BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a manager at an international software company. Our headquarters is in Boston and we have a small office for the Middle East in Jordan.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Key Jordan?

We needed to outsource our staffing needs for a couple of positions. We didn't have a business affairs manager, or what we call here in Jordan an office manager, and also needed to fill an HR supervisor position. At the time, we had lost a previous manager and needed to keep work moving.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Key Jordan provides us with full-time staffing for the two positions. The business affairs manager works on finances and HR needs including payroll and benefits. They also support maintenance, logistics, and procurement. The HR supervisor fulfills all of our HR needs. They also help train staff so that we know how to manage that position, which is a very high one within the company.

We initially contracted them for one month and have extended that contract. We anticipate closing it by next year since we need to hire permanent employees. They will help us to recruit those permanent staff.

What is the team composition?

We work with an account manager.

How did you come to work with Key Jordan?

My manager in the US searched for an outsourcing company and found Key Jordan. They’re one of the leading outsourcing firms in Jordan.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $10,000 to $15,000 per month so have spent between $200,000–300,000 total.

What is the status of this engagement?

They started working with us in March 2017 and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve helped us a lot. For example, when a previous manager left, they committed a range of misdeeds like deleting employee files. The staff from Key Jordan came onboard at a critical time at which we needed to pay salaries but didn’t have the necessary information about their bank accounts or taxation. We couldn’t make the payments to either staff or the government tax authorities. They used their skills and connections to make the payments on time. It was a real success story.

How did Key Jordan perform from a project management standpoint?

They gave us a specialized account manager with a high-level position because we’re such a large client. They hit deadlines whenever we request something. If something will take more time, they inform us in advance. They communicate well and have in fact improved the communication within our company.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication, their follow-up, and their ability to achieve objectives.

Are there any areas they could improve?

From my perspective, no. They need to have more employees available under their umbrella because they do a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about the project timeline and contract length. We weren’t clear about how much we would need them so only contracted them for one month and had to extend, which caused administrative complications on our end. It’s better to have a clear vision of what you need.
