that problem. The video helped us increase conversions and shorten the sales cycle.

How did Lemon Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

I think they did a good job. We’re a small company that is doing a lot of things, so we don’t have the resources to manage external contractors. We try to find agencies who are driven enough to have an internal sense of urgency and deliver things on time without prodding. I think Lemon Digital definitely did that. I felt they were trying hard to move the project along, even without my meddling. They also reacted very well to feedback. We were quite picky in the details of the design, and they were very accommodating. They didn’t complain, even when we had a million little changes.

What did you find most impressive about Lemon Digital?

I liked the energy they put into the project. It’s always good to feel that the people you hire are really trying to make something great and that they care. I felt that was the case with them, which is why we continue working with them. They care about the quality of the product they deliver, and they make sure we’re happy.

I can’t think of anything. I think they’re doing a good job.

Our team was leaning toward doing the video explainer ourselves, but we understood that investing into a professional service with a proven track record like Lemons was worth the asking price.

We didn't come in wanting to take full reign, and with the tiny amount of ideas we did arrive with, Lemons did a really great job with creative direction and execution. Blown away.
