I'm the VP product of Granulate, a startup located in Tel-Aviv Israel. Granulate employs real-time continuous performance optimization to allow organizations to handle compute workloads with 60% fewer servers while improving performance by 40%, with no code changes required.

Granulate operates in a competitive space with a strong need to rise above the noise of the competitors messaging, out product is very technological complex and there is a challenge conveying the message to our customers and prospects.

What were your goals for this project?

We hoped to see an increase on time spent on our website, sales and are intending to use our video on our website's home page as well as on our social media channels.

Laserbee started working with us to get to know the product, business and goals. We collaborated on our script and story board, the end product is a video describing the company, product and the problem space. Laserbee team created the script, story board, animation and narration delivering an end-to-end product.

Laserbee provided a strong team of writer, animators, graphic designers and editors. They worked together with us throughout the stages of planning and executions to make sure the end results represents the the company and the product. After the filming we received multiple rounds of drafts and feedbacks.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The results were amazing, Lasebee excelled in the his complex task of simplifying and explaining a complex product with a great script and amazing visualizations. Laserbee is by far the best vendor we've worked with in all aspects you can think of.

The team gave a clear timeline and communicated with us amazingly through the different production stages. Overall they exceeded all of our expectation and more, their team excelled in the execution of the project - it was a true pleasure working with them and we're are definitely going to work with them a lot more. The end result is simply amazing.

The workflow was perfect - excellent communication, great planning, amazing professionalism and outstanding execution.

I am the VP Product at a no-code digital customer journey platform. Our company serves insurance companies, banks and financial services in North America, EU & UK. I was in charge of the video we produced describing our company's' values and products.

We needed a high-quality company introduction video for marketing purposes.

What were your goals for this project?

We aimed to create a video with cool, innovative vibe (But not goofy) that would describe the pains that our customers deal with, our company's main values that solves those issues and all that using real screens from our product so it would be tangible and create a wow effect.

How did you select this vendor?

Laserbee came highly recommended from several people, we have viewed their past produced videos on their website and wanted something "just like that". Yuval was really great to talk to, we clicked immediately and their price was fair.

Initially, we described our goals, what would be a success. Looked at example videos and filled a questionnaire Laserbee prepared that helps frame the project. Then we listed the main topics we would like to present and Laserbee created a draft script. We went over the script together and some great ideas came up. Once we approved the script, Laserbee created wireframes of the video on which we went over together and revised about 3 times. Finally, we received an almost ready video, without the final soundtrack, here we also made a couple of changes and then we proceeded to a completed video with sound that lifted our spirits. It was really amazing to see what we created in a short timeframe.

The milestones of the project were very clear: 1. Intake form 2. Script + revisions 3. Wireframes + revisions 4. Video pre-sound + revisions 5. Full video

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have just completed the video and we are thrilled to send it to our partners and customers. It is on our main page of the website and we see great responses.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Laserbee was very easy to work with, they were available for any question we had and any dilemma.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

There are two things you need to succeed in such a project: 1. Of course, they were a super talented team with creative ideas and great execution 2. Personal guidance and availability. We are nor professional video creators, we needed Laserbee's attention and advice. We got 200% on both 1 & 2, great result, we were lucky to work with them.

We were very happy with the project execution and result.

I am the Head of Product Marketing at Salt Security - an API security startup headquartered in Palo Alto, CA. In my role I am responsible for all things marketing which includes making sure our messaging and value prop are clear, concise and resonating with our target customers.

When we found Laserbee we were looking for a partner to help us create a short animated explainer video.

What were your goals for this project?

The video had to visually convey our messages and be something that people wanted to watch. It was important that the video would articulate the problem statement and clearly highlight not only how we address customer challenges but also how we were unique in the market.

How did you select this vendor?

We were actually working on the project with another vendor that was not meeting the expectations of the team. Our CEO was connected with Laserbee through our connections and based on that referral and an "interview" decided to move forward with them on the project.

I was the main point of contact for the project at Salt Security. From the very first interaction I could tell they were experienced and that we were in good hands with the Laserbee team. They had a clear process, a well-documented schedule and excellent methods to collect feedback and keep us on track.

