A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the content marketing manager at Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
What challenge were you trying to address with Kind of Major?
I needed help on smaller animation projects.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, they helped with video resizing, and then they transitioned into a graphic animation overlay. Now, they’re our go-to for any project that involves resizing or animation. Additionally, they provide quick, high-end video editing, as well as some photography and video editing. They’re an extension of our team for technical, complicated projects. For example, right now, they’re helping with some remote radio recordings.
They do all our gifs and stickers for Instagram or Gify. Sometimes they take existing illustrations and animate them and sometimes they create the images themselves.
What is the team composition?
We work with Brad, and he has both a core team, as well as people he can bring in to help with certain projects. Currently, we have a radio producer helping us with the radio spots.
How did you come to work with Kind of Major?
We knew them through a personal connection of one of our colleagues.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $400,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve worked together since January 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I don’t have any specific data, but spots they’ve turned around have run across all our media channels including, Facebook, Instagram, Hulu, as well as in stores and at events. They’ve touched every outlet we use, which is unusual. Most partners live in one or two of those, but they move between all the platforms seamlessly.
How did Kind of Major perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re good and getting better. They’ve scaled their company a lot since we started with them and it’s been a learning curve for both of us on how to communicate. We’ve navigated it well together with open communication, multiple Slack channels, and Asana tasks. We’ve grown up together; it’s gone really well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their breadth of knowledge stands out. We can go to them for a wide range of products including radio spots, in-store content, Gify stickers, and video editing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I want to get to know their team more. They’ve grown so much.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
When working with new platforms and technologies, be open to hearing their thoughts. They have an impressive portfolio of working with a variety of technologies and formats and dimensions. He knows what works and doesn’t and tells you. He’s very helpful and knows how to adjust the creative/content to be most effective.
The client is pleased with Kind of Major's ability to create material for multiple different channels. They've displayed excellent communication and a desire to grow and learn throughout the partnership. Future clients will find a team with a wide skillset and a deep talent pool.
