Zzysh

A WooCommerce-based webshop for Zzysh, a Swiss start-up company that offers massive improvements in wine and champagne storage. Although the design was provided by the client, we were in charge of the website’s back end. To shorten load speed of the Zzysh website, we connected it with a Content Delivery Network – Amazon Cloud and Amazon S3 & Amazon EC2.

Kalpak Travel

Branding and a website for Kalpak Travel - start-up company from Switzerland that excels in organizing tours to Central Asia and promoting the whole region. By keeping the best UX practices in mind we shortened the user journey to most important action - making contact with Kalpak Travel team.

Aquapark Wroclaw

A new website and e-commerce platform for Aquapark Wroclaw, that helped to increase online sales by about 2000%. An e-commerce platform based on the WooCommerce plugin and integrated with external systems such as ESOK enables booking activities and managing subscription cards by integrating the sales system with barcode scanners.

Archicom

A complex website for a stock exchange listed developer, that helps users to find their dream house using an advanced property search, which has been developed in Aurelia.js. We also implemented an internal PIM platform enabling employees to manage wide range of products.

I work for the Wroclaw City Promotion Office. I’ve been with the institution for 20 years and am currently its vice director. We are a municipal company promoting the city of Wroclaw, Poland, for tourists as well as its citizens, showing them the fantastic place we live in. Sometimes, even though we may live in a city, we may not know a lot about it, so we make an effort to provide this education for people.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lama Media?

We were preparing a promotional campaign regarding a Polish national holiday. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lama Media helped us create our promotional campaign for Social Workers’ day on November 21st. We focused on encouraging kindness between people but also promoted the city itself.

We have also worked with Lama Media on designing and developing 6 or 7 of our websites, including the official website of Wroclaw and ones for various projects. They also produced articles and photos for those sites.

We have used Lama Media’s services for social media campaigns following our initial campaign. Facebook wasn’t a very popular medium in 2008, but we have started social media work. All of our work with Lama Media has been online-based.

We’ve also put together a contest around registrations for higher-education schools. Foreign students, especially from Ukraine and other Eastern Europe countries, were encouraged to register, take part in a questionnaire, and start their studies in Wroclaw.

How did you come to work with Lama Media?

I believe that Lama Media initially contacted our office with an offer. They were a young team just finishing their studies, and they had started a new business. My previous boss decided to start working with Lama Media after they delivered some nice designs for us.

We started working with Lama Media around 2008. We have an ongoing relationship.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

Lama Media gives us reports detailing the success of their work. Our results have been fantastic, and we like their work. Our initial campaign had a very good response and led to the holiday becoming commonly known in Poland.

Wroclaw’s official website is a well-known page, as are our other pages, both locally and across Poland. Lama Media has helped us very much in this regard.

Lama Media was open to our ideas and the problems we needed to solve and offered their own suggestions.

How did Lama Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything was completed on time. We were able to call Lama Media’s team for any changes we needed to have done, and the communication was good overall. I’m very pleased to be working with them.

What did you find most impressive about Lama Media?

Lama Media was a very young team when we first started. Even so, they were very professional and have continued to be. I know that many other companies have started working with them since that time.

We were able to bring our problems to them and find ways to solve them, from marketing to technical support.

We needed help with marketing for the student recruitment process. The demographic data regarding candidates for students in Poland is getting worse; there is a steady decrease of high school graduates. What was the scope of their involvement?

Lama Media created graphic designs for our marketing material and managed our Google AdWords, Facebook, and Twitter campaigns. They also handled our Snapchat campaign later on. We also advertise on billboards and have collaborated with promotional gifts companies. All the work revolved around our recruitment process.

Lama Media also designed and developed several versions of our informational website.

I had known Lama Media’s owner for ten years. We worked together on a campaign to promote Wroclaw as a place to get higher education for in the municipality. When I needed support at the university, my first thought was “I need Lama Media”.

I am very satisfied with the collaboration. Lama Media’s members are very personable and skilled individuals.

Our university annually accepts about 11-12 thousand students. Thanks to the various activities conducted with or designed by Lama Media, we recorded a 3% increase in the number of applicants in the first year of our cooperation. Over the years, the number of people applying to study at our university has not dropped, despite the fact that year by year the number of high school graduates in Poland is decreasing.

