Users can now more easily set up our services with their smartphones. This has improved the user experience by eliminating configuration mistakes as well as the requirement for generic VoIP softphones. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The team worked seriously and responsibly, adhering to the schedule and responding quickly to our needs. We used Skype for communication and experienced no issues with the time differences.

Krify Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. developed eFIKO as an innovative school management solution that enhances communication between the school community. It consists of a series of apps for each end user, including parents, teachers, students, food vendors, and drivers app. 

With the solution, parents can see real-time information concerning their child or school. This ranges from school information (e.g., homework, newsletters) to administrative details (e.g., meal plans, accrued fees).

We worked with a main point of contact who led other resources. Although the team was lean, they were very effective and conducted fantastic QA tests.

The project was a great success. Krify Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. designed eFIKO to be scalable, which allows us to implement future enhancements and third-party integrations with ease. It was also amazing to see so many schools engage with our platform. We featured a number of positive testimonials from parents and schools on our company blog.

We haven’t launched the app yet, so we can’t provide too much information, but we’re very satisfied with the build. Krify delivered quality development and support.

The general manager gave me regular updates. This was a huge plus and showed us that Krify was taking pride in the work. We worked together quite effectively.

I would have liked Krify to question me about the details more. They built the project exactly as we outlined, but they didn’t engage with the grey areas of our plan.

I’m a product director at Fifty Eight, a company that works to bring transparency to supply chains globally. The app is the frontend to a bigger portal that manages business critical incidents. Using the app, companies can organize and automate their response to business critical incidents by sending the right information to the right people. This communication is secured via encrypted API.

I knew Krishna (Managing Director and CEO, Krify Software Technologies) and liked his positive attitude. We looked at other firms, but, in the end, Krishna's commitment and positivity won the deal for them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The major development phase took place from March 2016–March 2018, but the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app contributes significantly to our business; it's a major part of tracking and solving critical incidents. We're pleased that it performs the functions that we set out.

How did Krify Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

There have been significant challenges in terms of communication and cultural differences, which has hindered their project management. Some aspects of the project took a lot longer to execute because they didn't understand what we were trying to say. At times, they didn’t grasp the main ideas or weren't able to translate them into code. As a result, they were unable to meet some deadlines.

On the positive side, the team has been very enthusiastic. Krishna would jump in to resolve issues if needed. We ultimately got the project completed as requested. Communication is frequent, and they hold scrums and sprints on a weekly or daily basis as needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They've certainly grown as a company since the engagement began. They're far more capable of doing bigger projects and delivering better project management now. I would certainly use them again.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In addition to improving their project management, they could create a better scoping document and work in shorter sprint cycles.

They're a good team, so continue using them.

They designed and developed a mobile application for iOS and Android. I contributed initial guidelines and drawings, but they filled in the gaps and built a solid UI. Its key features included in-app payment processing and order tracking.

There were seven or eight people on my team, including a U.I. specialist, a project manager, an iOS developer, and an Android developer. The team did not change.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The time difference was difficult, and scheduling took longer than normal, but we worked through it. Their communication was flawless; they kept me updated and stayed receptive to changes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were amazing. They regularly scheduled calls if I had questions about the project and also introduced me to the entire team the first time I met them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The time zone was an issue, but I knew it would be. They did a great job overall.

I’m the CEO of Anyone Media Network, Inc., and we have a new social media product called YayWay. It focuses on the fans’ relationship with an influencer, where all of their products, information, and social media are all in one place.

We needed someone to finish our app dev and design. We’d hired a different company, but they weren’t doing what we needed, so we started looking for a new partner.

I’m the owner and CEO of an app called Bundles by Her. It’s designed to allow hair vendors to connect with the community as well as with buyers.

We wanted to develop a user-friendly and sleek app for both iOS and Android platforms.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app allows users to rate and give reviews on hair, as well as find highly-detailed descriptions of hair products. There were many different functionalities, but we mainly wanted the ability to leave reviews, rate products, and a blog section. We also needed to provide frequent notifications, product coupons, and sharing features for Twitter and Facebook.

