I'm the Founder & CEO of hatch IT. We are an IT Consulting firm specializing in Recruiting, Marketing, & Community Engagement for early-stage and high-growth product startups in the DC area.

We engaged Lee Forrest Consulting to provide digital marketing, design and brand awareness support for our company.

What were your goals for this project?

We asked Lee to first help us with our brand identity. They were also responsible for assisting us in transitioning our new website to reflect our new brand. We have also engaged Lee Forrest Consulting to ensure our digital marketing and advertising strategy was in place, along with hands on support on social post weekly.

We were referred to this vendor by a former client of ours.

Lee Forrest Consulting acts as an extension of our internal marketing team. They first operated as our sole marketing resource when we had no team internal.

Once we began hiring up marketing resources, Lee Forres Consulting worked hand in hand to ensure our strategy was executed accordingly. Their team integrates with our messaging tools (eg. Slack) and is quickly available whenever we needed them. They perform very quality work each and every task we assign them.

What was the team composition?

Consisted of Lee as the Principal and primary point of contact. Lee had a small team he would engaged as needed for any support we requested.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The outcome was excellent for every project we have worked with Lee Forrest Consulting. We continue to work with them to this day as they have proven to be a vital arm of our marketing team.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was excellent - never had any issues getting in contact with this vendor. Prompt response time is something we value in this vendor.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They quickly could relate to our brand and continue to put out good content and product that correlates with our brand.

Nothing immediate we would recommend on improvement.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lee Forrest Consulting?

We needed some digital advertising done.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lee Forrest Consulting has done various tasks from bolstering our clients’ online presence to helping form a coalition. They mainly help with digital advocacy, building microsites and setting up advocacy letter-writing campaigns. Once there is a membership base, the team assists in setting the groundwork up to match people with elected officials on an online platform.

They also do design online for websites and social media. They design and populate social media accounts with content to help increase engagement.

What is the team composition?

I work with Lee (Principal).

How did you come to work with Lee Forrest Consulting?

I worked with Lee in the past. We felt he was a good fit for our company’s work, and have been working together for a while now.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $75,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around August 2017, and it’s an ongoing arrangement. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Lee does very good work, especially in digital advertising. He is good at conceptualizing our ideas in a way that connects with consumers. On average, we only go through 2–3 revamps because of that. He can take feedback, and when he makes changes, he encompasses all of the client’s requests.

How did Lee Forrest Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

He is very communicative and responsive. He is deadline-driven and always on the mark.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Lee is a hard worker and a great strategic thinker. His ability to encompass several aspects of a project at a critical thinking level and wrap it into a nice package is quite impressive. He also covers services that go beyond digital advertising, such as technical support and troubleshooting.

Are there any areas they could improve?

He’s not the strongest writer, but that’s not exactly what we need him for.

Share everything; your data, goals, thoughts, and more. That way, Lee can align himself to better meet your needs and get you where you want to be.