In addition to this, our jointly implemented campaigns have received excellent social reception and were rewarded by the media. Wroclaw University of Science and Technology has gained the image of a university bravely reacting to new communication solutions (we were among the first Polish universities with Snapchat profile). We have a rich and thoughtful visual identify and carefully crafted content in our communicated messages. Undoubtedly, when it comes to promotion, Wrocław University of Science and Technology is the best university in the country.

The communication was good. Lama Media is a professional team, and I’m glad to have worked with them. We kept in touch mainly through phone and email. We had no problems regarding deadlines.

We provide multi-day tours to Central Asia for clients from Europe, North America, and other Western countries. Our agency was founded last year, and we are based in Switzerland. We mostly sell our services online, through our website. I am the CEO of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lama Media?

We wanted the ability to offer tours online through a nice website which offered signup functionalities for groups of private tours. We didn't know anything about websites and needed an agency which could build one from scratch. We needed someone who could also provide some general advice on how to run and market such an online business.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We contacted Lama Media within our early stages, before even founding the company. We presented our ideas and business model and received some suggestions around how the website should look and function. We eventually met Lama Media in Poland for a two-day workshop and discussed our whole strategy. We came to an agreement on what the website's scope would be. We put together a 50-page memorandum which was used as a business plan.

Lama Media worked on our branding, coming up with a logo, and a business card layout. Following up on this, we started the whole website design and development. Lama Media is also taking care of its maintenance.

The site is informational and does not include a payment gateway. We have a booking system, an external live chat function, as well as tour search based on budget, start dates, and other criteria. We also have the ability to feature certain tours, and we can make any changes ourselves. The whole website was designed to be editable.

In the beginning, we came up with an online marketing strategy, built different personas, and worked with Lama Media on this after the site was finished. They designed some Facebook ads and set up our account, but we have come to do this ourselves. Lama Media also set up our MailChimp newsletter.

How did you come to work with Lama Media?

We searched for agencies outside of Switzerland, since local ones are very expensive. We contacted around 20 of them from different countries. We had a few Skype calls discussing everything, and Lama Media made a very good impression on us. I believe that we originally found them on Awwwards.com, where they had some nice websites listed. Instead of wanting to take as much money from us as possible, Lama Media wanted to help us spend our budget wisely.

How much have you invested with Lama Media?

The cost of Lama Media's work has been around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Lama Media in April 2016. The website was finished in December. We have an ongoing maintenance contract with Lama Media. They continue to make changes when we request it.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We have had 50 bookings already, which is the most important success metric for us. We are happy with the outcome; the website was finished in time and was more or less within budget.

The site's functionalities are what they should be. Any mistakes we identified were small, like the layout not looking good on some mobile devices. Lama Media could fix these issues quickly through our maintenance contract.

We've heard very good feedback from everyone who's seen the website. They've mentioned that it looks great, and everyone seems able to find what they want.

How did Lama Media perform from a project management standpoint?

In the beginning, when Lama Media started the development process, they had a different approach. I remember that during the process, they moved to the Scrum methodology, which meant that we started working in sprints. I liked that a lot better, since it gave us weekly goals, making it easier for us to measure the progress of the development. We didn't have any problems regarding deadlines, and Lama Media communicated what we could expect from each sprint and in total. We did have additional change requests which extended the deadlines, but, from Lama Media's side, everything was delivered on time. There were some technical delays, but they were never a big issue.

What did you find most impressive about Lama Media?

Lama Media cared about our business, and always had the big picture in mind. We don't know that much about websites, so it was important to receive feedback about our ideas. When Lama Media didn't like one, they usually suggested a better approach in the end, even if that meant that they would be earning less money. Lama Media was interested in our business results from the very beginning. They always created a minimum viable solution and improved it from there.

Are there any areas Lama Media could improve?

It would have been nice to have Lama Media start right away with a scrum approach, and not switch after a few months since the project went much better after that. I've been happy with everything aside from this.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lama Media?

We started cooperating with Lama Media in 2012. Our first project was focused on our new website. The business challenge was to make a brand new website for the company. Until now, the projects have been delivered on time. There were different deadlines for the projects because of their complexity.