We were in contact with three members of their team, but I believe there were a lot of people working on the project.

We did some research, saw some reviews, and took a look at their previous work, which led us to our decision.

We worked together from February until May 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had about 500 downloads so far. We’re definitely seeing that the community is very accepting and that we probably have a promising future. Feedback has been positive; users claim to love the app.

How did Krify Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

This aspect was great. We used Skype to communicate. The project was delivered on time, but there were some things that stretched out the duration, such as our requests to add different features.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There were some things that weren’t in the initial scope of the project. Normally, companies would charge a maintenance fee, however, Krify Software Technologies is doing a few extra things free of charge for us, which is something I’ve found to be pretty impressive.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

My name is Mike Miketta, and I am the co-owner (along with my brother) of an app called Experience the App. We're based out of Edinburgh, Texas.

There are two core functionalities of the app; the first is for personal users who have some free time, are new to a town or want to do something unusual. They can post on our app, and go experience something in real life. The second part is basically a business version of Pokémon Go. Businesses can select different physical areas related to a promotion, and users can go to within 15 feet and collect.

What challenge were you trying to address with Krify?

I was nervous about going to another country for development, in terms of payment and communication. I had heard horror stories, and we were completely new to the game, jumping in and hoping to find some coders.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I used Microsoft PowerPoint to build wireframes of how I wanted the app to look, and what functions would be brought up when clicking on an item. From those, Krify got a basic understanding of the product, and start coding for it. They would send back mockups for me to approve, and went further once I did. The app is available for iOS and Android, and is completely free.

For anything which didn’t look right, I had to send an email and wait. Once they got back to me, I had to reply back. The process took longer, but we went overseas for cost, which couldn’t be beaten..

Everything is based off of a map which features pins that signify places of interest. Users can narrow their searches down to events based on their profile, like women-only marathons.

How did you come to work with Krify?

It was too expensive to develop locally, so we looked overseas, and had some Skype interviews, narrowing the selection down. I found Krify through Upwork, where I posted my project with a budget of $5,000 for development on iOS and Android. I received tons of replies from overseas, and went from there. The cheapest option I could find Stateside was around $30,000 for a single platform. 

How much have you invested with them?

My initial offer on Upwork was for $5,000, but the end-result came out to $8,000, after adding the business section of the app.

What is the status of this engagement?

The development took around a year and a half, and the whole project took a little over two years.

What is the team dynamic?

I mainly dealt with two different people. One of them was in charge of financials. Payments were divided by milestone. I also dealt with their project manager, overseeing the coding. I sent requests directly to her and she would explain them to the team. Then she would send me back the results.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I haven’t tried to market the app too much. We’re hoping to do this, but I am in the process of building a house.

In terms of look-and-feel, we got what we paid for, compared to other, higher-end apps. Not that our app doesn’t look good, but there is a difference in its flow. When I sent Krify PowerPoint screens, they built it to exactly as I laid out, and didn’t put a lot of flair onto it. This is fine, since they built exactly what the customer wanted, but I didn’t have experience in this area.

We are coming up to 200 users, so there’s nothing impressive yet, but everyone I known, whom I’ve shown the app to, told me it was really nice. It’s not the best product, but, as far as cost went, we couldn’t beat it.

How did Krify perform from a project management standpoint?

The project was mainly extended because of me; halfway through the design process I decided to add a whole new business side, so we had to go back to square one, and redesign it. The results were good overall, across different renditions. Everything was delivered on budget, with the additions relating only to the business side of the app.

The first breakdown had the project duration at eight months. This turned into a year and a half, but it was obviously because we added a whole new section. Krify was great at hitting deadlines. They would sometimes send feedback, and it was hard for me to respond.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everything was professional, in terms of communication. They worked around my schedule in order to schedule calls. I also appreciated the little things, like them wishing me happy holidays.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could make some pushes in terms of graphic design. Everything was made to the specs I sent, but I did want to hear their thoughts on certain items, but it’s not how they worked. There isn’t too much outside thinking, which can either be a good or a bad thing. Everything else was great.
