the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and managing director of Stir Crazy Kids Proprietary Limited. We run primary and secondary school canteens.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad App Development?
We’d previously used a web-based application to manage our business operations, but once our customer count grew, we needed to be more organized.
I needed an efficient way to access our client databases, so I contacted Launchpad for development assistance. The goal was to create a platform where our customers from 20 schools could order lunch for their students via a mobile app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Launchpad developed a canteen management application for us. First, we met to discuss the nature of the project. I shared my vision, logos, and branding, and the Launchpad team typed up the requirements and created the project scope. From there, they developed drawings, designed the UI/UX, and organized the workload for each sprint. Finally, they delivered and launched the application.
They enabled the app for web and mobile use on iOS and Android. The app can support multiple logins for our 20 schools, so users can log in to their accounts to access our menu information and order lunch.
The app relays the daily order information to my staff, who collates the items and sends them to the school students. We also set up a cut-off time for each school to give the canteens enough time to process orders. Launchpad created a feature that notifies users to place orders before the cut-off.
The Launchpad team also built a user wallet into the app, so users can link their bank accounts and make payments directly through the app. The team has fully integrated the payment system, so users also have the option to link their credit cards.
Additionally, Launchpad created an administrative application for me to keep track of customers, upload menus, manage account details and search for transactions. The administrative application also allows me to reset user passwords and provide support as needed.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 9–10 team members from Launchpad, including Dane (Co-Founder), Steve (Lead Product Strategist), and Jay (Co-Founder).
How did you come to work with Launchpad App Development?
We found Launchpad on Google while searching for local development partners. They had great reviews and were located nearby, which was essential to me. Once we started talking about the project, I was confident they’d be able to help us.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about $160,000 AUD (approximately $108,000 USD) in the partnership with Launchpad.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Launchpad in December 2020 and released the application in January 2022.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app is still relatively new, but we’re very happy with the design; everything marries up to our trademark in terms of colors, and it fits beautifully with our brand.
Initially, we launched the app to 8,000 users, which created an issue with bandwidth and resulted in some negative Google reviews. However, Launchpad addressed the problem immediately, and the app hasn’t crashed since they increased the bandwidth.
I couldn’t be happier with how Launchpad managed the challenges that arose. Now, the app runs beautifully, and we see about 4,000 weekly orders, which is great. We plan to chase up the users who fell off after the initial crash and encourage them to work with us again.
All in all, the app has given me a way to interact directly with customers, which has been excellent. The app has allowed me to make myself more available and help users with anything they need. It’s also been much easier for us to keep track of customers within each school and view past orders to prepare ourselves for the upcoming week.
How did Launchpad App Development perform from a project management standpoint?
Launchpad was very good at managing the project and spot on with predicting realistic release times. They made very accurate estimates whenever we wanted to implement new features.
Apple Connect is quite rigorous, so when we had delays, they typically stemmed from Apple needing extra time to approve a release. Otherwise, Launchpad consistently met deadlines. We typically communicated via email and managed the project in Basecamp. They were very responsive partners and were happy to answer any questions as needed.
They also made me very aware of the costs associated with building an app, which was immensely helpful. If I had to create another app, I’d certainly engage their services again.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The Launchpad team did a great job listening to us; they understood my needs and duplicated them into a tangible product. They were approachable and knowledgeable about the app development process.
I was impressed by the quality of their recommendations; they suggested many things I hadn’t thought of myself. Each of their suggestions significantly improved the product and was essential in getting the app off the ground.
The Launchpad team was also open and receptive to feedback, which I appreciated. Our business is quite particular, so as long as I shared my reasoning behind asking for certain adjustments, they’d happily help me get there.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing Launchpad could improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend clearly understanding your goal for the application and how it will benefit users. That way, the Launchpad team can customize the application to fit your specific needs.

Mobile App Development for Marine Tech Startup
“Launchpad App Development has exceeded our expectations in terms of functionality, UX design, and the overall product.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director and founder of a tech startup. We’re an all-in-one vessel management application for the marine industry. If used correctly, the product will save time and money and enhance safety on the water.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad App Development?