Step 1 was to put together a script for the video. We received thoughtful feedback from the team that helped us focus and get our script together while keeping in mind the desired length of the video.

They knew exactly where to tweak and where to cut. On one call we discussed feedback and as a true partner they knew where to take our lead and where to push back. They came up with wireframes with some options based on our initial discussions about concepts and aesthetics. This gave us something to react to.

Once we were aligned they set off to put together the initial draft animations. Once we knew we were aligned they were able to finish the animation and added the voiceover and soundtrack.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Their project management and communication along the way was a dream. Progress was tracked in their project management tool for the Salt Security team to see. Updates were sent via email with links to things to review and we used Slack for realtime conversations that didn't warrant a phone call.

Although Salt Security and Laserbee were in timezones 10 hours apart it was never a factor as the team was always responsive and proactive.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In the end we received a video that exceeded our expectations. We have exactly what we set out to build - a short video that clearly explains our story and is great to watch. The entire Salt Security team loves it as do our investors and we've gotten great feedback from our customers and prospects. Since its release we're using it on our website, YouTube channel, at trade shows and as a digital marketing asset.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between our teams was exceptional. I truly wish it was this easy to work with every vendor.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

What stands out is how well they know their process and how to deliver a product that delights their clients. Writing the script, providing feedback, sharing early drafts, checking in to ensure alignment and delivering the final video was all a great experience. Most importantly we got exactly what we wanted with our explainer video.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Honestly I don't think I would change a thing with the way this project was handled. These guys work hard and are true professionals.

I am a co-founder and the CTO of a cloud management platform. We started our company in 2018 with the goal of helping extend the power of Infrastructure as Code to everyone on the team.

We found the IaC frameworks are too focused on the purely technical elements of deploying infrastructure and missed the connection back to the business. And the existing IaC management tools were all focused on just helping the SRE/DevOps team but not actually changing the way that deployments worked.

As a small startup we wanted to create a intro video to present our messaging and value proposition to our potential customers, so we could post it in our website so it would be easy to get an overview about the product and the company.

Creating a high level intro video with the right branding, messaging and value proposition of the company and the product.

We heard kind words about Laserbee from one of our investor, we scheduled a meeting that went very well, and we saw the potential and the value of Laserbee can bring us, with minimal effort from our side.

We started off with a meeting to talk about the layout and the messaging. Then wrote a script together with them, had another session on the overall look and feel. Afterwards we supplied the design materials (Logo, graphic design). Choose the narrator from a list, then got a first draft of the video and iterated on that a few times until we got the final version.

Basically we worked only with Yuval that managed everything for us. We had an open slack channel with him for communication.

What challenge were you trying to address with Laserbee?

What we do is quite technical and complicated to explain. We were looking for a video that would help us stand out and get our message out in a fun and digestible way.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Laserbee led the efforts from start to finish in creating the video for us. They first took the time to understand what we do, the message we want to get out, how our company sees ourselves, and what makes us unique. They then drew up a script and followed up with the visual process: the storyboards, color, and style of the video itself. Once that was set up, Laserbee created the video.

It was a very structured process: we were very clear about each step of the pipeline. At the same time, it was also very collaborative: Laserbee was open to our input while coming up with their own ideas.

My main contact was Yuval (Co-Founder & CEO). We also talked to the guy who wrote the script. 

How did you come to work with Laserbee?

We got a recommendation from someone who works for the company and is a friend of Yuval. The road from there was pretty short.

We spent less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The bulk of the project was done between May–August 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The video was shared on our website and on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. We didn’t have any strict metrics, but we were very satisfied with the results.

How did Laserbee perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very good. I don’t remember any outstanding issues on that front. They were flexible to our needs and willing to play around with deadlines. They still managed to do everything they needed according to their project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Laserbee is extremely good at what they do. They understood our company and what we’re trying to achieve, and they found a unique way to portray it that cuts through all the noise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing off the top of my head.

I’d highly recommend working with them.
