Launching a D2C E-Commerce Store in Germany
The client
Our client already has a established brand in the German market and in 2020 already made 543 million euros in sales.
However, the client's main success was based on its retail presence.
In order to open up new areas online via direct sales, an online shop was set up in 2021.
That's why the client approached us with a request for Cutting Edge Google Ads Services.
The challenge:
- Online presence should primarily be used to introduce new customers to the brand (no brand bidding).
- Existing customers should continue to sell in the stationary retail trade. This approach was chosen in order not to scare away the retail partners.
In order to achieve this, no discounts were granted, but only sales at the RRP.
The Strategy:
We started with cold prospecting search campaigns to pick up the most potential target group directly. With very granular campaigns, we did not give the algorithm too much freedom at the beginning in order to keep maximum control options.
Over time, we have chosen a smart bidding + broad match approach to enable maximum reach, but also the best possible efficiency of the campaigns.
In the second phase, we added standard shopping campaigns. Here, too, the goal was to have maximum control at the beginning so that we could first "learn" the algorithm.
In the third phase, we ran Performance Max campaigns with the 1:1 AS Approach by KISS to generate brand awareness for new customers and to ensure a good level of efficiency.
In the fourth phase, GDN retargeting and YouTube retargeting were added to support the Pmax campaigns in order to build up massive brand dominance in the minds of the users.
We discussed the results in detail with the client every two weeks and thus ensured that the client was optimally picked up and knew transparently at all times what was happening and why it was happening.
The client is extremely satisfied with the cooperation and communicates this more than clearly in our appointments.