We needed an app development company to solve the problem of vessel ownership.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Launchpad App Development has built our application for iOS and Android. We initially came to Launchpad App Development with what we wanted to do. We had some basic wireframes to present to them, and they provided a structured timeline and granular approach to the strategy, including deliverables, font, colors, artwork, and workflow. Basically, they showed us how they’d bring the idea from a concept into something tangible.
The app allows storing, retrieving, categorizing, listing chronologically, and searching documents. Within that functionality, some reminders go into the user’s phone or watch. It also stores expenses so owners can historically review what they’ve spent. Similarly, there’s a maintenance history that allows chronological listing, searching, and categorization. Owners can customize a checklist to start the boat or create shopping or camping lists, whatever they wish to do.
Additionally, the app captures trip logs, so it counts engine hours from the last service so owners can instantly see their following services due and how many hours have been done. All the compliant data of registration, insurance, warranties, and captured reminders are in the app, and there’s an extensive safety compliance section that captures things like lifejacket flares. Also, users can put in reminders and upload photos, which are all categorized and searchable in the photo gallery. Overall, the app's most important feature is capturing the hidden numbers and bits of key data, like a vehicle identification number in a motor vehicle.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with about six teammates. Depending on what we work on, they have people with experience in those areas. However, 2–3 of them are always there.
How did you come to work with Launchpad App Development?
We looked into the industry and got about five quotes, including Launchpad App Development. One of the reasons we went with them was that they had a clear, documented approach to the development process. We also liked their commercial approach to developing an app. Finally, they gave us the associated cost for each feature so we could choose to include it or not; they were very transparent.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $250,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in September 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One of the users said the app was very professional and easy to navigate. We’ve found 2–3 bugs, but it’s normal at this stage. We’ve logged the bugs into an Excel spreadsheet to account them for, and Launchpad App Development has dealt with them accordingly.
How did Launchpad App Development perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re pretty good with deadlines; a couple of them ran over due to unforeseen circumstances, but the timeline has been great. We communicate through Basecamp so various teammates can have project visibility. Everybody is on the same page, which helps to keep up with the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Launchpad App Development has an open-door policy. We can ask questions when we don’t understand something and the team is more than happy to answer us or explain the process to gain clarity around it. In fact, they’ve done a great job illustrating the development process.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Companies can always improve, but they’ve done an excellent job from a first-time perspective. The only thing we’ve suggested is having a circle of contacts so they can refer other businesses when they recommend a peripheral service.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be as clear as possible with your idea and trust they’ll bring your concept to reality. In our case, Launchpad App Development has exceeded our expectations in terms of functionality, UX design, and the overall product.

Mobile App Development for Startup Company
“They’re really interested in our success, which has been a real bonus for us.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m one of the directors at WhatzOn, a startup with an iPhone events app.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad App Development?
We identified that the events space is quite lumpy in most places, so we realized there was a gap in the market. We came up with a concept for a mobile app and set up our company in 2017. Initially, we hired another app developer and had some challenges there, and the COVID-19 pandemic also limited us. Eventually, we switched providers and hired Launchpad to build our app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Launchpad has built our iOS application from scratch. The team came to our city to interview shop owners and the councils responsible for certain government areas; they spoke to a range of people to get a feel for the gap in the market we’re aiming for.
The team also advised us on our monetization strategy. While most startups rely on advertisers, we wanted to find a way to give businesses exposure without a cost to them because we knew most businesses have tight budgets. Launchpad was aligned with this approach, and they helped us figure out how to monetize immediately rather than acquiring users and then trying to implement a strategy.
We initially talked about charging businesses, and Launchpad came back with a subscription approach. We decided to charge consumers to access exclusive deals. Research indicated that non-expensive subscriptions are quite successful, so we determined an annual fee of $50 AUD (approximately $30 USD).
The app’s primary function is to show events in the area, no matter where the user is in the country. We also offer businesses an opportunity to have a presence in the app and post deals that consumers can access through their annual subscriptions. There are deals available all over the country. Another functionality is a texting feature that customers can use to communicate, which is a way to keep people going back into the application.
Currently, we’re a week away from doing the final testing and ultimately getting the app out into the marketplace.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with a variety of teammates from Launchpad, including the CEO, Steve (Lead Product Strategist), Jay (Co-Founder & Operations Director), and Steph (Product Manager). In total, we’ve worked with around five people.
How did you come to work with Launchpad App Development?
