    I'm the co-founder of Referurbuddy.com, a referral platform for recruitment. Companies can post their requirements for IT engineering services on the platform. Individuals can refer others who meet those requirements and earn money for the referral.

    What challenge were you trying to address with Korcomptenz Inc?

    We needed help to build our platform. We wanted a firm that could crystallize this idea and come up with the proper framework to implement it quickly for a good price.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    Korcomptenz Inc built our web-based product using PHP on the frontend and MySQL database. They had multiple calls with us to understand the platform functionality, and they developed a model for us. We went through requirements gathering followed by a development phase, testing, and maintenance. We launched the platform and are now moving into a second phase of the project.  

    What is the team composition?

    We have a senior project lead as well as developers, testers and a designer working with us.

    How did you come to work with Korcomptenz Inc?

    I met them at an event. We did reference checks through LinkedIn. They were willing to put senior people on our project immediately.

    What is the status of this engagement?

    We started working together in November 2018, and it’s ongoing.

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    We’ve been able to increase the number of referrals through this portal. They also established an admin portal for us to streamline our data management so we could move away from Excel spreadsheets. We can track the data and present to clients—which brings in new ones.

    How did Korcomptenz Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

    They had a project manager and a QA consultant in place, making sure the team followed the established plans for the project. They conducted weekly reviews to track progress and review the previous week's work. After every meeting, they shared a set of detailed notes.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    They’re not a large organization. But they manage to operate like a big company in terms of their systems, processes, and quality while maintaining a startup mentality. It really helps us.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    Nothing comes to mind.

    Do you have any advice for potential customers?

    They'll be in great hands. The CEO is very committed and employee-oriented. They’re an ethical, transparent, and trustworthy company. They put in the right resources, and they don’t cut corners. It's a weight management site that has a BMI calculator and various quizzes that help identify individual solutions. They also implemented Mautic, which is marketing automation software that helps us move our prospective clients down a funnel.

    We mostly interacted with Christian (COO, Korcomptenz), but we also worked with other members of their team–both in the U.S. and in India.

    We initially saw a conversion rate of about 5%. But once people get to the microsite and start the journey, the percentage is close to 30%.
