The Aditya Birla Group had turned to consumer-facing sectors such as telecom and retail in the late 1990s, after building massive capacity and boosting revenue in traditional commodities businesses. After witnessing a huge growth in the e-commerce sector, the Aditya Birla Group was all set to launch an online fashion retail venture focused on selling apparel, footwear and accessories.
The brand aims to provide better visibility and customer interaction and is seeking to facilitate this through an online game. The game enables users to convert their points won on the game to cash, which then can be redeemed to purchase products on the ABOF’s site.
One of the main issues that the Aditya Birla Group needed to address with the Kuliza team was the increasing security concerns in regards to the virtual gaming currency. Since it’s such an important feature for the consumers within the game, it’s imperative that their transactions run smoothly without any worries about the safety of their money online.
Kuliza was also tasked with the management of the huge traffic spikes that the brand began receiving.
Kuliza designed and engineered simple, yet fun games to engage the brand’s audience. Technologies such as Django and MYSQL were used to engineer the game and Apache/Nginx is currently used to handle traffic and site crashes.
The main goal of the project is to gain a greater visibility for the brand and create more engagement and traffic within the company’s e-commerce environment.
Kuliza was referred to the Aditya Birla Group by a top e-commerce company in India and became chiefly involved in designing, engineering and enhancing the app for them.