I found Launchpad through Clutch and looked at their reviews.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent $225,000 AUD (approximately $146,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in October 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since our app isn't in the market yet, we don't have any quantitative metrics. From a partnership standpoint, Launchpad has been engaged from the start; they've taken ownership of the project and want to see us succeed. Although the technology they use isn't new per se, the way of using it is innovative.
Launchpad's key achievement has been helping us create a strong monetization strategy. We had already worked out that startups are capital-hungry and tend to go through a monetization phase, and through our consultation with Launchpad, we decided to go this route. We were impressed with their approach in this regard.
Additionally, they've advised us on getting tax relief through the Australian government and have helped us apply for R&D tax rebates. We've already received some relief and are now applying for more since it's calculated over financial years in Australia. Launchpad found the information for us and steered us in the right direction, which has been exceptional help.
They're really interested in our success, which has been a real bonus for us. Launchpad hasn't just built the app and sent us on our way; they've been helping us get it into the market. This extra effort puts them above most providers — it's been a good journey.
How did Launchpad App Development perform from a project management standpoint?
The team has been transparent about the cost upfront, which is very important for us since we're a small startup, and our team of three isn't tech-savvy. Knowing exactly how much money we need to pay has been helpful.
As for the timelines, development has taken longer than we had hoped. However, Launchpad hasn't caused the delays. We've made some changes and adapted some requirements, contributing to the timeline's extension.
We use Basecamp for project management; it's the platform they suggested we use, and it's a great tool. Even though we're in Victoria and they're based in Melbourne, Australia, they've come to our city on multiple occasions.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We appreciate Launchpad's honesty; they let us know when they don't think one of our suggestions is a good spend. Even though they could easily do what we tell them and take the cheque, they advise us when we don't need to spend money. Most service providers aim to take as much money from clients as possible, but that hasn't been the case with Launchpad.
As a result, they feel more like a business partner than a service provider. We've never felt abandoned by them; they've stayed with us the whole way and continue to do so. When we want something, it's never an issue.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We aren't tech-savvy, so getting our message across has been challenging because we don't comprehend app development language. However, that's more of a reflection on us than on them.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and director of a software company. We have a web and mobile application called Tickt, which helps facilitate connections within the construction industry.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad App Development?
We engaged Launchpad to help build our web and mobile applications.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I had a rough vision for the application, which I shared with Launchpad at the beginning of the project. I provided the team with preliminary designs and wireframes, and we collaborated on the design efforts using my style guide. Then, they helped us build a desktop application and a mobile application for iOS and Android. The application enables builders to search for tradespeople to employ for their construction jobs. Builders can also post their jobs to the platform and include details such as pay rate, location, duration, and photographs.
For example, if they need to engage an electrician, they can post the job on our platform which will send the details to local electricians who are available to assist. Then, local electricians can respond to the job with quotes, and they can communicate with the builder to come to an agreement for the project. After staffing their projects, builders can manage their jobs and make payments directly through the app. Once the project is completed, they can also leave reviews for each other.
Launchpad has delivered the MVP, and we’re in the second phase of testing now. We’re still operating in a controlled environment and performing live trials with real users. Currently, users can search for real tradespeople, manage jobs, and initiate transactions within the app.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked primarily with the director of business and the head of production at Launchpad. The head of production has delegated tasks to the development team.
How did you come to work with Launchpad App Development?
I found Launchpad on Clutch; they had great reviews and were local to me, so I reached out to partner with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested $250,000 AUD (approximately $162,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We engaged Launchpad in October 2020, and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Launchpad has helped streamline our idea and simplify the concept into an application that makes sense for our users. Although we’re still working on live trials, the app is fully functional, and we’re excited to get it up and running for the public. We’ve been receiving great feedback from our live trials; users have expressed that the app has helped them find qualified professionals and manage their workload. Considering the complex nature of the application, we’ve been particularly pleased with the positive feedback regarding the ease of use.
How did Launchpad App Development perform from a project management standpoint?
Launchpad has managed the project well, especially given the circumstances. We originally planned to meet regularly face-to-face, but when the COVID-19 Pandemic started, we shifted to meeting weekly online. The team has constantly provided updates and promptly responded to our requests. They’ve also had quick turnaround times; the project has never stood still.
