Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and case manager of the Phantom Detectives paranormal research team. We specialize in paranormal investigations in homes and businesses that have reported paranormal activities, which range from ghosts and UFOs to cryptozoology. We document our findings on our website as well as our social media pages, and we provide services to people in need of help in the paranormal field. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Kooky Infomedia (P) Ltd.?

I was looking for a team to develop our first website, needing a certain standard of quality.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Kooky Infomedia built our website from the ground up and provided maintenance services. I had a vision of what I wanted, which was a top-notch paranormal investigation website, and they developed it on WordPress. They walked us through the whole process, showing us mock-ups to see where the development was going. The team also guided us when the final draft was finished, and then we moved it from their server to my hosting provider. 

Moreover, they built our public overnights page. This allowed us to schedule public investigations all over the country; people could investigate locations with us. On top of that, they created an admin panel for me to easily update and add new content, such as a new picture for an investigation. 

Since we were a paranormal investigation team, we didn’t have many marketing campaigns. In lieu of that, Kooky Infomedia advised us to go to Facebook and other social media channels to share our website with like-minded groups. They also suggested connecting the website to Google Analytics for us to see how many people came to our website per week and month. Through it, we also saw how much traffic we received.

In the future, if our team grows big enough, Kooky Infomedia may end up building our mobile apps. 

What is the team composition?

We mainly work with Ravindra (Founder & UI/UX Designer) and Gulshan (CTO & Operations Manager). They have an in-house development team, but the two of them have done the actual development of the website. 

How did you come to work with Kooky Infomedia (P) Ltd.?

I did some research and posted a query on LinkedIn. I received a reply from Arpita (Business Manager), and she put me in touch with Ravindra and Gulshan. They scheduled our first consultation to hammer out what we wanted on a website. Then, they walked us through the entire process. I also did some research on them and found out that they were ranked highly among web developers. As a result, I was happy to know their team and felt that I could trust and do business with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $1,600. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership began in November 2020, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website is functioning and has been live since January 2021, and the quality of Kooky Infomedia’s work is reflected in it. It’s simple and effective, and it does its job; users don’t have to go through 50 pages to find what they need. Everything is laid out and arranged in an organized manner, and their work has been highly detail-oriented.

The contact form they created is especially helpful. Businesses and individuals can now fill out the form and indicate what they need. The form is linked to my phone, so customers can call me. They can also email the website, and it will be sent right into my email, which is also linked to my phone. 

On top of that, they’ve made it truly easy for me to add content on the website using the admin panel, which is nice because I don’t have any IT background. I can add content and hit save to automatically reflect changes — I love its simplicity. To sum things up, Kooky Infomedia is the best webmasters out there, and nobody can do the work as efficiently and quickly as they can.

How did Kooky Infomedia (P) Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re a great and gifted team, performing well above and beyond our expectations. I’ve been expecting a basic website, but the animations, the flickering lights, and the backgrounds they’ve created are absolutely outstanding. If I have to grade them from 1–10, I’ll give them an almost perfect score. It’s the best quality website I’ve ever seen of its kind.

To communicate with Kooky Infomedia, we use a couple of platforms. We’ve got in touch with them through Zoom, which allows them to work around my schedule. Even when they’re in the office late at night, they can talk to me. They’re not always active on LinkedIn, so they’ve given me their WhatsApp numbers. If I have a question, I can send them a message using it. They’re almost always immediately available at any time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ravi and Gulshan, along with the whole Kooky Infomedia team, have done an outstanding job in providing the services that my paranormal team needs. They’re great at their job, and their attention to detail is outstanding. They put a lot of pride into their work, resulting in the best website for our budget. It’s beautiful, and it’s one of the best state-of-the-art paranormal sites in the world. Overall, we hope to do business with them for many more years to come.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d like to communicate with the Kooky Infomedia team a little more in the future. Sometimes, it’s hard to get a hold of them because they get tied up at work. I know they’re busy, but it will be nice to talk more about our ideas for the website. They reply back when they can, but it can be so random. Their replies may take a couple of days or weeks, and sometimes it takes only a night. 

On top of that, they can use more flexibility with payments. We’ve used PayPal during the web design process, but they’ve wanted to use another payment gateway for my other website project. I’ve taken that second project to another company with more flexible payment methods. I would’ve given that project to Kooky Infomedia if we continued to use PayPal. Since I want them to be my sole webmasters, I hope they can offer more payment alternatives in the future. I don’t want to take my business to somebody else, so I’d like to see them become more flexible and go back to Paypal if they can.
