I’m the assistant director of finance at a nonprofit news outlet.
What challenge were you trying to address with Kinetix Technology Services?
We needed an IT service provider.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Kinetix Technology Services has been our IT partner for about nine years now. Their team performs several IT-related tasks daily, including managing and securing our main server and helpdesk.
What is the team composition?
Our main point of contact is Miguel (Jamf Technician), and we also work with Brian (Technology Strategy Manager) and Patrick (Client Success Lead) and have interacted with at least three project managers over the past nine years.
How did you come to work with Kinetix Technology Services?
They were onboarded before I joined the company.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $1 million since we’ve started working with Kinetix Technology Services.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing and long-term relationship with Kinetix Technology Services kicked off in February 2012.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Kinetix Technology Services manages our server impeccably to ensure that everything is running smoothly and each panel is secured. They also make sure that everything can be easily accessed by our internal team, including their backup solutions.
Overall, we’re impressed with the capacity of their in-house tech team to deliver top-notch services and take care of our products — our nine-year collaboration with them speaks volumes about the quality of their work.
How did Kinetix Technology Services perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m not familiar with the tools they use to manage each phase of the project, but we’ve set up spreadsheets to track links, budgets, and progress. Kinetix Technology Services is a team of good communicators — they manage to keep us in the loop at all times. We value their collaborative and transparent approach because it ensures us that the security of our systems is not compromised.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Kinetix Technology Services utilizes cutting-edge technology to meet our technical and security needs. Their top priority from the start has always been our organization’s security and the confidentiality of our documents, and that’s how we know we’ve hired the right team to handle our needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We haven’t encountered any areas that need improvement. They’ve helped us efficiently overcome a lot of security issues, including a ransomware attack that’s almost cost us money.

For what projects/services did your company hire Kinetix Technology Services?
We hired Kinetix to assist with our IT Helpdesk, manage on site servers and assist in maintaining our IT infrastructure.
How did you select Kinetix Technology Services and what were the deciding factors?
We were referred to Kinetix by another company. Deciding factors was the availability of their technicians via chat (Slack) and their continued growth in the IT roadmap.
Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.
They implemented a help desk ticketing system through slack. This allow our users to contact them quickly and get their issues resolved. We also used Kinetix to assist with other cloud servers (AWS) and their project teams were excellent at staying on track and accomplishing the task.
How many resources from the Kinetix Technology Services team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have a main account manager that we meet on a monthly basis.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
They continue to power our IT Helpdesk with their technicians. I look to them for additional guidance on any IT projects on the horizon.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We use Slack as our main communication method but we do meet with our account manager on a monthly cadence.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They continued to look for ways that improved their offerings. They added a lot of services since I started with them back in 2019.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Sr. HR Generalist of an online bookmarking and sharing software company. I wear multiple hats here as we are a small company (80 employees). We also don't have an in house IT team, so I am the liaison between the employees and Kinetix, who helps us manage the bulk of our IT.
For what projects/services did your company hire Kinetix Technology Services?
Kinetix helps us manage the bulk of our IT, anything from managing our network, to remote support, to workstation set ups, and everything in between. For this specific project, Kinetix was helping us roll out the installation of Jamf to all of our Macbooks, which is something we didn't have before.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We've worked with Kinetix for many years and when we wanted to roll this project out, it was a no brainer to use them. We know they will be able to successfully help us complete the project, that rates would be reasonable, and we were already familiar with working with them.
Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.
The project was to make sure all of our Mac laptops that employees use, have Jamf installed, for security purposes. When we started this project, 0 employees had Jamf installed. Kinetix helped us get comfortable with what this would all entail, the plan and timeline, how to answer employee questions, and walked us through the entire process. It was nice that there was a dedicated project person that I could work with on this. And they would send weekly reports to let me know who still needs to install it, and who was complete.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had a dedicated project manager, as well as the regular support desk team, and our regular account manager involved.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We were able to get almost all of our employees to download Jamf, which I consider a success. Kinetix was also able to help when we ran into questions and issues, which is also a success.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had set up calls with the project manager, and also was able to communicate via email anytime I needed. It was solid.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I think the most impressive thing about Kinetix is the broad range of IT topics that they are able to support. Whatever you need, whether it's moving an office (which we did), a project like Jamf, or just regular day to day support, they can do it all.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
It would be nice if they could continue to stay more involved even after the bulk of the project was done, as it was a bit difficult to get updated reports on who else still needed to download Jamf when we got to the last remaining few. However I understand they do need to wrap up eventually and I was able to get the report in the end.

For what projects/services did your company hire Kinetix Technology Services?
We hired Kinetix to manage our IT services. Kinetix manages and monitors our office networks, provisions and maintains our corporate IT assets, manages our core cloud software subscriptions (email, filesharing, etc.), provides helpdesk support to our employees, and consults on security best practices.
Kinetix has also managed multiple IT projects for us for office moves and company acquisitions.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to find a knowledgeable and cost-effective partner to provide the IT services that we did not have the in-house expertise to do ourselves.
How did you select Kinetix Technology Services?
Kinetix was selected as a partner prior to when I joined the company.
Describe the project in detail.
For managed services, we have a bi-weekly meeting with our account manager to discuss upcoming needs, in-process projects, and important issues. We also do quarterly executive reviews to discuss the overall health of our systems and review recommendations from Kinetix on areas for improvement.
For projects such as office moves, we have been assigned a project manager and one or more team members from Kinetix to perform the work. The projects typically have a weekly meeting with the Wiser project lead to discuss progress and issues.
What was the team composition?
For ongoing services, Kinetix has multiple team members that provide support on an as needed basis. For projects, Kinetix provides a project manager and one or more engineers to complete the work.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
For managed services, Kinetix has met all our IT needs. We have not needed to hire any internal IT staff in 6 years. Our employees are happy with the level and responsiveness of the support team.
For projects, we have completed 3 office moves and 3 company acquisitions on time and budget (plus numerous other smaller projects).
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Kinetix has strong project management skills. They are well-prepared and detail-oriented. They stay on top of deadlines and follow through effectively. Our account management team is very clear in their communication with us and is very proactive in making recommendations when they see issues or needs within our business.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I value Kinetix most highly for the IT knowledge they bring to our relationship, particularly around security. I appreciate the depth to which they understand our systems and the balanced approach they take when recommending changes.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The proximity of their office to our San Mateo office has been a huge help. I wish we had the same for our Boston office (though their remote support is good, they have always been able to get a tech on-site in the Boston office when needed for projects, and have extended their support hours to better support our east coast team).