The team has communicated effectively via phone and email, and they’ve worked long hours to deliver our desired results. We haven’t encountered any major bugs or crashes, but Launchpad has provided quick fixes for any minor issues. Once we’ve provided screenshots in Basecamp, the team has shared accurate timelines to resolve the issue.
Furthermore, they’ve been flexible with our changing requests. Our project scope has grown substantially since initiating our partnership, and Launchpad has happily accommodated our needs by building new features and adding functionality to the app. Even after significantly expanding the scope, they’ve managed to work with our budget and provided great value for the cost.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Launchpad has been really invested in our success from the beginning. We’ve been impressed by their tendency to go above and beyond to answer our questions and make themselves available for tasks outside the project scope. They really know their stuff and have been willing to help with anything we ask. They’ve been fantastic partners, and I’d work with them again in a heartbeat.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I have nothing Launchpad could improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I advise you to ask as many questions as you’d like because Launchpad won’t inundate you with unnecessary information upfront. As long as you engage with them, they’ll explain things in great detail and share valuable expertise.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the former project officer for Communities for Children.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad App Development?
We needed someone to help us with app development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Launchpad was involved in developing our app from the inception of the idea. First, they walked us through what would initially happen, taking our idea and requirements to help us define our vision better. After that, we had a scoping phase, where we discussed the features we wanted to include and set out a roadmap.
Then, Launchpad designed prototypes for the app based on our feedback and direction. During the development phase, they gave us guidance on what we needed to do. They were involved in the whole process, including the UI/UX design.
The app is available for iOS and Android. It serves as a local service directory for the Greater Shepperton community, specifically targeted at our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This directory contains all the services available in the area for families with children in the early years, from prenatal to children in school. It also includes educational and informational content. The purpose of this directory is to allow families to find support from a local organization instead of having to Google services for their different needs.
What is the team composition?
Throughout the project, I worked with 4–5 people from Launchpad, depending on the different stages of the development. Among the main points of contact, I communicated with one of their owners.
How did you come to work with Launchpad App Development?
When I was first looking for developers, I did random searches and looked at different companies’ reviews. Launchpad was one of the companies I found, and I sent them an inquiry. Their response time was great; they got back to me very quickly.
Through our initial discussions, we found that they were very ethical and focused on social justice, and their mission was to contribute back to the community in different ways. They also showed us the past work they had done in other communities, which was very attractive to us.
Additionally, Launchpad told us about their program Closing the Gap With Tech. Through this program, they partner up with organizations, initiatives, and groups that contribute to improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people here in Australia. Thus, they provided us with a discount because our app was targeted at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We received a lot of support from them, and they were very willing and happy to do that because of the bigger social implications and potential outcomes that this app could have.
How much have you invested in them?
We paid around $40,000 AUD (approximately $28,000 USD), but the discount we got as support was around 50%, so we received around $80,000 AUD (approximately $56,000) worth of services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We engaged with Launchpad around January 2020. I’m no longer working in the company, but Launchpad and my former company are still working together.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The product I saw before leaving the company was phenomenal; it worked well and looked great. Overall, Launchpad’s work was of a very high standard and quality. Furthermore, this app will be a fantastic resource for the community. It will provide families with everything they need service-wise in our area and hopefully have some short-term and long-term benefits for our community.
How did Launchpad App Development perform from a project management standpoint?
Launchpad was very supportive, and they took us through the process and all that it entailed. They were informative and educational about what it took to develop an app, and they were very transparent and detailed. Additionally, their project management was of high quality, and the reports they sent us were very thorough and professional.
Launchpad was always on time, and I didn’t experience any delays. We communicated over Basecamp, through which they provided us with updates. They also were always available by phone or email, but everything was contained in Basecamp.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Launchpad’s accessibility and flexibility were impressive. Despite working in very different sectors, they were able to relay information to us and explain things in a way that we understood. They were also very accommodating, and the quality of their work was exceptional.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Follow the process, maintain communication with them, and ask questions.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
On personal terms in a particular private group, with years of experience, it always shows more mutual trust.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
They researched several work order systems before presenting us with 3 options. I liked that they listed the pros and cons of each solution, which made it easy to choose one. Then, they implemented the new system, migrated our legacy data, and standardized our IT business workflows. One of the key features they configured was the ability to automatically assign orders to repairmen and monitor the order status.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Krunal was the main point of contact, was attentive towards our needs.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Web Dev & UX Design for B2B Car Sales Platform

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Wholesale It Auto, a B2B sales platform for car dealers. We will be launching our platform very shortly, where our users will be able to transact, buy, and sell cars.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad App Development?
We wanted to create this platform to attract more dealers and allow them to have access to more vehicles around the country. We also wanted to give those dealers a space to sell their cars, maximizing the profitability of their wholesale department.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Launchpad has been in charge of my whole platform’s development. Initially, they helped me come up with a very detailed business plan for this platform. They also spent a lot of time on that initial phase, ensuring that everyone was on the same page and ready for development.
During this process, I provided them with very basic ideas about what I wanted and some detailed descriptions of what I was looking for. They came back to me with great suggestions for improving my ideas and the platform’s UX based on the drawings that I had given them. It was a very iterative process during the first couple of months.
Then, Launchpad did all of the design work required for the website and the platform, and later, they moved into the development phase. They created a static website with information about our platform, where people could go in and find out what our business was all about.
During this stage, they used a lot of technology that they hadn’t used before, which was very cost-effective for me. All of the research that they did to achieve this was great.
This project has evolved from how it originally started. It started as a very simple project, but over time, it has become very comprehensive. It has required a lot of research from their side, as well as the combination of a number of assets that Launchpad has brought to the table.
For example, they also did market research, and they provided me with a guide on how to keep doing it myself to improve what we’re doing. Currently, we’re just a couple of weeks away from launch.
What is the team composition?
I’ve had direct contact with three people from Launchpad, including Dane (Co-Founder & Managing Director), who I met at the very beginning. I’ve also worked with Steve (Lead Product Strategist) and Jay (Co-Founder and Operations Director) who have been absolutely fantastic. Additionally, Launchpad has a team in the background that does a lot of the work.
How did you come to work with Launchpad App Development?
I initially found Launchpad through Clutch. I was looking for a company that could effectively do what I needed. During this research, I looked up some companies, but Launchpad was the first and only company I got in touch with.
We had a Zoom meeting, and I didn’t even bother looking at anyone else after that. Launchpad made me feel comfortable about what I wanted to do, and they reassured me that they could pull it together for me, so I was happy to go with them straight away.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with them in August 2020, and this is an ongoing project.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Launchpad was able to create a platform with much better functionality than I would have ever been able to do, and the website’s design was far better than what I expected. It will be interesting to see if our users will use the platform as intended once we launch.
We want to see if our platform enables car dealerships to buy cars that they wouldn’t have bought otherwise without actually using Wholesale It Auto. Thus, it will also be interesting to see if this platform helps them search further and wider than before.
Launchpad has been an absolutely fantastic partner throughout this project. For example, I had a very tight budget because we were just a startup, so they used more affordable technology that they wouldn’t normally use. They’ve really worked with me to make my project fit within my budget.
How did Launchpad App Development perform from a project management standpoint?
Launchpad has performed very well. They’ve offered great communication throughout the project, and they’ve made me feel as if my business was their business. They’ve always kept in contact with me so that I don’t have to chase them. I’m really happy with the team that I’ve worked with.
Launchpad has also done a lot of extra work for me that wasn’t part of the initial scope, which I’m hugely thankful for.
Our whole engagement, from start to finish, has felt very organized. The initial workshop and the things we did during the first couple of months helped us have everything ready before the development phase, ensuring that we were right and on track for this process.
I believe that our communication has been the key. Having the communication on point makes the rest fall into place. Launchpad has really listened to what I wanted, and they’ve found a way to make it happen.
We use Basecamp for project management, but we also have no problem getting on the phone and giving Jay a call on his mobile to talk through certain issues when needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Although Launchpad is the only company that I got in touch with, I don’t think I would have gotten a better level of service from anyone else. Maybe another company could have matched their skills, but I don’t know if anyone could match their customer service.
My project is very small compared to the others that they typically do. However, I’ve never felt like they’ve cut corners just because I’m paying less.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not that I can think of. If anything, I feel that the project has taken a little longer than initially expected. However, Launchpad has been using technology that they don’t usually use, and they’ve been doing extra work in between.
Extending the project’s timeline is not an important issue, and they’ve surely compensated for it in other areas. Apart from that, there’s nothing I would have them do differently; they should just keep doing a great job.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be really engaged in the project and with the team members from Launchpad. I get along with them very well, and I feel that they’ve taken extra care of my project because of this.
Treat them as business partners more than just someone you’re paying for a service, and show that you have passion for your project. Additionally, communicating with them regularly is important.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Support Your Way, a disability service provider organization.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad App Development?
We needed their team’s custom software development expertise.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Launchpad App Development supports our efforts to automate our disability support to a diversified, peer-to-peer market by developing a CMS platform and a mobile application for us. The CMS platform aims to streamline our internal operations, while the mobile app is intended for our users.
Their team has participated in the pre-development stages before implementing the software solutions we needed. They’ve helped build our prototype and worked in sprints to accomplish the full-stack development phase.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Launchpad App Development’s business development and project managers and a graphic designer.
How did you come to work with Launchpad App Development?
I found their team on Google while looking for potential developers to hire for this project. They were one of the teams that we shortlisted, and we soon decided to go with them since they were not only an attentive team, but they also had a reasonable price point.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $250,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started in June 2020, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Launchpad App Development has generated impressive iterations within reasonable turnaround times. We’ve confirmed the products’ reliable quality through user testings, and we’re excited to introduce these to our staff and customers.
How did Launchpad App Development perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Basecamp as our main project management tool. Launchpad App Development is a communicative and transparent team — the process has been going smoothly because of their professional approach.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’re most impressed with their clear understanding of our products. They implement tailored design solutions based on our requirements and the needs of our customers.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They’re already a great team to work with, but they can benefit from more polished communication skills.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Work closely with their team to understand how close you are to achieving your goals.

Mobile App Dev for Comedy Content & Wellbeing Platform
“They have exceeded our expectations, and I couldn’t be more pleased.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a co-founder of Priceless Creatives.
What challenge were you trying to address with Launchpad?
For our second venture, we had the ability to network the talent as well as the recording equipment. Essentially, we were looking for a partner to build the app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Launchpad created our mobile app. The app has a motivation portion at the beginning to help customize it for a user’s stress points and sense of humor. There are two products within the app: sleep stories and daily de-stressors, which are short five-minute segments of comedians talking about stress points throughout the day. There are also male- or female-focused clips.
Users can click on “share to socials” if there is something in a segment that they’ve experienced or want to share. When they click the button, a timeline of the track is pulled up, and they can choose a 15-second section to share to Instagram, WhatsApp, or other social apps. The section will include a video loaded in the background to that segment. We can upload audio files and images on the backend. It’s similar to uploading audio tracks on video platforms. The app is integrated with Android and iOS, using their platforms for payment through the app.
What is the team composition?
We worked with four people. Dane (Co-Founder & Managing Director) and Steve (Operating Partner) worked to set up the project roadmaps. Jay (Co-Founder & Operations Director) has been my main contact, and Robert (Lead Growth Strategist) joined later in the project.
How did you come to work with Launchpad?
I found them on Clutch.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested $88,000 AUD (approximately $69,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together around April 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We don’t have success metrics yet as we haven’t launched the app. We initially laid out each feature individually during the road mapping process. They have accomplished over 98% of those features, with the other 2% being unfinished through no fault of their own.
Launchpad blew my mind with the “share to socials” feature when they managed to build it. They are the most important middlemen we’ve ever needed because this app will be how we monetize the venture and create revenue. It wouldn’t exist without them. They have exceeded our expectations, and I couldn’t be more pleased.
How did Launchpad perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re communicative, always available, and responsive. We use Google Sheets, Basecamp, and phone calls for project management and correspondence. Their team has done extremely well with deadlines too.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re committed and trustworthy. It’s clear that they want to see us succeed with this as much as we want it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I would like more face-to-face check-ins because more can be accomplished in a shorter time. However, we’re currently unable to because of COVID-19.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Focus on your roadmap because that’s when the blood, sweat, and tears happen. Launchpad is good at one-day workshops to build it. Take that seriously.
Launchpad App Development built a functional app that aligns seamlessly with the brand. The app sees 4,000 weekly orders and the client is thrilled. They were transparent, responsive partners who set realistic expectations and met deadlines. They managed tasks in Basecamp and communicated via email.
